Abstract

 水素脆性による転がり軸受などの転走面での剥離を効果的に防止でき、かつ、高温高速耐久性に優れ、長時間使用可能なグリース組成物または潤滑油組成物を提供する。グリース封入軸受1は、内輪2および外輪3と、複数の転動体4とを備え、この転動体の周囲にグリース組成物7を封止するためのシール部材6を内輪2および外輪3の軸方向両端開口部8a、8bに設けてなり、該グリース組成物7は、基油と、増ちょう剤とからなるベースグリースに添加剤を配合してなり、上記添加剤は、植物由来のポリフェノール化合物およびその分解化合物から選ばれた少なくとも一つ化合物を含有し、該化合物は、タンニン、没食子酸、エラグ酸、クロロゲン酸、コーヒー酸、クルクミン、ケルセチン、キナ酸などである。

Description

グリース組成物、グリース封入軸受、プロペラシャフト用自在継手、潤滑油組成物、および焼結含油軸受
 本発明は、潤滑に用いるグリース組成物および潤滑油組成物に関し、特に、添加剤として、植物由来のポリフェノール化合物を含有するグリース組成物、および潤滑油組成物に関する。また、上記グリース組成物を用いたグリース封入軸受、およびプロペラシャフト用自在継手に関する。具体的には、オルタネータ、コンプレッサ、カーエアコン用電磁クラッチ、中間プーリ、電動ファンモータなどの自動車電装・補機に用いる転がり軸受、各種モータに用いる転がり軸受、複写機の定着ローラに用いる転がり軸受、自動車のプロペラシャフト用等速ジョイント、プロペラシャフト用カルダンジョイントなどに関する。また、焼結された軸受成形品に上記潤滑油組成物を含浸してなる焼結含油軸受に関する。
 自動車における電装部品や補機、産業機械におけるモータは、年々小型化や高性能、高出力が求められており、使用条件が厳しくなってきている。これらには、転がり軸受が使用されており、その潤滑には主としてグリース組成物が用いられている。ところが、高温下での高速回転等使用条件が過酷になることで、転がり軸受の転走面に白色組織変化を伴った特異的な剥離が早期に生じるおそれがある。
 この特異的な剥離は、通常の金属疲労により生じる転走面内部からの剥離と異なり、転走面表面の比較的浅いところから生じる破壊現象である。これは、グリース組成物の分解などによって発生する水素が原因の水素脆性による剥離と考えられている。このような早期に発生する白色組織変化を伴った特異な剥離現象を防ぐ方法として、例えば、グリース組成物に不動態化剤を添加する方法が知られている(特許文献1参照)。また、グリース組成物にビスマスジチオカーバメートを添加する方法が知られている(特許文献2参照)。
 近年において、ACモータ、DCモータなどの汎用モータでは、モータの小型化が進んでいる。これに伴い、モータの回転子を支持する軸受がより高速、高面圧下で運転される傾向にある。これらのモータには、潤滑性を付与するためにグリース組成物が封入される。このグリース組成物は、基油および増ちょう剤と、必要に応じて添加剤とを混練して得られる。基油としては、鉱油やエステル油、シリコーン油、エーテル油などの合成潤滑油が一般的に使用されている。また、増ちょう剤としては、リチウム石けん等の金属石けんやウレア化合物が一般的に使用されている。また、添加剤としては、必要に応じて酸化防止剤、さび止め剤、金属不活性剤、粘度指数向上剤などの各種添加剤が配合される。
 軸受などに用いられる潤滑油やグリース組成物には、高温耐久性向上のために、上記した酸化防止剤として、アルキルジチオりん酸亜鉛などの有機亜鉛化合物や、アルキル化ジフェニルアミンなどのアミン系化合物などを単独で、または、複数種類を組み合わせて用いている。
 家電や産業機器などに使用されるモータ軸受は、高温高速回転で使用され、静音性、高温高速耐久性に優れていることが要求されている。従来、高温耐久性に優れ、冷時異音を抑え、高温高荷重下での剥離性に優れたグリース組成物として、合成炭化水素油とエステル油とからなる基油にウレア系増ちょう剤等を配合した組成物が知られている(特許文献3および特許文献4参照)。また、高温高速回転条件における焼き付き寿命が長い潤滑組成物として、基油にエステル油を含み、脂肪族ジウレア化合物を必須とした増ちょう剤を3~30重量%含む組成物が知られている(特許文献5参照)。
 一方、FR車や4WD車に使用されるプロペラシャフトは、トランスミッション側とディファレンシャルギヤ側とを連結するシャフトであり、そして途中に自在継手が適宜設けられている。この自在継手の潤滑剤としては、従来、ホイールベアリング用グリースや汎用グリース(マルチパーパスグリース)が多く用いられていた。
 電装・補機である電磁クラッチ、オルタネータ、フライホイールダンパは高温になる。このため、電装・補機に用いる転がり軸受に封入するグリース組成物には、一般にウレア系グリースが使用されている。さらに、200℃付近の超高温になるファンクラッチに用いられる転がり軸受に封入するグリース組成物には、増ちょう剤としてフッ素樹脂粒子を用い、基油にパーフルオロポリエーテル油を用いた耐熱性に優れるフッ素グリースが使用されている。
 また、複写機のヒートローラは、熱可塑性樹脂と着色剤からなるトナーを加熱溶融して、圧力により紙面に定着させるものである。このため、ローラ軸心にヒータが挿入されており、このヒートローラを支持する転がり軸受は200℃付近の超高温になる。そのため、ヒートローラを支持する転がり軸受には上記フッ素グリースが封入されている。
 従来、フッ素グリースとして、基油にフッ素油とフッ素油より比重が小さく、フッ素油と混合しない油を含有するグリース組成物を封入した玉軸受(特許文献6参照)が知られている。また、基油に芳香族エステル、ポリフェニルエーテル、アルキル化ポリフェニルエーテル、エステル油、およびペルフルオロ-ポリアルキルエーテル油を用い、増ちょう剤にジカルバミドを用い、その他PTFE、ポリイミドなどの固体潤滑剤と一般的な添加剤を用いたグリース組成物(特許文献7参照)なども知られている。
 一般的に、軸受用潤滑剤としては、潤滑油組成物またはグリース組成物が多用されている。これらの潤滑油組成物またはグリース組成物の主成分となる基油としては、鉱物油やポリ-α-オレフィン(以下、PAOと記す)油、エステル油、シリコーン油、フッ素油などの合成油が使用されている。近年、省エネルギーの観点から、軸受などに用いられる潤滑油組成物またはグリース組成物について、低摩擦化、低粘化の要求が高まっている。また、上述のように、軸受の小型化、高性能化の要求に伴い、軸受に封入される潤滑剤に対し高温耐久性向上の要求も高まっている。
 この要求に対し解決の可能性を示唆する技術として、例えば、導電性付与剤としてイオン性液体を添加した潤滑剤を用いた流体軸受装置(特許文献8参照)が知られている。また、イオン性液体を含んでなる基油と、増ちょう剤とからなるグリース組成物(特許文献9参照)が知られている。これらは常温溶融塩であるイオン性液体が、様々な有機イオンの組合せによって低粘度であることを利用したものである。
 電子写真装置を用いた複写機や印刷機(プリンター)には、感光ドラム、各種ローラなどの回転部品を回転自在に支持するため軸受が多用されている。感光ドラムは、表面に静電荷潜像を形成し、これにトナーを帯電付着させて転写するものである。電子写真装置の分野では、求められる回転精度が高いことから、転がり軸受が使用されてきた。しかし、転がり軸受は部品点数が多く、経済的な理由から安価なすべり軸受の適用も試みられてきた。このようなすべり軸受として、焼結含油軸受が挙げられる。
 一般に、焼結含油軸受は、焼結した軸受成形品の気孔中に潤滑油を含浸保持させ、その使用時に潤滑油を摺動面に滲出させることによって、長期間安定した摩擦特性を得るようにしたものである。
 このような焼結軸受の成形品は、通常、鉄、銅、亜鉛、錫、黒鉛、ニッケル等もしくはこれらを組み合わせた合金製の微粉粒を、混合、圧縮成形、焼成、サイジングなどの処理を施して得られ、このものは、均一な多孔質組織を有する。
 また、焼結した軸受成形品に含浸する潤滑油としては、鉱油、ジエステル油、PAO油、エーテル油などの合成潤滑油(特許文献10参照)が知られている。
 このような材料で構成される焼結含油軸受は、一般に、その製造コストが転がり軸受に比べて安価である。このため、複写機や印刷機の用途においても最近の小型化、高速印刷などの高性能化に伴う機器内部の高温雰囲下での使用に対応できる軸受として利用範囲が拡がりつつある。
 これらの高温雰囲気下で使用される用途には、従来、フッ素グリースを封入した転がり軸受(特許文献11参照)や、ポリフェニレンサルファイド樹脂やポリイミド樹脂を使用したすべり軸受(特許文献12参照)が使用されてきた。

