- Fig.1 (a) is a width direction fragmentary sectional view which shows an example of the tire of this invention.
- the tire of the present invention includes three circumferential grooves 1a and 1b and rib-like land portions 2a and 2b in the tread portion 11.
- the circumferential groove means a groove continuous in the tire circumferential direction having a width of about 4 to 18 mm and a depth of about 6 to 10 mm. Accordingly, it is common that three or more tires, usually about 2 to 4 tires, are provided on the tire. By providing the circumferential groove, the occurrence of the hydroplaning phenomenon is suppressed.
- a central circumferential groove (center main groove) is provided on the tire equator plane.
- a rib-shaped land part means the land part pinched
- this rib-shaped land section is provided with a plurality of lateral grooves extending partly or entirely in the tire width direction in order to optimize the hydroplaning water flow and to acquire traction on sandy land, ice and snow. Is common.
- two independent rubber strips 12A and 12B formed by arranging a plurality of cords in parallel and covered with rubber are unwound from two unwinding means arranged at different positions in the tire width direction.
- the circumferential reinforcing layer 12 is formed by spirally winding the outer periphery of the molding drum in the same direction.
- the rubber strips 12A and 12B are wound with a gap in a part or the whole in the tire width direction. That is, in this invention, it has the clearance gap part in which the rubber strip is not wound in at least one part of the tire width direction. Moreover, in the part which does not have a clearance gap, the rubber strip is wound adjacently without overlapping.
- the rubber strips 12A and 12B are wound with no gap in the region overlapping the shoulder-side rib-shaped land portion 2b, and with an equal interval in other regions.
- the outer peripheral surface of the molding drum on which the circumferential reinforcing layer 12 is wound is generally the outer peripheral surface of the carcass layer 13 and the steel belt 14 as tire constituent members that are sequentially stacked on the molding drum. It is. Further, in FIG. 1A, for the sake of simplicity, the circumferential reinforcing layer 12 is continuously described in the tire width direction, and in the drawing, the winding direction is a direction from left to right.
- the end portions 12As, 12Ae, 12Bs, 12Be at the winding start position and the winding end position of the rubber strips 12A, 12B at least the center side end portions 12Ae, 12Bs located on the tire equatorial plane side, It arrange
- the end of the rubber strip is disposed at a position that completely overlaps the rib-like land portion.
- the end of the rubber strip overlaps the maximum width of the opening of the circumferential groove in the entire tire width direction. Means not in the region.
- the width of the rib-like land portion 2a that overlaps the center side end portions 12Ae and 12Bs along the tire width direction is W (mm), and the width of the rubber strips 12A and 12B is G (mm). Then, the values of G and W are set so as to satisfy the relationship of G ⁇ W. Thereby, the reason why the desired effect of the present invention is obtained is as follows. *
- the winding end portion of the rubber strip is at least inside the shoulder side circumferential groove 1b and is likely to be located on the tire equatorial plane CL in many cases.
- this end is located below the circumferential groove, the circumferential rigidity is reduced starting from the end, the strain in the tire circumferential direction is increased, and groove cracks are generated due to this strain,
- it has been found by the inventors' diligent research that the tendency to grow is intensified. This is particularly noticeable in the center region in the tire width direction where distortion is likely to occur due to wiping during traveling, particularly when there are circumferential grooves and winding ends on the tire equator line.
- the tension applied to the rubber strip is larger than when the gap is not opened, and this tendency is particularly great.
- the center side end portions 12Ae and 12Bs of the rubber strip positioned in the center region in the tire width direction are arranged in the region overlapping the rib-like land portion 2a, Since the end of the rubber strip does not exist, it is possible to avoid the influence of excessive distortion due to the rigidity reduction of the end of the rubber strip, and the groove caused by the circumferential reinforcing layer formed by the rubber strip. Generation of cracks can be suppressed.
- all end portions of the rubber strip may be arranged in a region overlapping the rib-like land portion.
- the center side end portion is disposed under the rib-like land portion, the center side end is determined when the gap S between the rubber strip windings or the width G of the rubber strip is larger than the width W of the rib-like land portion. Since the circumferential rigidity of the entire rib-like land portion in which the portion is disposed is reduced, the distortion of the groove adjacent to the rib-like land portion during traveling increases, leading to a groove crack. Therefore, in the present invention, it is assumed that the values of G and W are set so as to satisfy the relationship of G ⁇ W, and the occurrence of distortion is suppressed by positioning the center side end portion under the rib-like land portion. Thus, weight reduction can be achieved without reducing groove crack durability.
- the center side end portions 12Bs and 12Ae of the two rubber strips 12A and 12B are close to each other in the vicinity of the tire equator plane. However, if these end portions are too close to each other, the effect of the end portions of the two rubber strips 12A and 12Ae is received. In some cases, the cracks become worse.
- the distance L in the tire circumferential direction between the center side end portions 12Bs and 12Ae of the two rubber strips is preferably set to 100 to 400 mm.
