Definitions
- the present invention relates to a highly water-repellent and highly oil-absorbing boron nitride powder and a method for producing the same, and intends to significantly improve makeup when applied to cosmetics.
- the present invention also relates to a cosmetic using the above boron nitride powder.
- the highly water-repellent and highly oil-absorbing boron nitride powder of the present invention is suitable for use in oil-based cosmetics such as powder foundations among cosmetics.
- oil-based cosmetics have the advantage that the number of reworking can be reduced because they do not lift up due to sweat or the like, and once applied, take a long time.
- Boron nitride powder (also referred to as BN powder) is attracting attention as a pigment for cosmetics (also referred to as cosmetics) because of its superior lubricity compared to other materials.
- boron nitride powder as a cosmetic extender has been increasing, focusing on the excellent lubricity of boron nitride powder.
- Cosmetic pigments are bases that disperse colored pigments and greatly affect the feeling of use such as “Nobi” (properly applied on the skin surface) and “mochi” (permanently applied to the skin). Effect.
- conventional extender pigments for cosmetics are mostly natural ores and resins, and are not always satisfactory in terms of usability and stability.
- inorganic materials such as talc, mica, and sericite have catalytic activity, and are therefore said to cause deterioration of fragrances and oils and cause a strange odor.
- resin materials such as nylon powder and polyethylene powder are chemically stable, there is a problem that moldability is deteriorated.
- the BN powder has a feature that it is superior to natural ore and resin with respect to “Nobi” and “mochi”. The reason is considered that BN powder has not only excellent lubricity but also a flat shape, and therefore has an appropriate hiding power and adhesion.
- Patent Literature 1 and Patent Literature 2 have been proposed. By these production methods, supply of a boron nitride powder having a chemically stable and flat shape can be expected.
- the present invention advantageously responds to the above-mentioned demands, and an object thereof is to propose a boron nitride powder for cosmetics, which has a significantly improved “mochi” compared with the conventional one, together with its advantageous production method. Another object of the present invention is to propose a cosmetic material in which “mochi” is remarkably improved by using the above boron nitride powder.
- the inventors have found that the “mochi” of the powder foundation is closely related to the surface properties of the contained BN powder. That is, it has been found that “mochi” is remarkably improved by making the surface of the BN powder highly water-repellent and highly oil-absorbing.
- “mochi” of cosmetics is closely related to the oil absorption amount of the constituent powder of cosmetics.
- the state on the skin surface varies greatly depending on the difference in oil absorption on the powder surface. That is, if the amount of oil absorption of the powder is small, the powder floats due to perspiration and the “mochi” becomes worse.
- the oil absorption amount is large, the floating of the powder is suppressed and “mochi” is improved. Therefore, in order to improve “mochi”, it is necessary to improve the oil absorption of the powder, that is, the BN powder. Further, the oil absorption tends to be higher as the BN powder has higher water repellency. For this purpose, it is effective to reduce the functional groups on the powder surface.
- BN powder uses an oxide such as boric acid or boron oxide as a raw material, boron may remain in the final product.
- oxide such as boric acid or boron oxide
- boron which is an impurity
- a large amount of organic functional groups are present on the surface of the BN powder. It is in a residual form. Therefore, high water repellency cannot be obtained.
- Heat treatment is effective for reducing the functional groups remaining on the surface after washing.
- the water repellency also decreases due to the oxidation of BN.
- the inventors have made various studies on a method for removing the functional group on the surface without oxidizing the BN powder and improving the water repellency advantageously. As a result, it was found that the intended purpose is achieved by heat treatment in a non-oxidizing reduced-pressure atmosphere.
- the present invention is based on the above findings.
- the gist configuration of the present invention is as follows.
- High repellency characterized by comprising primary particles of BN having a flat shape and aggregates of the primary particles, having a water permeation rate of less than 1 mm 2 / s and an oil absorption of 100 ml / 100 g to 500 ml / 100 g.
- Aqueous and highly oil-absorbing boron nitride powder characterized by comprising primary particles of BN having a flat shape and aggregates of the primary particles, having a water permeation rate of less than 1 mm 2 / s and an oil absorption of 100 ml / 100 g to 500 ml / 100 g.