 近年、自動車における電装部品や補機、産業機械におけるモータ等では、高温下で、高速運転-急減速運転-急加速運転-急停止が頻繁に行なわれる等ますます転がり軸受の使用条件が過酷化され、特許文献1の不動態化剤や特許文献2のビスマスジチオカーバメートを添加する方法では剥離現象を防ぐ対策として不十分になってきている。
 特許文献3~特許文献7のような潤滑(グリース)組成物を使用する場合や、これらに従来の酸化防止剤を組み合わせて添加する場合でも、自動車の電装・補機、複写機の定着ローラ、近年の家電や産業機器などにおいて高温高速回転で使用される軸受に封入した際に、高温高速耐久性について性能を満足させることができない場合がある。
 電装・補機は近年、自動車の小型化、軽量化および静粛性向上の要求に伴い、同様の小型化、軽量化およびエンジンルーム内の密閉化が図られている。その一方、装置の性能自体にも高出力、高効率化の要求が増大している。この電装・補機に用いる転がり軸受に封入されるグリース組成物は、超高温に耐えるものでなければならない。また、200℃付近の超高温になるファンクラッチや複写機のヒートローラを支持する転がり軸受に封入するグリース組成物には、フッ素グリースを用いているが、フッ素グリースは高価であり、グリース組成物および該グリース封入軸受のコストダウンの妨げになる。
 特許文献8には、潤滑剤が導電性付与添加剤であるイオン性液体を含有することにより、回転部位に静電気が蓄積することなく、高速回転等の使用条件下でも安定かつ低トルク損失を実現できることが記載されている。しかし、イオン性液体を含有することによる潤滑剤の低粘化効果や高温耐久性の向上効果については不明である。また、特許文献9についても、イオン性液体を用いて潤滑剤の低粘化が図られているものの、イオン性液体による軸受鋼の腐食が進行しやすくなると予想され、この潤滑剤を用いた軸受の高温耐久性をより高めるには十分ではない。
 密封、高温、高速、高トルク、高角度などのプロペラシャフト用自在継手が使用される苛酷な環境下においては、上記のホイールベアリング用グリースや汎用グリース(マルチパーパスグリース)では必ずしも性能を満足させ得るとはいえない。このため、該過酷な環境下でも優れた性能を発揮するプロペラシャフトの自在継手用グリースの開発が望まれている。
 特許文献10に記載された従来の焼結含油軸受を、120~130℃またはこれ以上の高温雰囲気下で使用すると、潤滑油の酸化劣化などの経時的変化が早く起こるおそれがある。このため、使用開始後の早期に回転軸のトルクが上昇したり、焼き付きが生じるおそれがある。
 また、焼結含油軸受を転がり軸受の代替品として使用するためには、ラジアル荷重の支持に加えて、スラスト荷重をワッシャを介して軸受端面で支持する必要がある。この際、含浸する潤滑油に所要の潤滑特性、極圧性、摩擦熱に対する熱安定性が要求されることとなるが、これらを満足する潤滑油を用いた焼結含油軸受は知られていない。また、特許文献11の転がり軸受および特許文献12のすべり軸受は非常に高価である。
 本発明は以上のような問題に対処するためになされたものである。すなわち、水素脆性による転がり軸受などの転走面での剥離を効果的に防止でき、かつ、高温高速耐久性に優れ、長時間使用可能なグリース組成物を提供することを目的とする。また、該グリース組成物において、同時に、低摩擦、低粘化、およびコストダウンを図ることを目的とする。また、該グリース組成物を封入してなるグリース封入軸受、プロペラシャフト用自在継手を提供すること目的とする。
 また、高温雰囲気下でスラスト荷重およびラジアル荷重を同時に受けるような過酷な条件下において、長期間にわたり安定した摩擦特性を焼結含油軸受に対し付与できる潤滑油組成物を提供することを目的とする。また、焼結した軸受成形品にこの潤滑油組成物を含浸してなる焼結含油軸受を提供することを目的とする。
 本発明のグリース組成物は、基油と、増ちょう剤とからなるベースグリースに添加剤を配合してなるグリース組成物であって、上記添加剤は、(1)植物由来のポリフェノール化合物、および、(2)植物由来のポリフェノール化合物の分解化合物、から選ばれた少なくとも一つの化合物を含有することを特徴とする。 
 上記植物由来のポリフェノール化合物は、タンニンであることを特徴とする。また、上記植物由来のポリフェノール化合物は、没食子酸、エラグ酸、クロロゲン酸、コーヒー酸、クルクミン、ケルセチン、または、これらいずれかの誘導体であることを特徴とする。また、上記没食子酸の誘導体は、没食子酸エチルであることを特徴とする。
 上記植物由来のポリフェノール化合物の分解化合物は、1分子内に複数の水酸基を有することを特徴とする。また、上記植物由来のポリフェノール化合物の分解化合物は、キナ酸またはその誘導体であることを特徴とする。
 上記化合物の配合割合は、ベースグリース 100 重量部に対して 0.05~10 重量部であることを特徴とする。
 上記基油は、40℃における動粘度が 10~100 mm2/sec であることを特徴とする。
 上記基油は、鉱油、アルキルジフェニルエーテル油、エステル油およびポリ-α-オレフィン(以下、PAOと記す)油から選ばれた少なくとも一つの油であることを特徴とする。
 上記増ちょう剤は、ウレア系化合物であることを特徴とする。また、上記増ちょう剤は、金属石けんであることを特徴とする。
 上記基油は、カチオン成分とアニオン成分とからなるイオン性液体を含んでなることを特徴とする。特に、上記カチオン成分はイミダゾリウムカチオンであり、上記アニオン成分はビス-トリフルオロメチルスルホニル-イミドアニオンであることを特徴とする。また、上記イオン性液体を含む基油を用いる場合において、上記増ちょう剤がフッ素樹脂粒子であることを特徴とする。
 上記基油は、パーフルオロポリエーテル(以下、PFPEと記す)油であり、上記増ちょう剤は、フッ素樹脂粒子であることを特徴とする。また、上記フッ素樹脂粒子は、ポリテトラフルオロエチレン(以下、PTFEと記す)樹脂粒子であることを特徴とする。
 本発明のグリース封入軸受は、上記グリース組成物が封入されてなることを特徴とする。また、上記グリース封入軸受は、内輪および外輪と、この内輪および外輪間に介在する複数の転動体とを備え、この転動体の周囲に上記グリース組成物を封止するためのシール部材を上記内輪および外輪の軸方向両端開口部に設けてなることを特徴とする。また、上記グリース封入軸受は、深溝玉軸受であることを特徴とする。
 上記グリース封入軸受は、産業機械または電装機器のモータに用いられ、モータの回転子を支持する転がり軸受であることを特徴とする。また、上記グリース封入軸受は、自動車電装・補機に用いられる転がり軸受であることを特徴とする。また、上記グリース封入軸受は、複写機の定着ローラに用いられる転がり軸受であることを特徴とする。
 本発明のプロペラシャフト用自在継手は、トランスミッションからの回転トルクをプロペラシャフトに伝達するプロペラシャフト用自在継手であって、該自在継手は上記グリース組成物を封入してなることを特徴とする。
 本発明の潤滑油組成物は、焼結した軸受成形品に含浸して焼結含油軸受を得るために用いられる潤滑油組成物であり、潤滑油に添加剤を配合してなり、上記添加剤は、(1)植物由来のポリフェノール化合物、および、(2)植物由来のポリフェノール化合物の分解化合物、から選ばれた少なくとも一つの化合物を含有することを特徴とする。また、上記植物由来のポリフェノール化合物の分解化合物は、1分子内に複数の水酸基を有することを特徴とする。
 上記植物由来のポリフェノール化合物は、タンニンであることを特徴とする。また、上記植物由来のポリフェノール化合物は、没食子酸、クロロゲン酸、コーヒー酸、クルクミン、ケルセチン、または、これらいずれかの誘導体であることを特徴とする。また、上記没食子酸の誘導体は、没食子酸エチルであることを特徴とする。
 上記化合物の配合割合は、潤滑油組成物全体に対して 0.05~10 重量%であることを特徴とする。
 上記潤滑油は、エステル油およびPAO油から選ばれた少なくとも一つの油であることを特徴とする。
 本発明の焼結含油軸受は、焼結した軸受成形品に上記潤滑油組成物を含浸してなることを特徴とする。
 本発明のグリース組成物は、上記のように、基油と増ちょう剤とからなるベースグリースに(1)植物由来のポリフェノール化合物、および(2)植物由来のポリフェノール化合物の分解化合物、から選ばれた少なくとも一つの化合物を含有する添加剤が配合されている。このグリース組成物を軸受に封入することで、自動車や産業機械に使用される軸受で見られる水素脆性による特異な剥離の発生を抑制することができる。また、従来の酸化防止剤などを配合したグリース組成物よりも耐酸化劣化性を向上させることができ、高温高速下での軸受の長寿命化が図れる。
 本発明のグリース封入軸受は、上記グリース組成物を封入しているので、転走面で生じる白色組織変化を伴った特異的な剥離を効果的に防止でき、かつ、グリース組成物が耐酸化劣化性に優れ、高温高速下での軸受寿命が長寿命となる。このため、自動車電装・補機、複写機の定着ローラ、家電、産業機器などに用いる高温高速回転で使用される軸受として好適に使用できる。
 例えば、オルタネータ、コンプレッサ、カーエアコン用電磁クラッチ、中間プーリ、電動ファンモータ等の自動車電装・補機等の転がり軸受、換気扇用モータ、燃料電池用ブロアモータ、クリーナモータ、ファンモータ、サーボモータ、ステッピングモータなどの産業機械用モータ、自動車のスタータモータ、電動パワーステアリングモータ、ステアリング調整用チルトモータ、ワイパーモータ、パワーウィンドウモータなどの電装機器用モータ、などの高温や高速回転で使用されるモータ用の軸受として好適に使用できる。
 本発明のプロペラシャフト用自在継手は、上記グリース組成物を封入しているので、高温、高速遠心力を受ける密封された環境下において、焼き付きにくく、高温高速耐久性に優れ、長寿命である。
 また、上記グリース組成物において、上記基油をPFPE油、上記増ちょう剤をフッ素樹脂粒子とすることで、軸受の高温高速下での更なる長寿命化が図れる。軸受の長寿命化により、低コスト化が図れる。
 また、上記グリース組成物において、上記基油に、カチオン成分とアニオン成分とからなるイオン性液体を含むことで、低摩擦、低粘化を図れる。このグリース組成物を軸受に封入することで、軸受の低トルク化が図れ、かつ、軸受高温耐久性を向上させることができる。さらに、増ちょう剤として、PTFE樹脂粒子を用いることにより、イオン性液体を含む基油の増ちょう性に優れるとともに、高温耐久性をさらに向上できる。
 本発明の潤滑油組成物は、上記のように、潤滑油に、添加剤として(1)植物由来のポリフェノール化合物、および、(2)植物由来のポリフェノール化合物の分解化合物から選ばれた少なくとも一つの化合物が配合されている。このため、高温雰囲気下においても潤滑油組成物の酸化劣化などの経時的変化が起こりにくい。
 本発明の焼結含油軸受は、上記潤滑油組成物を軸受成形品に含浸してなるので、高温雰囲気下でスラスト荷重およびラジアル荷重を同時に受けるような過酷な条件下でも安定した摩擦特性を長時間維持できる。