- the distance L in the tire circumferential direction between the center end portions of the two rubber strips is a rubber measured along the tire circumferential direction regardless of the position in the tire width direction of the center end portion of the rubber strip. It means the distance between the central ends of the strip.
- the center side end portions 12Ae and 12Bs of the two rubber strips 12A and 12B overlap in the tire radial direction.
- the suppression effect of a groove crack can be heightened by pressing the edge part of the rubber strip which is easy to generate
- the center end portions of the rubber strip overlap in the tire radial direction means that the end portion of the rubber strip existing at the winding end position on the tire equatorial plane side in the tire width direction is the tire diameter. It means having an overlap in the direction.
- the circumferential grooves 1a and 1b overlap in the tire radial direction at a position that exists on the tire equator plane or overlaps the central circumferential groove 1a closest to the tire equator plane.
- a region in which each of the two rubber strips 12A, 12B crosses the region overlapping the central circumferential groove 1a across the tire width direction, and the gap between the windings of the rubber strips 12A, 12B overlaps the central circumferential groove 1a It is preferable to wind so that it becomes substantially zero. That is, by winding the adjacent rubber strips in the tire width direction, the circumferential reinforcing layer is substantially spaced as shown in FIG.
- the gap between the rubber strip windings along the tire width direction is S (mm)
- the relationship G> S between the width G of the rubber strip and the gap S of the rubber strip Is preferably satisfied. If the gap S between the rubber strips is larger than the width G of the rubber strip, distortion tends to occur at this portion, which causes a groove crack or the like. By making the gap S between the rubber strips smaller than the width G of the rubber strip, an appropriate rigidity can be ensured.
- the end portions of the two rubber strips are arranged in the central circumferential direction so that the end portions of the two rubber strips are not located in the central circumferential groove 1a.
- the end portion of the rubber strip is arranged in the rib-like land portion 2a adjacent to the central circumferential groove 1a so as not to be positioned in the central circumferential groove 1a, and overlaps the central circumferential groove 1a.
- a rubber strip may not be wound around the position.
- each of the two rubber strips may be folded back on the shoulder side and overlapped in the vicinity of the shoulder-side rib-shaped land portion 2b, thereby further improving high-speed durability. Can do.
- the end portion of the folded rubber strip is arranged in the rib-like land portion 2b, and the end portion of the rubber strip is not arranged in both the central side circumferential groove 1a and the shoulder side circumferential groove 1b.
- the structure is strong against groove cracks.
- the winding region of the rubber strip in the tire width direction is not particularly limited, but preferably, as shown in the drawing, it covers the entire width of the steel belt 14 rather than the width of the steel belt 14. Wind it over a wide area.
- the rubber strip is further wound once more in order to reduce the influence of the end portion of the rubber strip.
- the technique to do is often used.
- the width G of the rubber strip used in the present invention can be appropriately set according to the tire size, the number of rubber strips used for manufacturing, and the like, and is not particularly limited. For example, it is applied by two unwinding means. In this case, the range of 4 to 7 mm is preferable from the viewpoint of the balance between performance and productivity.
- the gap S between the rubber strip windings is effective to be in the range of 30 to 70% with respect to the width of the rubber strip from the viewpoint of reducing weight, ensuring performance, and suppressing air entry in the gap. It is.
- the present invention has been described with respect to the case where a tire is manufactured by applying two independent rubber strips using two unwinding means most suitable from the viewpoint of the productivity of the current production equipment.
- the number of unwinding means is further increased and a plurality of independent rubber strips, for example, 2 to 4 rubber strips, are applied, the same effect can be obtained. That is, in the present invention, the end portion of the circumferential reinforcing layer is not provided under the circumferential groove, and the overlap amount in the circumferential direction between the end portions of the rubber strips is set to the appropriate range described above.
- it is possible to sufficiently exhibit the desired effect of suppressing groove cracks and there is no limitation on this point. For example, even when the main materials of the plurality of rubber strips are different from each other, a sufficient groove crack suppressing effect can be obtained.
- the production efficiency can be improved by winding two independent rubber strips simultaneously by two unwinding means.
- the structure has no end of the circumferential reinforcing layer under the circumferential groove, and the overlap amount in the circumferential direction of the ends of the rubber strips is described above.
- it is possible to sufficiently exhibit the desired effect of suppressing groove cracks, and there is no limitation in this respect as well.
- a sufficient groove crack suppressing effect can be obtained.
- the tire of the present invention can be manufactured by the manufacturing method of the present invention described above, and has a structure that does not have the end portion of the circumferential reinforcing layer under the circumferential groove. It is hard to generate.
- the tire of the present invention is particularly limited with respect to a specific structure other than a point having a circumferential reinforcing layer in which a tread portion has three or more circumferential grooves and a rubber strip is wound spirally. It is not a thing.
- such a tire has a carcass layer composed of one or more carcass plies 13 in which a plurality of reinforcing cords are juxtaposed and embedded in a covering rubber.