- Aqueous and highly oil-absorbing boron nitride powder Aqueous and highly oil-absorbing boron nitride powder.
- the boron nitride powder of the present invention is excellent in lubricity and has an action of spreading so as to slide with a slight force, smooth elongation can be achieved in a rubbing operation during use of cosmetics. Further, according to the cosmetics of the present invention, resistance to sweat and the like secreted from the skin is improved by improving water repellency and oil absorption. As a result, “mochi”, a glossy finish and a transparent feeling (bare skin) Feeling) can be significantly improved.
- the boron nitride powder of the present invention is basically composed of primary particles having a flat shape, and is characterized by being rich in water repellency and having a large oil absorption.
- water repellency will be described.
- Various methods have been proposed as a method for evaluating water repellency.
- a typical method is a method for evaluating water repellency from the contact angle between a powder and a liquid.
- this evaluation method is qualitative and can show a trend, but quantitative evaluation is difficult. Therefore, in the present invention, a water permeation test based on JIS A 6909 (permeability test B method) capable of quantitative evaluation is adopted, and in this water permeation test, the water permeation rate is defined as less than 1 mm 2 / s. did.
- the permeation rate is 1 mm 2 / s or more, the presence of functional groups cannot be avoided on the surface of the BN powder, and satisfactory high water repellency cannot be obtained. More preferably, it is 0.8 mm 2 / s or less. Note that the lower limit of the permeation rate is not particularly limited, and may be zero.
- the BN powder having water repellency is characterized by few surface functional groups.
- As a method for evaluating the functional group on the surface it is common to analyze the amount of impurities. As impurities, oxygen and carbon occupy most of them, and oxygen exists as OH groups and carbonyl groups on the surface of the BN powder, thereby reducing the water repellency and oil absorption of the powder. Further, when B elutes, the damage to the skin is great, so it is desirable to reduce the amount of eluting B to 100 ppm or less.
- the elution B amount correlates with the specific surface area of the powder, and when the specific surface area exceeds 10 m 2 / g, the elution B amount tends to increase.
- the specific surface area may be 10 m 2 / g or less. preferable.
- the specific surface area increases, the surface activity increases, and the bonding force between the particles increases to produce strong agglomerates, which has the disadvantage that the feeling of roughness increases. Is preferably 10 m 2 / g or less.
- the specific surface area of the BN powder aggregate is 1 to 10 m 2 / g. It is preferable to set it as the range. More preferably, it is in the range of 2 to 5 m 2 / g.
- the oxygen content in the BN powder exceeds 1.5% by mass, boron oxide as an impurity increases, and when such BN is used in cosmetics, there are disadvantages such as damage to the skin.
- the content is preferably 1.5% by mass or less. More preferably, it is 1.0 mass% or less.
- the pH of the BN powder is preferably about 5 to 9 from the viewpoint of safety. The pH of the BN powder was measured according to the provisions of the Quasi-drug Raw Material Standard 2006 (Pharmaceutical Daily).
- the oil absorption amount is a matter closely related to the finish of the cosmetic and “mochi”, and the higher the value, the better.
- the oil absorption of talc and conventional BN powder was only around 80 ml / 100 g.
- the water repellency and hence the oil absorption of the BN powder can be increased to 100 ml / 100 g or more by performing the heat treatment in a non-oxidizing reduced pressure atmosphere. It should be noted that if this oil absorption amount becomes too large, there will be a problem that the viscosity, bulk density, etc. of the compound at the time of manufacturing the cosmetics will increase, so the upper limit of the oil absorption amount was set to 500 ml / 100 g.
- the range is preferably 150 to 400 ml / 100 g.
- FIG. 1 shows a comparison between the oil absorption of talc and conventional BN powder, which are typical conventional extender pigments, and the BN powder (Nos. 1 and 2) of the present invention.
- the BN powders (Nos. 1 and 2) of the present invention are shown as Nos. 1 and 2 in Table 1 below, respectively.
- the oil absorption of the BN powder of the present invention is significantly improved as compared with conventional BN powder and talc.