 グリース封入転がり軸受について、(1)植物由来のポリフェノール化合物、および(2)植物由来のポリフェノール化合物の分解化合物、から選ばれた少なくとも一つの化合物を含有するグリース組成物を封入し、急加減速試験および高温耐久性試験を行なったところ軸受寿命を延長できることがわかった。これは、上記化合物が、(A)極性基の作用により軸受転走面の金属表面に容易に付着し、摩擦摩耗面または摩耗により露出した金属新生面において該物質が反応し、酸化被膜を軸受転走面に形成することで、グリース組成物の分解による水素の発生が抑制され、軸受転走面における水素脆性に起因する特異な剥離を防止できること、(B)上記化合物がグリース組成物の酸化防止剤として働き酸化劣化が抑制できること、によるためであると考えられる。本発明はこれらの知見に基づくものである。
 本発明において使用できるポリフェノール化合物は、芳香族炭化水素環の水素原子を水酸基(ヒドロキシ基)で置換した、1分子内に複数の水酸基を有する芳香族ヒドロキシ化合物である。ポリフェノール化合物は、ほとんどの植物に含有され、光合成によってできる。本発明において使用するポリフェノール化合物は、植物由来のものである。
 また、上記植物由来のポリフェノール化合物の分解化合物は、該ポリフェノール化合物の加水分解などで生成する芳香族または脂環族ヒドロキシ化合物などである。ポリフェノール化合物と同様の作用効果を得るため、該分解化合物においても、1分子内に複数の水酸基を有することが好ましい。
 本発明において使用できる植物由来のポリフェノール化合物またはその分解化合物としては、例えば、タンニン、没食子酸、エラグ酸、クロロゲン酸、コーヒー酸、キナ酸、クルクミン、ケルセチン、ピロガロール、テアフラビン、アントシアニン、ルチン、リグナン、カテキン等が挙げられる。また、植物由来のセサミン、イソフラボン、クマリンなどから得られるポリフェノール化合物も使用できる。以上のようなポリフェノール化合物またはその分解化合物は、単独で用いても2種類以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。
 これらの中で、より長期間、酸化劣化を抑制できることから、タンニン、没食子酸またはその誘導体、エラグ酸またはその誘導体、クロロゲン酸またはその誘導体、コーヒー酸またはその誘導体、キナ酸またはその誘導体、クルクミンまたはその誘導体、ケルセチンまたはその誘導体を用いることが好ましい。
 特に高温条件下の用途では、クロロゲン酸またはその誘導体、クルクミンまたはその誘導体、ケルセチンまたはその誘導体を用いることが好ましい。
 本発明に用いるタンニンは、分子内に多くのフェノール性水酸基を含み、酸性有機物質として分子量が比較的大きなポリフェノール化合物である。該タンニンは、カシの皮、フシ(没食)、柿などに存在する収斂性の植物成分である。該タンニンは、化学構造の相違により、加水分解性タンニンと縮合型タンニンとに大別される。
 加水分解性タンニンは、酸、アルカリ、酵素で多価フェノール酸と、多価アルコールとに加水分解される。得られる多価フェノール酸としては、主に没食子酸およびその二量体(遊離状態では脱水環化して4環性のエラグ酸となる)の二つのタイプがある。また、得られる多価アルコールとして、ピロガロールなどがある。縮合型タンニンは複数分子のカテキンが炭素-炭素結合で縮合したものである。本発明においては、没食子酸、エラグ酸、ピロガロールなどの分解物を得られる加水分解性タンニンを用いることが好ましい。
 本発明に用いる没食子酸およびエラグ酸は、上記のように加水分解性タンニンを加水分解して得られる多価フェノール酸(ポリフェノール化合物)である。没食子酸は下記式(1)に、エラグ酸は下記式(2)に、それぞれ示す構造を有する。