- Such a carcass layer normally extends in a toroidal shape between a pair of left and right bead portions, and is wound up and locked around a bead core embedded in each bead portion.
- the circumferential reinforcing layer 12 By arranging the circumferential reinforcing layer 12 on the outer side of the steel belt 14, it is possible to enhance the tagging effect during rotation, and the effect of improving a wide range of performance such as high-speed durability, steering stability, sound / vibration characteristics is obtained. It is done.
- the region in which the circumferential reinforcing layer 12 is disposed in the tire width direction is not particularly limited, but preferably, the steel belt 14 is covered so as to cover the entire width of the steel belt 14 as illustrated. It is arranged in a range wider than the width.
- general-purpose organic fibers such as nylon can be used.
- PEN polyethylene naphthalate
- PET polyethylene terephthalate
- aramid aramid
- a hybrid cord including these can be used.
- the rubber strip was wound with a gap S of 4 mm in the center region in the tire width direction. About the 30 mm width part of the outer side area, it was wound without a gap.
- the outer side in the tire width direction of the center side end portions 12Bs and 12Ae among the ends at the winding start position and the winding end position of the two rubber strips is substantially symmetrical with respect to the tire equatorial plane.
- the center side end portions 12Bs and 12Ae are located at rib-like land portions 2a (width W: 24 mm) that are different in the tire width direction. It was placed in a completely overlapping area.
- the end portions on the center side of the two rubber strips overlap in the tire radial direction, and in the region overlapping the center side circumferential groove (center main groove) 1a, the gap S between the windings of the rubber strips is substantially reduced. It was zero. Further, the distance L in the tire circumferential direction between the center side end portions 12Bs and 12Ae of the two rubber strips was 250 mm.
- the tires from the tire equator plane are substantially symmetrical with respect to the tire equatorial plane with respect to the tire width direction outer sides of the center side end portions 12Bs and 12Ae of the ends at the winding start position and winding end position of the two rubber strips.
- a circumferential reinforcing layer is formed in the same manner as in Example 1 except that the center end portions 12Bs and 12Ae are arranged in a region that completely overlaps the center main groove 1a in the tire width direction, with the width direction distance x being 3 mm. Then, a test tire of Comparative Example 1 was produced.
- ⁇ Deteriorated drum test> With respect to the test tires of Example 1 and Comparative Example 1, a deterioration drum test was performed in accordance with the following to evaluate the occurrence of groove cracks when the position of the end of the rubber strip was changed. The result is shown in the graph of FIG. First, each test tire was allowed to deteriorate for 8 weeks in a constant temperature chamber at a temperature of 80 ° C. under O 2 filling conditions. Thereafter, each test tire was assembled on a rim having a rim size of 6.5 J, and a drum test was performed under the conditions of an internal pressure of 230 kPa, a load of 615 kgf, a speed of 60 km / h, and a traveling distance of 50,000 km.
- the crack length of the crack generated in the center main groove for each travel distance was measured for one round of the tire, the sum was calculated, and the sum of the crack lengths during the 20,000 km travel of Comparative Example 1 was calculated.
- the index value is 100. It shows that a groove crack is suppressed, so that a numerical value is small.
- the deformation that causes groove cracks has a maximum value mainly at the ground contact edge (stepping side and kicking side), in addition to those caused by in-cross section distortion caused by wiping deformation in the cross section.
- both deformation factors are added and an initial crack occurs in a relatively short period of time. It has been found that the crack extends at an early stage throughout the central circumferential groove as the core of the crack.
- by winding so that the end of the rubber strip is not disposed in the center main groove it becomes possible to avoid the influence of excessive distortion due to the rigidity reduction of the end of the rubber strip, thereby preventing the groove crack. Is significantly suppressed.
- Examples 2 to 4 Comparative Examples 2 and 3>
- a circumferential reinforcing layer was formed in the same manner as in Example 1, and test tires of Examples 2 to 4 and Comparative Examples 2 and 3 were produced.
- the deterioration drum test was conducted in the same manner as described above, and the degree of occurrence of groove cracks after running 20,000 km was confirmed for each test tire.
- the evaluation was performed based on the total crack length obtained by measuring the length of the crack generated in the central circumferential groove for the entire circumference of the tire. It shows that a groove crack is suppressed, so that a numerical value is small.
- the degree of uneven wear of the rib-like land portion adjacent to the central circumferential groove was evaluated.
- the evaluation was performed by measuring the groove depth of the central circumferential groove at 16 locations on the circumference, and using the PP value. The smaller the value, the lower the tendency for uneven wear.
- the end of the rubber strip is disposed in a region that overlaps the rib-like land portion while avoiding the circumferential groove, and the width W of the rib-like land portion and the width G of the rubber strip are G ⁇ W It was confirmed that the occurrence of groove cracks was effectively suppressed in the test tires of the respective examples satisfying the above relationship while ensuring good uneven wear resistance.

Abstract
Description
<実施例1>