- the primary particles of the BN of the present invention are preferably those having a flat shape with an average major axis of 2 to 20 ⁇ m and a thickness of 0.05 to 0.5 ⁇ m. If the average major axis of the primary particles is less than 2 ⁇ m, it is difficult to produce, while if it exceeds 20 ⁇ m, the orientation is exerted, and when used in cosmetics, the feeling of use such as moist feeling and gloss becomes worse. If the thickness of the primary particles is less than 0.05 ⁇ m, tabular grains suitable for cosmetics of 5 to 10 ⁇ m that can exhibit lubricity are not formed. On the other hand, if the thickness exceeds 0.5 ⁇ m, it is applied to the skin when applied. The transparency is lowered and the flat surface cannot be kept smooth.
- the proportion of the boron nitride powder in the cosmetic pigment is preferably 0.1 to 70% by mass. The reason is that if this ratio is less than 0.1% by mass, the effect of improving “adverse” and adhesion as expected in the present invention is poor. On the other hand, if it exceeds 70% by mass, the glare characteristic peculiar to BN powder becomes strong and appropriate. This is because a high gloss cannot be obtained.
- a high-purity turbulent structure BN powder is prepared as a raw material.
- the turbulent layer structure means a BN powder that does not take a sharp hexagonal peak by X-ray diffraction and has a structure that is not broadly crystallized.
- Such BN powder is prepared by uniformly mixing boric acid and / or a dehydrate thereof, urea and / or a compound thereof (dicyandiamide, melamine, etc.) and boron carbide (B 4 C), and heating in an inert gas atmosphere. Can be obtained.
- the obtained BN powder is subjected to a heat treatment in an inert gas atmosphere at a temperature of 1500 to 2300 ° C.
- pulverization and boric acid is removed by a washing treatment, at a temperature of 300 ° C. or higher, and
- a non-oxidizing reduced-pressure atmosphere with a furnace pressure of 0.01 MPa or less, the functional groups on the powder surface can be effectively reduced to exhibit high water repellency and high oil absorption.
- the treatment atmosphere in the heat treatment before pulverization is an inert gas atmosphere is that BN is easily combined with oxygen and is therefore prevented.
- the heating temperature was set to 1500 to 2300 ° C. If the processing temperature was less than 1500 ° C, a powder with sufficiently grown crystals could not be obtained. It is because it falls.
- the reason why the heating temperature in the heat treatment for removing the functional group is set to 300 ° C. or higher is that a temperature of 300 ° C. or higher is required to completely remove the organic dispersant.
- the upper limit of the heating temperature is not particularly limited, but about 2300 ° C. is sufficient.
- the reason why the atmosphere at this time is a non-oxidizing atmosphere and a reduced pressure atmosphere of 0.01 MPa or less is to effectively remove the separated functional groups from the system and prevent reoxidation and adsorption.
- the BN powder of the present invention is effectively used mainly as a cosmetic pigment for a powder foundation, but can be used for other purposes as described below. That is, it can be suitably used for makeup cosmetics such as white powder, base material, face color, blusher, and eye shadow, and skin care cosmetics such as sunscreen, milky lotion, and cosmetic liquid.
- makeup cosmetics such as white powder, base material, face color, blusher, and eye shadow
- skin care cosmetics such as sunscreen, milky lotion, and cosmetic liquid.
- the basic components of the cosmetics as described above are not particularly limited, and those conventionally known can be used.
- BN powder and inorganic powder (for example, silicic anhydride) in the conventional components can be used.
- the BN powder of the present invention may be used.
- this BN powder bulk was pulverized with a pin mill, washed and dried to reduce the B content to 100 ppm or less (conventional example). Subsequently, the obtained powder was subjected to heat treatment at 1000 ° C. for 10 hours in a nitrogen atmosphere reduced to 0.005 MPa (No. 1). Further, the obtained powder was subjected to heat treatment at 600 ° C. for 10 hours in a nitrogen atmosphere reduced to 0.005 MPa (No. 2). Table 1 shows the quality evaluation results of the BN powder thus obtained. Table 1 also shows the results of examining the water repellency, oil absorption, elution B amount and pH of the obtained BN powder. Further, for comparison, the results of similar investigations are also shown in Table 1 for conventional BN powder and talc.
- the water repellency, oil absorption amount and elution B amount of the BN powder were measured as follows.

Abstract