 本発明に用いる没食子酸の誘導体としては、没食子酸メチル、没食子酸エチル、没食子酸プロピル、没食子酸ブチル、没食子酸ペンチル、没食子酸ヘキシル、没食子酸ヘプチル、没食子酸オクチル等の没食子酸エステルや没食子酸ビスマス等の没食子酸塩が挙げられる。これらの中で潤滑油への溶解性に優れることから、没食子酸エチルを用いることがさらに好ましい。また、エラグ酸についても、同様の誘導体を用いることができる。
 本発明に用いるクロロゲン酸は、コーヒー豆などに含まれるポリフェノール化合物であり、下記式(3)に示す構造を有する。

 本発明に用いるコーヒー酸は、クロロゲン酸の加水分解物であり、芳香族炭化水素環の水素原子を水酸基で置換した分子内に3個の水酸基を有する芳香族ヒドロキシ化合物であり、下記式(4)に示す構造を有する。

 本発明に用いるキナ酸は、クロロゲン酸の加水分解物であり、脂環族炭化水素環の水素原子を水酸基で置換した分子内に5個の水酸基を有する脂環族ヒドロキシ化合物であり、下記式(5)に示す構造を有する。

 本発明のグリース組成物において、植物由来のポリフェノール化合物およびその分解化合物から選ばれた少なくとも一つの化合物の配合割合は、ベースグリース 100 重量部に対して 0.05~10 重量部であることが好ましい。上記化合物の配合割合が 0.05 重量部未満であると、水素脆性による転がり軸受等の転走面での剥離を効果的に防止できない。また、グリースの酸化劣化を効果的に防止できない。上記化合物の配合割合が 10 重量部をこえても剥離防止効果および潤滑剤の酸化劣化を防止する効果がそれ以上に向上しにくい。
 上記配合割合のより好ましい範囲は、ベースグリース 100 重量部に対して 0.1~5 重量部である。この範囲とすることで、高温条件下の用途等においてもグリース酸化劣化を効果的に防止できる。
 本発明のグリース組成物に使用できる基油としては、スピンドル油、冷凍機油、タービン油、マシン油、ダイナモ油等の鉱油、高度精製鉱油、流動パラフィン油、ポリブテン油、フィッシャー・トロプシュ法により合成されたGTL油、PAO油、アルキルナフタレン油、脂環式化合物等の炭化水素系合成油、または、天然油脂、ポリオールエステル油、りん酸エステル油、ポリマーエステル油、芳香族エステル油、炭酸エステル油、ジエステル油、ポリグリコール油等のエステル油、シリコーン油、ポリフェニルエーテル油、アルキルジフェニルエーテル油、アルキルベンゼン油、フッ素化油等の非炭化水素系合成油等が挙げられる。これらを単独で用いても2種類以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。
 PAO油は、通常、α-オレフィンまたは異性化されたα-オレフィンのオリゴマーまたはポリマーの混合物である。α-オレフィンの具体例としては、1-オクテン、1-ノネン、1-デセン、1-ドデセン、1-トリデセン、1-テトラデセン、1-ペンタデセン、1-ヘキサデセン、1-ヘプタデセン、1-オクタデセン、1-ノナデセン、1-エイコセン、1-ドコセン、1-テトラドコセン等を挙げることができ、通常はこれらの混合物が使用される。
 本発明のグリース組成物の基油としては、上記基油の中で耐熱性と潤滑性に優れることから、アルキルジフェニルエーテル油、エステル油およびPAO油から選ばれた少なくとも一つの油を用いることが好ましい。アルキルジフェニルエーテル油およびエステル油は、PAO油と併用することがより好ましい。
 また、上記基油の 40℃における動粘度が 10~100 mm2/sec であることが好ましい。より好ましくは、10~70 mm2/secである。動粘度が、10 mm2/sec 未満である場合には、短時間で基油が劣化し、生成した劣化物が基油全体の劣化を促進するため、軸受等の耐久性を低下させ短寿命となる。また、100 mm2/sec をこえると回転トルクの増加による軸受等の温度上昇が大きくなり、特に高速回転下では温度上昇が大きく、上記ポリフェノール化合物等を配合してもグリース組成物の酸化劣化を十分に防止できなくなるおそれがある。
 本発明のグリース組成物に使用できる増ちょう剤としては、ベントン、シリカゲル、フッ素化合物、リチウム石けん、リチウムコンプレックス石けん、力ルシウム石けん、カルシウムコンプレックス石けん、アルミニウム石けん、アルミニウムコンプレックス石けん等の金属石けん、ジウレア化合物、ポリウレア化合物等のウレア系化合物、PTFE樹脂、テトラフルオロエチレン-パーフルオロアルキルビニルエーテル共重合体(以下、PFAという)樹脂、テトラフルオロエチレン-ヘキサフルオロプロピレン共重合体(以下、FEPという)樹脂などのフッ素樹脂が挙げられる。これらの中で、耐熱性およびコストを考慮するとウレア系化合物が望ましい。
 ウレア系化合物は、イソシアネート化合物とアミン化合物とを反応させることにより得られる。反応性のある遊離基を残さないため、イソシアネート化合物のイソシアネート基とアミン化合物のアミノ基とは略当量となるように配合することが好ましい。
 ジウレア化合物は、例えば、ジイソシアネートとモノアミンとの反応で得られる。ジイソシアネートとしては、フェニレンジイソシアネート、トリレンジイソシアネート、ジフェニルジイソシアネート、ジフェニルメタンジイソシアネート、オクタデカンジイソシアネート、デカンジイソシアネート、ヘキサンジイソシアネー卜等が挙げられ、モノアミンとしては、オクチルアミン、ドデシルアミン、ヘキサデシルアミン、ステアリルアミン、オレイルアミン、アニリン、p-トルイジン、シクロヘキシルアミン等が挙げられる。ポリウレア化合物は、例えば、ジイソシアネートとモノアミン、ジアミンとの反応で得られる。ジイソシアネート、モノアミンとしては、ジウレア化合物の生成に用いられるものと同様のものが挙げられ、ジアミンとしては、エチレンジアミン、プロパンジアミン、ブタンジアミン、ヘキサンジアミン、オクタンジアミン、フェニレンジアミン、トリレンジアミン、キシレンジアミン、ジアミノジフェニルメタン等が挙げられる。
 基油に増ちょう剤を配合して、上記ポリフェノール化合物等を配合するためのベースグリースが得られる。ウレア系化合物を増ちょう剤とするベースグリースは、基油中でイソシアネート化合物とアミン化合物とを反応させて作製する。
 ベースグリース 100 重量部中に占める増ちょう剤の配合割合は、1~40 重量部、好ましくは 3~25 重量部配合される。増ちょう剤の含有量が 1 重量部未満では、増ちょう効果が少なくなり、グリース化が困難となる。40 重量部をこえると得られたベースグリースが硬くなりすぎ、所期の効果が得られ難くなる。
 本発明のグリース組成物における好ましい態様として、PFPE油を基油とし、フッ素樹脂粒子を増ちょう剤としたものが挙げられる。この態様は、高温条件下の用途で特に好ましい。
 PFPE油は、脂肪族炭化水素ポリエーテルの水素原子をフッ素原子で置換した化合物であれば使用できる。そのようなPFPE油を例示すれば、以下の化8および化9で示される側鎖を有するPFPE油と、化10から化12で示される直鎖状のPFPE油とがある。これらは単独でもまた混合しても使用できる。m、nは整数である。
 化8の市販品としてはフォンブリンY(ソルベイ ソレクシス社商品名)、化9の市販品としてはクライトックス(デュポン社商品名)やバリエルタJオイル(NOKクリューバー社商品名)、化10の市販品としてはフォンブリンZ(ソルベイ ソレクシス社商品名)、化11の市販品としてはフォンブリンM(ソルベイ ソレクシス社商品名)、化12の市販品としてはデムナム(ダイキン社商品名)などを例示できる。

