Abstract
Description
このテープカートリッジは、印刷テープをテープコアに巻回したテープ体と、インクリボンをリボン繰出しコアに巻回したリボン体と、使用後のインクリボンを巻き取るリボン巻取りコアと、印刷テープをテープ体から繰り出して送るプラテンローラーと、テープ体、リボン体、リボン巻取りコアおよびプラテンローラーを収容したカートリッジケースと、を備えている。
一方、テープ印刷装置のカートリッジ装着部には、底板上に、テープコアを位置決めする位置決め突起と、ヘッドカバーに覆われた印刷ヘッドと、プラテンローラーを回転させるプラテン駆動軸と、リボン巻取りコアを介してインクリボンを巻き取るリボン巻取り駆動軸と、が設けられている。また、カートリッジ装着部の下側空間には、プラテン駆動軸およびリボン巻取り駆動軸を回転させるモーター駆動のテープ送り機構が内蔵されている。
また、従来のテープカートリッジでは、カートリッジ装着部に装着された状態で、印刷テープおよびインクリボンの送りに際し、プラテン駆動軸からプラテンローラーに回転力が作用する。同様に、インクリボンの巻取りに際し、リボン巻取り駆動軸からリボン巻取りコアに回転力が作用する。プラテンローラーに入力する回転力の一部は、プラテンローラーとその軸受部分との間の摩擦により、軸受部分を介してカートリッジケースに回転モーメントとして作用する。同様に、リボン巻取りコアに入力する回転力の一部も、カートリッジケースに回転モーメントとして作用する。
この場合、プラテンローラーは、正面視時計回りに回転し、リボン巻取りコアは、正面視反時計回りに回転する。このため、テープカートリッジには、プラテンローラー側の回転モーメントと、リボン巻取りコア側の回転モーメントとが合成した力が作用する。この合成力は、プラテンローラーとリボン巻取りコアとを結ぶ仮想線上においては、各々の回転力が互いに打ち消しあうベクトル成分がないため、この仮想線上では仮想線に交差する方向で重なり合い、最も大きな力として作用する。このため、テープ印刷装置が印刷駆動すると、カートリッジ装着部内でテープカートリッジが位置ズレするおそれがあった。そして、テープカートリッジの位置ズレは、印刷ヘッドに対する位置ズレとなり、印刷品質に悪影響を与える。
この構成によれば、印刷ヘッド部の背面側に位置する第1カバー側壁の凸部に第1開口内壁の凹部が位置決めされるため、印刷ヘッド部の押圧力は、凹部を介して、凸部に受けられる。すなわち、印刷ヘッド部の押圧力は、これを覆うヘッドカバーに吸収されるため、この押圧力によりカートリッジケースの位置ズレが抑制される。したがって、印刷品質を安定させることができる。
この構成によれば、2つの第2カバー側壁の凸部に2つの第2開口内壁の凹部が位置決めされるため、プラテンローラー廻りの回転力は、2つの凹部を介して、離間して設けられた2つの凸部に受けられる。すなわち、プラテンローラー廻りの回転力は、ヘッドカバーで抑えられるため、この回転力によるカートリッジケースの位置ズレが抑制される。したがって、印刷品質を安定させることができる。
図1は、テープ印刷装置およびこれに装着されるテープカートリッジの外観斜視図である。同図に示すように、テープ印刷装置1は、外殻を構成する装置ケース3と、テープカートリッジ100が着脱自在に装着されるカートリッジ装着部5と、カートリッジ装着部5を開閉する開閉蓋7と、を備えている。装置ケース3の上面には、奥側にカートリッジ装着部5が設けられ、中央にディスプレイ11が設けられ、手前側にキーボード13が設けられている。開閉蓋7の近傍には、指掛け用の窪入部15が設けられている。開閉蓋7は、この窪入部15に指を掛け引き上げることで開放される。そして、装置ケース3の側面(左側面)には、印刷テープ102が排出される縦長のテープ排出口17が設けられている。
図2および図5に示すように、テープカートリッジ100は、印刷テープ102をテープコア104に巻回したテープロール106と、インクリボン110を繰出しコア112に巻回したリボンロール114と、を備えている。また、テープカートリッジ100は、使用後のインクリボン110を巻き取る巻取りコア116と、印刷ヘッド21がインクリボン110および印刷テープ102を介して当接すると共に印刷テープ102およびインクリボン110を送るプラテンローラー120(プラテン)と、を備えている。さらに、テープカートリッジ100は、これらテープロール106、リボンロール114、巻取りコア116およびプラテンローラー120を収容したカートリッジケース130を備えている。このように、本実施形態のテープカートリッジ100は、外殻をカートリッジケース130で覆われた、いわゆるシェル構造を有している。
図1および図3に示すように、カートリッジ装着部5は、テープカートリッジ100の平面形状と相補的な平面形状に形成されると共に、装着可能な複数種のテープカートリッジ100のうち、最大厚のテープカートリッジ100に対応する深さを有して、窪入形成されている。この場合、カートリッジ装着部5の底板部を構成する装着ベース31と側板部33とは、樹脂等で一体に形成(成形)されている。カートリッジ装着部5と上記のテープ排出口17との間には、スリット状のテープ排出経路35が形成されており、この部分に、上記のテープ切断機構部27が内蔵されている。