 この態様において、増ちょう剤として用いるフッ素樹脂粒子は、上記PFPE油と親和性が高く、高温安定性、耐薬品性を有する粉末が使用できる。フッ素樹脂としては、上記した、PTFE樹脂、PFA樹脂、FEP樹脂などのパーフルオロ系フッ素樹脂が好ましい。特に、PTFE樹脂の粒子が高温安定性、耐薬品性が優れているため好ましい。
 この態様において、上記ベースグリースは、PFPE油を 50~90 重量%、フッ素樹脂粒子を 50~10 重量%配することが好ましい。この範囲の配合とすることにより、軸受封入グリースとして洩れが少なく、長時間トルクを下げられる好ましいちょう度に調整できる。
 本発明のグリース組成物における他の好ましい態様として、基油にイオン性液体を含むものが挙げられる。この態様は、低摩擦、低粘化を図る場合に特に好ましい。
 イオン性液体とは、カチオン成分とアニオン成分とからなるイオン結合性化合物であるにもかかわらず室温付近で液体となる物質をいう。基油としてイオン性液体とその他の油とを併用する場合、耐熱性を維持するために、イオン性液体を基油全体に対して 50 重量%以上とすることが好ましい。
 本発明で使用できるイオン性液体のカチオン成分としては、脂肪族アミンカチオン(下記の化13参照)、脂環式アミンカチオン(下記の化14参照)、イミダゾリウムカチオン(下記の化15参照)、ピリジンカチオン(下記の化16参照)等が挙げられる。これらの中で耐熱性と低温流動性と環境適合性に優れることから、イミダゾリウムカチオンを用いることが好ましい。化13~化16においてRはアルキル基またはアルコキシ基を示す。
 化13~化16においてアニオン成分(X- )としては、ハロゲン化物イオン、SCN-、BF4 -、ClO4 -、PF6 -、(CF3SO22-、(CF3CF2SO22-、CF3SO3 -、CF3COO-、Ph4-、(CF3SO23- 、PF3(C253 - 等が挙げられる。これらの中で耐熱性と低温流動性と環境適合性に優れることから、(CF3SO22-(ビス-トリフルオロメチルスルホニル-イミドアニオン)を用いることが好ましい。

 この態様において、基油は、40℃における動粘度が 100 mm2/sec 以下であることが好ましい。100 mm2/sec をこえるとグリースの十分な低粘化が図れなくなる。基油としてイオン性液体のみを用いる場合、イオン性液体を単独または 2 種類以上組み合わせて上記範囲に調節できる。
 この態様において、増ちょう剤としては、上記した、金属石けん、ウレア系化合物、フッ素樹脂が挙げられる。これらの中で、高温化でのグリースの性状変化を抑えるために耐熱性の良好なフッ素樹脂粒子を用いることが好ましい。フッ素樹脂の中でも基油であるイオン性液体の増ちょう性に優れたPTFE樹脂粒子を用いることが特に好ましい。
 この態様において、増ちょう剤は、グリース組成物全体に対して、3~70 重量%含有させることが好ましい。より好ましくは 5~60 重量%である。増ちょう剤の含有量が 3 重量%未満では、増ちょう効果が少なくなることでグリース化が困難となる。70 重量%をこえると得られたグリースが硬くなりすぎ、所定の効果が得られにくくなる。
 本発明のグリース組成物は、植物由来のポリフェノール化合物とともに、必要に応じて公知のグリース用添加剤を含有させることができる。この添加剤として、例えば、有機亜鉛化合物、アミン系化合物等の酸化防止剤、ベンゾトリアゾールなどの金属不活性剤、ポリメタクリレート、ポリスチレン等の粘度指数向上剤、二硫化モリブデン、グラファイト等の固体潤滑剤、金属スルホネート、ポリアルコールエステルなどの防錆剤、有機モリブデンなどの摩擦低減剤、エステル、アルコールなどの油性剤、りん系化合物などの摩耗防止剤等が挙げられる。これらを単独または2種類以上組み合せて添加できる。
 本発明のグリース組成物は、水素脆性による特異な剥離の発生の抑制、および、高温高速下におけるグリースの耐酸化劣化性の向上により、グリース封入軸受の寿命を向上させることができる。このため、玉軸受、円筒ころ軸受、円すいころ軸受、自動調心ころ軸受、針状ころ軸受、スラスト円筒ころ軸受、スラスト円すいころ軸受、スラスト針状ころ軸受、スラスト自動調心ころ軸受等の封入グリースとして使用できる。
 本発明のグリース組成物が封入されている軸受について図1により説明する。図1は本発明のグリース封入軸受の一例である深溝玉軸受の断面図である。グリース封入軸受1は、外周面に内輪転走面2aを有する内輪2と内周面に外輪転走面3aを有する外輪3とが同心に配置され、内輪転走面2aと外輪転走面3aとの間に複数個の転動体4が配置される。この複数個の転動体4を保持する保持器5が設けられている。また、外輪3等に固定されるシール部材6が内輪2および外輪3の軸方向両端開口部8a、8bにそれぞれ設けられている。少なくとも転動体4の周囲にグリース組成物7が封入される。このグリース組成物7は、基油と、増ちょう剤とからなるベースグリースに、上述の植物由来のポリフェノール化合物およびその分解化合物から選ばれた少なくとも一つを含有する添加剤が配合されている。
 本発明のグリース封入軸受の他の実施例としてモータに用いられるグリース封入軸受を図2により説明する。図2は本発明のモータ用のグリース封入軸受を示すモータの断面図である。モータは、ジャケット9の内周壁に配置されたモータ用マグネットからなる固定子10と、回転軸11に固着された巻線12を巻回した回転子13と、回転軸11に固定された整流子14と、ジャケット9に支持されたエンドフレーム17に配置されたブラシホルダ15と、このブラシホルダ15内に収容されたブラシ16と、を備えている。上記回転軸11は、グリース封入軸受1と、該軸受1のための支持構造とにより、ジャケット9に回転自在に支持されている。グリース封入軸受1が本発明のグリース封入軸受である。
 本発明のグリース封入軸受の他の実施例として自動車電装・補機であるオルタネータに用いられるグリース封入軸受を図3により説明する。図3はオルタネータの構造の断面図である。オルタネータは、静止部材であるハウジングを形成する一対のフレーム18、19に、ロータ20を装着されたロータ回転軸21が、一対のグリース封入軸受1、1で回転自在に支持されている。ロータ20にはロータコイル22が取り付けられ、ロータ20の外周に配置されたステータ23には、120 °の位相で 3 巻のステータコイル24が取り付けられている。ロータ回転軸21は、その先端に取り付けられたプーリ25にベルト(図示省略)で伝達される回転トルクで回転駆動されている。プーリ25は片持ち状態でロータ回転軸21に取り付けられており、ロータ回転軸21の高速回転に伴って振動も発生するため、特にプーリ25側を支持するグリース封入軸受1は、苛酷な負荷を受ける。グリース封入軸受1が本発明のグリース封入軸受である。この用途では、グリース封入軸受1に封入するグリース組成物として、PFPE油を基油とし、フッ素樹脂粒子を増ちょう剤としたものを用いることが好ましい。
 本発明のプロペラシャフト用自在継手の一例を図面に基づいて説明する。図4はプロペラシャフト用ダブルオフセット型等速ジョイントの一部切欠き断面図を示す。図4に示すように、プロペラシャフト用等速ジョイント26は、内輪27、外輪28、ケージ29と6個の鋼球30とで構成され、内輪27および外輪28は、鋼球を収納する軸線に平行なトラックを有する。またケージ29は、鋼球30の動きをコントロールする役目を果たしているが、鋼球30を転がりやすくするため、図4に示すように内径面に円筒部分が設けられている。また、外輪28の外周とシャフト31の外周とをブーツ32で覆い、外輪28と、内輪27と、鋼球30と、ケージ29と、シャフト31と、ブーツ32とに囲まれた空間に上述の本発明のグリース組成物33が封入されている。
 本発明のプロペラシャフト用自在継手の他の例を図面に基づいて説明する。図5はプロペラシャフト用カルダンジョイントを示す。図5(a)は平面図、図5(b)は正面図である。図5に示すように、プロペラシャフト用カルダンジョイント34は、トランスミッション側に連結されて回転する第1ヨーク35と、第1ヨーク35の回転トルクをプロペラシャフト38に伝達する第2ヨーク37と、これら第1ヨーク35の二股の端部35a、35aに設けられた貫通孔と、第2ヨーク37の二股の端部37a、37aに設けられた貫通孔とに十字型にクロスして連結し、第1ヨーク35から第2ヨーク37へ回転トルクを伝達する十字型継手部材36とを備える。十字型継手部材36は、十字型にクロスする短軸36a、36bを有し、短軸36aの先端部は、第2ヨークの端部37a、37aの貫通孔に挿入され、図示しないニードルベアリングを介して回転自在に支持され、第2ヨークのキャップ37bを介して係合ナット37cにより第2ヨークの端部37a、37aに連結固定される。同様に短軸36bの先端部は、第1ヨークの端部35a、35aの貫通孔に挿入され、図示しないニードルベアリングを介して回転自在に支持され、第1ヨークのキャップ35bを介して係合ナット35cにより第1ヨークの端部35a、35aに連結固定される。十字型継手部材の短軸36a、36bの先端部を回転自在に支持するニードルベアリングに上述の本発明のグリース組成物が封入されている。
 本発明のグリース組成物を、上記プロペラシャフト用自在継手に用いる場合は、安価でかつ油膜形成性に優れることが必要であることから、基油にタービン油等の鉱油を、増ちょう剤にリチウム石けん等の金属石けんを用いることが好ましい。
 本発明のグリース封入軸受の他の実施例として定着部材に用いられるグリース封入軸受を図6により説明する。図6は、転がり軸受41で軸部39aを支持された定着装置の定着ローラ39を示す。この定着ローラ39はアルミニウムで中空に形成され、中空部に配設されたハロゲンヒータ40によって200℃程度まで加熱されるようになっている。定着ローラ39の両端の軸部39aは内輪42の内径面にすきま嵌めで嵌合され、外輪43が定着装置のフレーム48に固定されている。内輪42と外輪43との間に複数個の転動体44が配置され、この複数個の転動体44を保持する保持器45が設けられている。また、外輪43に固定されるシール部材46が設けられている。少なくとも転動体44の周囲に上述の本発明のグリース組成物47が封入される。この用途では、本発明のグリース組成物47として、PFPE油を基油とし、フッ素樹脂粒子を増ちょう剤としたものを用いることが好ましい。
 本発明の潤滑油組成物について説明する。焼結した軸受成形品に含浸して焼結含油軸受を得るために用いる、潤滑油に添加剤を配合した潤滑油組成物について、高温雰囲気下でスラスト荷重およびラジアル荷重を同時に受けるような過酷な条件下でも安定した摩擦特性をより高めるべく鋭意検討を行なった。この結果、潤滑油に(1)植物由来のポリフェノール化合物、および、(2)植物由来のポリフェノール化合物の分解化合物から選ばれた少なくとも一つの化合物を配合した潤滑油組成物とすることで、この潤滑油組成物を用いてなる焼結含油軸受の高温耐久性を大幅に向上できることがわかった。
 本発明の潤滑油組成物は、潤滑油に(1)植物由来のポリフェノール化合物、および、(2)植物由来のポリフェノール化合物の分解化合物から選ばれた少なくとも一つの化合物を添加したものである。この潤滑油組成物に使用できる植物由来のポリフェノール化合物、およびその分解化合物は、上述のグリース組成物に添加するものと同様である。
 植物由来のポリフェノール化合物およびその分解化合物から選ばれた少なくとも一つの化合物の配合割合は、潤滑油組成物全体に対して 0.05~10 重量%であることが好ましい。より好ましくは、0.1~5 重量%である。上記化合物の配合割合が 0.05 重量%未満であると、使用条件によっては潤滑油組成物の酸化劣化の防止が十分でない場合がある。また、上記化合物の配合割合が 10 重量%をこえても潤滑剤の酸化劣化を防止する効果がそれ以上に向上しにくい。
 上記潤滑油組成物に使用できる潤滑油としては、上述のグリース組成物における基油と同様である。これら潤滑油の中でも、耐熱性と潤滑性に優れることから、エステル油およびPAO油から選ばれた少なくとも一つの油を用いることが好ましい。特に、エステル油を用いることが好ましい。
 また、上述のグリース組成物における基油と同様に、上記潤滑油の 40℃における動粘度は 10~100 mm2/sec であることが好ましい。より好ましくは、10~70 mm2/sec である。動粘度が、10 mm2/sec 未満である場合には、短時間で潤滑油が劣化し、生成した劣化物が潤滑油全体の劣化を促進するため、軸受の耐久性を低下させ短寿命となるおそれがある。また、100 mm2/sec をこえると回転トルクの増加による軸受の温度上昇が大きくなり、特に高速回転下では温度上昇が大きく、上記ポリフェノール化合物等を配合しても潤滑油組成物の酸化劣化を十分に防止できなくなるおそれがある。
 なお、本発明に用いる潤滑油に、発明の効果を阻害しない限度において、酸化防止剤、粘度指数向上剤、油性向上剤等の各種添加剤を配合することができる。
 本発明の焼結含油軸受を図面により説明する。図7は本発明の焼結含油軸受を用いた軸受装置を示す断面図である。図7において軸受装置53は軸52と、軸52の外周面52aに円筒形状の内周面51aを嵌合させた焼結含油軸受51と、焼結含油軸受51のスラスト方向の動きを規制するスラスト受け(図示省略)とで構成される。焼結含油軸受51は、焼結した円筒形状の軸受成形品に、後述する、潤滑油に(1)植物由来のポリフェノール化合物、および、(2)植物由来のポリフェノール化合物の分解化合物から選ばれた少なくとも一つの化合物を配合した潤滑油組成物を含浸してなる。
 本発明に用いる焼結した軸受成形品は、特にその材料を限定するものでなく、従来の場合と同様に、所要の金属材料を圧縮成形工程、焼結工程および圧縮整形工程を順次経て成形したものであってよい。
 以下に、実施例および比較例を挙げて本発明をさらに説明するが、本発明は、これによって何ら制限されるものではない。
 各実施例および各比較例において、ポリフェノール化合物は、東京化成社製試薬を用いた。
実施例1-1~実施例1-10
 表1に示した基油の半量に、4,4-ジフェニルメタンジイソシアナート(日本ポリウレタン工業社製商品名のミリオネートMT、以下、MDIと記す)を表1に示す割合で溶解し、残りの半量の基油にMDIの2倍当量となるモノアミンを溶解した。それぞれの配合割合および種類は表1のとおりである。MDIを溶解した溶液を撹拌しながらモノアミンを溶解した溶液を加えた後、100℃~120℃で 30 分間撹拌を続けて反応させて、ジウレア化合物を基油中に生成させた。これに、植物由来のポリフェノール化合物等および酸化防止剤を表1に示す配合割合で加えて、さらに 100℃~120℃で 10 分間撹拌した。その後冷却し、三本ロールで均質化し、グリース組成物を得た。得られたグリース組成物の急加減速試験を行なった。試験方法および試験条件を以下に示す。また、結果を表1に示す。
<急加減速試験>
 電装補機の一例であるオルタネータを模擬し、回転軸を支持する内輪回転の転がり軸受に上記グリース組成物を封入し、急加減速試験を行なった。急加減速試験条件は、回転軸先端に取り付けたプーリに対する負荷荷重を 1960 N 、回転速度は 0 rpm~18000 rpm で運転条件を設定し、さらに、試験軸受内に 0.1 A の電流が流れる状態で試験を実施した。そして、軸受内に異常剥離が発生し、振動検出器の振動が設定値以上になって発電機が停止する時間(剥離発生寿命時間、h)を計測した。なお、試験は、500 時間で打ち切った。
比較例1-1~比較例1-3
 実施例1-1に準じる方法で、表1に示す配合割合で、増ちょう剤、基油を選択してベースグリースを調製し、さらに添加剤を配合してグリース組成物を得た。得られたグリース組成物を実施例1-1と同様の試験を行なって評価した。結果を表1に示す。