次に、図2、図5および図6を参照して、テープカートリッジ100について詳細に説明する。なお、テープカートリッジ100の説明では、図2を例に、テープカートリッジ100の上正面である装着方向手前の面を「表面」と、逆側の装着方向奥側の面を「裏面」と、左側の側面を「左側面」と、右側の側面を「右側面」と、上側(前側)の円弧状の側面を「先端面」と、下側(後側)の側面を「基端面」と、称呼するものとする。
ところで、図7に示すように、開口周壁部164により画成された挿入開口134は、カートリッジ装着部5のヘッドカバー43が挿入される部位であり、ヘッドカバー43は、その基部に、テープカートリッジ100に向かって突出するように設けた3つのガイド凸部67(凸部)を有している。一方、開口周壁部164は、ヘッドカバー43に設けた上記の3つのガイド凸部67に対応する3つのガイド凹部169(対向部)を有している。カートリッジ装着部5にテープカートリッジ100を装着すると、ヘッドカバー43の3つのガイド凸部67に、テープカートリッジ100の3つのガイド凹部169がそれぞれ嵌合し、テープカートリッジ100がカートリッジ装着部5に位置決めされる(詳細は後述する)。
次に、図7ないし図9を参照して、第1実施形態に係るテープカートリッジ100のガイド凹部169の構造について、ヘッドカバー43のガイド凸部67の構造と共に詳細に説明する。なお、ヘッドカバー43に覆われた印刷ヘッド21およびこれを支持するヘッド支持フレーム61等により、請求項にいう印刷ヘッド部が構成されている。
次に、図10を参照して、第2実施形態に係るテープカートリッジ100Aのガイド凹部169Aの構造について、ヘッドカバー43のガイド凸部67の構造と共に詳細に説明する。また、第2実施形態では、主に第1実施形態と異なる部分について説明する。
また、ガイド凹部169に代えて、挿入開口134の後開口内壁310、左開口内壁312および右開口内壁314の全体を、第1・第2実施形態のガイド凹部169Aにおける底部まで後退させた形状としてもよい。かかる形状とすることで、主たる位置ズレの方向がこの内壁に交差する方向の場合は、上述した第1・第2実施形態と同様な効果を得ることができる。したがって、挿入開口134を簡素な形状とすることができ、製造が容易になると共に、テープカートリッジ100,100Aの装着も引っかかりなく円滑に行うことができる。
ところで、本実施形態のテープカートリッジ100では、プラテン駆動軸45からプラテンローラー120に回転力が入力されると共に、巻取り駆動軸47から巻取りコア116に回転力が入力される。このため、プラテンローラー120の軸受け部分の摩擦を介して、カートリッジケース130に回転モーメントとして作用すると共に、巻取りコア116の軸受け部分の摩擦を介して、カートリッジケース130に回転モーメントとして作用する。この2つの回転モーメントは、相互に逆方向に作用し、その合成力Mが、プラテンローラー120と巻取りコア116とを結ぶ仮想線L上においては互いに打ち消し合うベクトル成分が無いため、仮想線Lに交差する方向に最も大きく作用する(図11(a)参照)。そこで、本実施形態では、ヘッドカバー43に本体側当接部65を設けると共に、テープカートリッジ100Bにカートリッジ側当接部166を設けて、上記の合成力Mに抗するようにしている(図11(a)参照)。
次に、図11ないし図13を参照して、第3実施形態に係るテープカートリッジ100Bのカートリッジ側当接部166の構造について、ヘッドカバー43の本体側当接部65の構造と共に詳細に説明する。なお、ヘッドカバー43に覆われた印刷ヘッド21およびこれを支持するヘッド支持フレーム61により、請求項にいう印刷ヘッド部が構成されている。
次に、図14を参照して、第4実施形態に係るテープカートリッジ100Cのカートリッジ側当接部166Aの構造について、ヘッドカバー43の本体側当接部65の構造と共に詳細に説明する。また、第4実施形態では、主に第3実施形態と異なる部分について説明する。
次に、図14および図15を参照して、第4実施形態の第1変形例について説明する。この変形例では、カートリッジ側当接部166Aの形態は、第4実施形態のものと同一であるが(図14参照)、本体側当接部65の形態が、第4実施形態のものと異なっている。そこで、以下、本体側当接部65について説明する。
次に、図16を参照して、第4実施形態の第2変形例について説明する。この変形例でも、カートリッジ側当接部166Aの形態は、第4実施形態のものと同一であるが(図14参照)、本体側当接部65の形態が、第4実施形態のものと異なっている。またこの場合も、本体側当接部65は、第1凸部65aおよび第2凸部65bを有しており、この第1凸部65aが第4実施形態と異なる形態を有している。
次に、図17を参照して、第5実施形態に係るテープカートリッジ100Dのカートリッジ側当接部166Bの構造について、ヘッドカバー43の本体側当接部65の構造と共に詳細に説明する。また、第5実施形態では、主に第3実施形態と異なる部分について説明する。
上述のように、右カバー側壁284と右開口内壁314との間には間隙が設けられ、前カバー側壁286と前開口内壁316との間にも間隙が設けられている。このため、ヘッドカバー43の角部370と、テープカートリッジ100Dの隅部372と間にも間隙が生じている。

前記カートリッジ装着部の装着ベース面から、前記インクリボンの送り経路における前記装着方向先方の端位置の手前まで延在する前記凸部に対し、
前記凹部は、前記3つの開口内壁の前記装着方向先方の端面から、前記端位置の手前に対応する位置まで延在していることを特徴とする請求項3ないし請求項8のいずれか一項に記載のテープカートリッジ。 - 前記3つの開口内壁は、内壁本体と、前記内壁本体と前記装着ベース面側のケース壁とが交わるコーナー部と、を有し、
前記凹部は、前記コーナー部において凹溝で構成され、前記内壁本体において開口で構成されていることを特徴とする請求項9に記載のテープカートリッジ。 - 前記カートリッジケースは、前記装着方向において分割可能な2つのケースを含み、
前記凹部は、前記装着方向先方に位置する一方のケースに設けられていることを特徴とする請求項9または請求項10に記載のテープカートリッジ。 - 印刷テープとインクリボンとを有するテープカートリッジが装着されるカートリッジ装着部に、前記印刷テープを送るための正回転動力を出力する第1出力部と、前記インクリボンを巻き取るための逆回転動力を出力する第2出力部と、前記テープカートリッジが装着された状態で前記テープカートリッジに当接し得る本体側当接部と、が設けられたテープ印刷装置の、前記カートリッジ装着部に着脱自在に装着される為のテープカートリッジであって、
前記テープ印刷装置に装着された状態となった場合に、
前記テープ印刷装置の前記第1出力部から前記正回転動力が入力される第1入力部と、
前記テープ印刷装置の前記第2出力部から前記逆回転動力が入力される第2入力部と、
前記テープ印刷装置の前記第1出力部および前記第2出力部の回転力により前記テープカートリッジに対して生ずる回転力に抗するように、前記第1出力部と前記第2出力部とを結ぶ仮想線上または仮想線の近傍に、前記テープ印刷装置の前記本体側当接部と当接し得るカートリッジ側当接部と、を備えたことを特徴とするテープカートリッジ。 - 前記第1入力部は、回転自在に構成されたプラテンローラーに含まれ、
前記第2入力部は、回転自在に構成された巻取りコアに含まれていることを特徴とする請求項12に記載のテープカートリッジ。 - 印刷ヘッド部と、複数の角部を有するヘッドカバーとが設けられると共に、前記ヘッドカバーの1の角部に前記本体側当接部が凸設された、前記カートリッジ装着部に対し、
前記ヘッドカバーが挿入され得る挿入開口を、更に備え、
前記カートリッジ側当接部は、前記挿入開口を画成する開口周壁部に凹設されていることを特徴とする請求項12または請求項13に記載のテープカートリッジ。 - 前記印刷ヘッド部の回動支軸側を覆うと共に、相互に交会する第1カバー側壁および第2カバー側壁を有し、前記本体側当接部が、前記第1カバー側壁と前記第2カバー側壁とが交会する角部に凸設された前記ヘッドカバーに対し、
前記開口周壁部は、前記第1カバー側壁に対応する第1開口内壁と、第1開口内壁に交会すると共に前記第2カバー側壁に対応する第2開口内壁と、を有し、
前記カートリッジ側当接部は、前記第1開口内壁と前記第2開口内壁とが交会する隅部に凹設されていることを特徴とする請求項14に記載のテープカートリッジ。 - 前記カートリッジ側当接部が前記本体側当接部を受容することを特徴とする請求項15に記載のテープカートリッジ。
- 前記角部において、前記第1カバー側壁に凸設した第1凸部と、前記第2カバー側壁に凸設した第2凸部と、を有する前記本体側当接部に対し、
前記カートリッジ側当接部は、前記第1凸部に対応し前記第1開口内壁に凹設した第1凹部と、前記第2凸部に対応し前記第2開口内壁に凹設した第2凹部と、を有していることを特徴とする請求項15または請求項16に記載のテープカートリッジ。 - 前記カートリッジ側当接部は、前記カートリッジ装着部への装着方向に向かって拡開形状に形成されていることを特徴とする請求項14ないし請求項17のいずれか一項に記載のテープカートリッジ。
- 前記隅部に凹設された前記カートリッジ側当接部に代えて、前記隅部が、前記カートリッジ側当接部を兼ねていることを特徴とする請求項15に記載のテープカートリッジ。
- 印刷ヘッド部と、ヘッドカバーとが設けられると共に、前記ヘッドカバーに前記本体側当接部が凸設された、前記カートリッジ装着部に対し、
前記ヘッドカバーが挿入され得る挿入開口を、更に備え、
前記カートリッジ側当接部は、前記挿入開口を画成する開口周壁部の前記本体側当接部に対向する部分であることを特徴とする請求項12または請求項13に記載のテープカートリッジ。