 表1に示すように、実施例1-1~実施例1-10の急加減速試験は全て 400 時間以上を示した。これはグリース組成物の添加剤として配合された植物由来のポリフェノール化合物の作用により、軸受転走面で生じる白色組織変化を伴った特異的な剥離を防止できたことによると考えられる。これに対して、酸化防止剤(ヒンダードフェノール)のみを添加剤として配合した比較例1-1では、各実施例と比較して、剥離発生寿命が大幅に短かい結果となった。
実施例1-11~実施例1-17
 表2に示した基油の半量に、MDIを表2に示す割合で溶解し、残りの半量の基油にMDIの2倍当量となるモノアミンを溶解した。それぞれの配合割合および種類は表2のとおりである。MDIを溶解した溶液を撹拌しながらモノアミンを溶解した溶液を加えた後、100℃~120℃で 30 分間撹拌を続けて反応させて、ジウレア化合物を基油中に生成させた。これに、植物由来のポリフェノール化合物等を表2に示す配合割合で加えて、さらに 100℃~120℃で 10 分間撹拌した。その後冷却し、三本ロールで均質化し、グリース組成物を得た。得られたグリース組成物について、高温耐久性試験1を行なった。試験方法および試験条件を以下に示す。また、結果を表2に併記する。
<高温耐久性試験1>
 転がり軸受(軸受寸法:内径 20 mm、外径 47 mm、幅 14 mm)にグリース組成物を 0.7 g 封入し、軸受外輪外径部温度 150℃、ラジアル荷重 67 N 、アキシアル荷重 67 N の下で 10000 rpm の回転数で回転させ、焼き付きに至るまでの時間(高温高速寿命(150℃)、h)を測定した。
比較例1-4および比較例1-5
 実施例1-11に準じる方法で、表2に示す配合割合で、増ちょう剤、基油を選択してベースグリースを調整し、さらに添加剤を配合してグリース組成物を得た。得られたグリース組成物を実施例1-11と同様の試験を行なって評価した。結果を表2に併記する。
実施例1-18
 表2に示した配合割合にて鉱油に12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸リチウムを投入し、撹拌しながら加熱溶解した。その後冷却し、これに、植物由来のポリフェノール化合物等を表2に示す配合割合で加えて、さらに 100℃~120℃で 10 分間撹拌した。その後冷却し、三本ロールで均質化し、グリース組成物を得た。得られたグリース組成物について、高温耐久性試験2を行なった。試験方法および試験条件を以下に示す。また、結果を表2に併記する。
<高温耐久性試験2>
 転がり軸受(軸受寸法:内径 20 mm、外径 47 mm、幅 14 mm)にグリース組成物を 0.7 g 封入し、軸受外輪外径部温度 120℃、ラジアル荷重 67 N 、アキシアル荷重 67 N の下で 10000 rpm の回転数で回転させ、焼き付きに至るまでの時間(高温高速寿命(120℃)、h)を測定した。
比較例1-6
 実施例1-18に用いたベースグリースに、表2に示す添加剤を配合してグリース組成物を得た。得られたグリース組成物について実施例1-18と同様の試験を行なって評価した。結果を表2に併記する。

 表2に示すように、実施例1-11~実施例1-17は、高温耐久性試験1において寿命が全て 1400 時間以上の優れた高温耐久性を示した。これは、グリース組成物の添加剤として配合された植物由来のポリフェノール化合物が、グリース組成物の酸化劣化を抑制できたことによると考えられる。一方、比較例1-4では、実施例1-11~実施例1-17と同じ基油を用い2種類の酸化防止剤を併用したが、実施例1-11~実施例1-17と比較して寿命が大幅に短い結果となった。また、鉱油/Li石けんのベースグリースを用いる場合でも、植物由来のポリフェノール化合物を添加した実施例1-18は、他の酸化防止剤を添加した比較例1-6よりも高温耐久性試験2において 1.5 倍以上の高温耐久性を示した。
実施例2-1~実施例2-3
 市販のフッ素グリース(NOKクリューバー社製、NOXLUBE BF 2420(基油:PFPE油 増ちょう剤:PTFE樹脂粒子))に、ポリフェノール化合物を表3に示す配合割合で加えてさらに 100℃~120℃で 10 分間撹拌した。その後冷却し、三本ロールで均質化し、グリース組成物を得た。得られたグリース組成物の高温耐久性試験を行なった。試験方法および試験条件を以下に示す。また、結果を表3に併記する。なお、グリース封入軸受のコスト相対比については、比較例2-1の場合を基準として、高温高速寿命時間から算出した。
<高温耐久性試験>
 石油ベンジンでよく洗浄した軸受6204ZZ(軸受寸法:内径 20 mm、外径 47 mm、幅 14 mm)に、得られたグリース組成物を 0.7 g 封入し、軸受外輪外径部温度 200℃、ラジアル荷重 67 N 、アキシアル荷重 67 N の下で 10000 rpm の回転数で回転させ、焼き付きに至るまでの時間を測定した。
比較例2-1
 市販のグリース(NOKクリューバー社製、NOXLUBE BF 2420)を実施例と同様の試験を行なって評価した。結果を表3に併記する。
比較例2-2
 市販のグリース(NOKクリューバー社製、NOXLUBE BF 2420)にフェノール系酸化防止剤であるBHT(ジブチルヒドロキシトルエン)を表3の配合割合で加えた。得られたグリース組成物を実施例と同様の試験を行なって評価した。結果を表3に併記する。

 表3に示すように、実施例2-1~実施例2-3は、高温耐久性試験において寿命が全て800時間以上の優れた高温耐久性を示した。これは、特定のフッ素グリースを用いたことに加え、添加剤として配合されたポリフェノール化合物が、グリース組成物の酸化劣化を抑制できたことによると考えられる。一方、比較例2-1および比較例2-2では、各実施例と比較して寿命が短い結果となった。
実施例3-1~実施例3-4
 表4に示す配合割合で、基油と、増ちょう剤と、ポリフェノール化合物とを用いてグリース組成物を得た。基油であるイオン性液体はカチオン成分を1-オクチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウムカチオン、アニオン成分をビス-トリフルオロメチルスルホニル-イミドアニオンとするメルク社製:1-オクチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウム-ビス-トリフルオロメチルスルホニル-イミド(下記の化17に示すもの;表4にはOMI-TFSIと記す)を用いた。得られたグリース組成物を供試グリースとして以下に示す高温高速グリース寿命試験に供し、高温高速グリース寿命時間を測定した。結果を表4に併記する。

<高温高速グリース寿命試験>
 得られた供試グリースを転がり軸受6204(内径 20 mm×外径 47 mm×厚さ 14 mm )に全空間容積の 38%封入し、アキシアル荷重 67 N とラジアル荷重 67 N の下で、軸受温度 180℃、10000 rpm の回転速度で回転させ、焼き付きに至るまでの時間を高温高速グリース寿命時間として測定した。
実施例3-5
 表4に示す配合割合で、基油と、増ちょう剤と、ポリフェノール化合物とを用いてグリース組成物を得た。基油であるイオン性液体はカチオン成分を1-ヘキシル-3-メチルイミダゾリウムカチオン、アニオン成分をビス-トリフルオロメチルスルホニル-イミドアニオンとするメルク社製:1-ヘキシル-3-メチルイミダゾリウム-ビス-トリフルオロメチルスルホニル-イミド(下記の化18に示すもの;表4にはHMI-TFSIと記す)を用いた。得られたグリース組成物を供試グリースとして上述の高温高速グリース寿命試験に供し、高温高速グリース寿命時間を測定した。結果を表4に併記する。

比較例3-1
 ポリフェノールを用いなかったこと以外は、実施例3-1~実施例3-4と同様に処理して、グリース組成物を得た。得られたグリース組成物を供試グリースとして上述の高温高速グリース寿命試験に供し、高温高速グリース寿命時間を測定した。結果を表4に併記する。
比較例3-2
 ポリフェノールを用いなかったこと以外は、実施例3-5と同様に処理して、グリース組成物を得た。得られたグリース組成物を供試グリースとして上述の高温高速グリース寿命試験に供し、高温高速グリース寿命時間を測定した。結果を表4に併記する。
比較例3-3~比較例3-5
 表4に示す配合割合で、基油と、増ちょう剤と、市販の酸化防止剤を用いてグリース組成物を得た。基油であるイオン性液体はカチオン成分を1-オクチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウムカチオン、アニオン成分をビス-トリフルオロメチルスルホニル-イミドアニオンとするメルク社製:1-オクチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウム-ビス-トリフルオロメチルスルホニル-イミド(上記の化17に示すもの;表4にはOMI-TFSIと記す)を用いた。得られたグリース組成物を供試グリースとして上述の高温高速グリース寿命試験に供し、高温高速グリース寿命時間を測定した。結果を表4に併記する。

 表4に示すように実施例3-1~実施例3-5は、高温、高速回転を伴う軸受などの潤滑剤に有用であることがわかる。
実施例4-1~実施例4-5、比較例4-1および比較例4-2
 エステル油(花王社製:カオルーブ268 40℃における動粘度が 30 mm2/sec)を潤滑油として、この潤滑油に表5に示す種類の添加剤を所定量添加して潤滑油組成物を得た。得られた潤滑油組成物の高温耐久性を高温放置時の重量減少率の測定により評価した。供試潤滑油組成物を 150 ℃の恒温槽中に空気雰囲気で放置して、加熱時間が 500、1000、1500、2000、2500、3000 時間となった時点で恒温槽より取り出し、それぞれの重量減少率を測定した。結果を図8および表5に示した。

 図8および表5に示すように、各比較例に比べ植物由来のポリフェノール化合物を配合した潤滑油組成物は重量減少率が小さく、高温耐久性に優れていることが分かる。
 本発明のグリース組成物を封入したグリース封入軸受は、自動車電装・補機、複写機、家電、産業機器などの転がり軸受として、特に、オルタネータ、コンプレッサ、カーエアコン用電磁クラッチ、中間プーリ、電動ファンモータ等の自動車電装・補機等の転がり軸受、換気扇用モータ、燃料電池用ブロアモータ、クリーナモータ、ファンモータ、サーボモータ、ステッピングモータなどの産業機械用モータ、自動車のスタータモータ、電動パワーステアリングモータ、ステアリング調整用チルトモータ、ワイパーモータ、パワーウィンドウモータなどの電装機器用モータなどのモータ用軸受として好適に使用できる。また、このグリース組成物を封入する自在継手は自動車のプロペラシャフトに用いられるプロペラシャフト用自在継手として好適に使用できる。また、本発明の潤滑油組成物を含浸した焼結含油軸受は、複写機や印刷機などの回転部品の回転軸を支持する軸受として好適に使用できる。

Claims (31)

  1.  基油と、増ちょう剤とからなるベースグリースに添加剤を配合してなるグリース組成物であって、
     前記添加剤は、植物由来のポリフェノール化合物およびその分解化合物から選ばれた少なくとも一つの化合物を含有することを特徴とするグリース組成物。
  2.  前記植物由来のポリフェノール化合物は、タンニンであることを特徴とする請求項1記載のグリース組成物。
  3.  前記植物由来のポリフェノール化合物は、没食子酸、エラグ酸、クロロゲン酸、コーヒー酸、クルクミン、ケルセチン、または、これらいずれかの誘導体であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のグリース組成物。
  4.  前記没食子酸の誘導体は、没食子酸エチルであることを特徴とする請求項3記載のグリース組成物。
  5.  前記植物由来のポリフェノール化合物の分解化合物は、1分子内に複数の水酸基を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載のグリース組成物。
  6.  前記植物由来のポリフェノール化合物の分解化合物は、キナ酸またはその誘導体であることを特徴とする請求項5記載のグリース組成物。
  7.  前記化合物の配合割合は、ベースグリース 100 重量部に対して 0.05~10 重量部であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のグリース組成物。
  8.  前記基油は、40℃における動粘度が 10~100 mm2/sec であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のグリース組成物。
  9.  前記基油は、鉱油、アルキルジフェニルエーテル油、エステル油およびポリ-α-オレフィン油から選ばれた少なくとも一つの油であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のグリース組成物。
  10.  前記増ちょう剤は、ウレア系化合物であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のグリース組成物。
  11.  前記増ちょう剤は、金属石けんであることを特徴とする請求項1記載のグリース組成物。
  12.  前記基油は、カチオン成分とアニオン成分とからなるイオン性液体を含んでなることを特徴とする請求項1記載のグリース組成物。
  13.  前記カチオン成分はイミダゾリウムカチオンであり、前記アニオン成分はビス-トリフルオロメチルスルホニル-イミドアニオンであることを特徴とする請求項12記載のグリース組成物。
  14.  前記増ちょう剤は、フッ素樹脂粒子であることを特徴とする請求項12記載のグリース組成物。
  15.  前記基油は、パーフルオロポリエーテル油であり、前記増ちょう剤は、フッ素樹脂粒子であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のグリース組成物。
  16.  前記フッ素樹脂粒子は、ポリテトラフルオロエチレン樹脂粒子であることを特徴とする請求項14または請求項15記載のグリース組成物。
  17.  グリース組成物が封入されてなるグリース封入軸受であって、前記グリース組成物が請求項1記載のグリース組成物であることを特徴とするグリース封入軸受。
  18.  前記グリース封入軸受は、内輪および外輪と、この内輪および外輪間に介在する複数の転動体とを備え、この転動体の周囲に前記グリース組成物を封止するためのシール部材を前記内輪および外輪の軸方向両端開口部に設けてなることを特徴とする請求項17記載のグリース封入軸受。
  19.  前記グリース封入軸受は、深溝玉軸受であることを特徴とする請求項18記載のグリース封入軸受。
  20.  前記グリース封入軸受は、産業機械または電装機器のモータに用いられる転がり軸受であることを特徴とする請求項17記載のグリース封入軸受。
  21.  前記グリース封入軸受は、自動車電装・補機に用いられる転がり軸受であることを特徴とする請求項17記載のグリース封入軸受。
  22.  前記グリース封入軸受は、複写機の定着ローラに用いられる転がり軸受であることを特徴とする請求項17記載のグリース封入軸受。
  23.  トランスミッションからの回転トルクをプロペラシャフトに伝達するプロペラシャフト用自在継手であって、
     該自在継手は請求項1記載のグリース組成物を封入してなることを特徴とするプロペラシャフト用自在継手。
  24.  焼結した軸受成形品に含浸して焼結含油軸受を得るために用いられる潤滑油組成物であって、
     該潤滑油組成物は、潤滑油に添加剤を配合してなり、
     該添加剤は、植物由来のポリフェノール化合物およびその分解化合物から選ばれた少なくとも一つの化合物を含有することを特徴とする潤滑油組成物。
  25.  前記植物由来のポリフェノール化合物の分解化合物は、1分子内に複数の水酸基を有することを特徴とする請求項24記載の潤滑油組成物。
  26.  前記植物由来のポリフェノール化合物は、タンニンであることを特徴とする請求項24記載の潤滑油組成物。
  27.  前記植物由来のポリフェノール化合物は、没食子酸、クロロゲン酸、コーヒー酸、クルクミン、ケルセチン、または、これらいずれかの誘導体であることを特徴とする請求項24記載の潤滑油組成物。
  28.  前記没食子酸の誘導体は、没食子酸エチルであることを特徴とする請求項27記載の潤滑油組成物。
  29.  前記化合物の配合割合は、潤滑油組成物全体に対して 0.05~10 重量%であることを特徴とする請求項24記載の潤滑油組成物。
  30.  前記潤滑油は、エステル油およびポリ-α-オレフィン油から選ばれた少なくとも一つの油であることを特徴とする請求項24記載の潤滑油組成物。
  31.  焼結した軸受成形品に潤滑油組成物を含浸してなる焼結含油軸受であって、
     前記潤滑油組成物は、請求項24記載の潤滑油組成物であることを特徴とする焼結含油軸受。
