Definitions
- the present invention relates to a urethane (meth) acrylate composition, and a sealing material that can be used for electronic devices and communication devices, particularly hard disk devices.
- urethane (meth) acrylate as an energy ray curable resin is excellent in flexibility, and thus has been used for a gasket as a sealing material.
- generation of particles or outgas from a gasket causes a failure in electrical / electronic devices, communication devices, particularly hard disk devices.
- electrical and electronic devices and communication devices have been downsized, and gaskets used in these products are required to have a narrow line width and a high bulk. If the viscosity of the composition is increased to increase the bulkiness of the gasket, it is difficult to extrude with a coating device. Therefore, the composition must be a thixotropic material in order to increase the bulkiness of the gasket. It has been known. In order to achieve thixotropic properties, a thixotropic agent is usually added to the composition.
- Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2001-163931 proposes a photocurable sealing material composition with less outgas, but contains a thixotropic agent such as fine powder silica in order to increase the bulk of the gasket.
- thixotropic agents are not preferred because they may generate particles such as silica powder, outgas, and corrosive ions when used in precision electronic components such as hard disk drive gaskets.
- Japanese Patent No. 3560096 discloses an unsaturated polyurethane comprising a polyvalent carboxylic acid containing a polymerized fatty acid and a hindered glycol in order to provide flexibility, water resistance and heat resistance.
- a thixotropic agent is required to increase the bulk.
- the present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems. Even without using a special coating method and without using a thixotropic agent, the bulk is maintained before irradiation with energy rays, and after curing with energy rays.
- An object is to provide a urethane (meth) acrylate composition and a sealing material having a low hardness.
- the urethane (meth) acrylate composition according to the present invention is a urethane obtained by reacting a polyester polyol obtained from a polyvalent carboxylic acid and a polyhydric alcohol, a polyisocyanate, and a (meth) acrylate having active hydrogen ( A meth) acrylate composition in which a part of the polyhydric alcohol is a diol having 3 to 7 carbon atoms and one side chain, and the polyisocyanate is hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI), diphenylmethane diisocyanate ( MDI), hydrogenated diphenylmethane diisocyanate (H 12 MDI), and tetramethylene diisocyanate (TMDI). Therefore, polyisocyanate can be used by mixing one or more of these HDI, MDI, H 12 MDI, and TMDI.
- HDI hexamethylene diisocyanate
- MDI diphenylmethane diisocyanate
- the sealing material according to the present invention requires flexibility and water resistance, particularly when used in electrical / electronic equipment and communication equipment, so the polycarboxylic acid is derived from dimer acid or castor oil fatty acid or from them. It is preferable to use a molded body obtained by curing the urethane (meth) acrylate composition.
- urethane metal that maintains bulk before energy beam irradiation and has low hardness after energy beam curing.
- An acrylate composition and a sealing material are obtained.
- FIG. 1 is a view showing an example of using a gasket as a sealing material according to the present invention.
- FIG. 2 is a diagram for obtaining the formability (the ratio of height to width) of the sealing material.
- the polyvalent carboxylic acid means one having a plurality of carboxyl groups in one molecule.
- Aliphatic or aromatic divalent carboxylic acids such as acid, phthalic acid, terephthalic acid, and isophthalic acid
- trivalent carboxylic acids such as trimellitic acid
- dimer acid produced from two or more intermolecular polymerization reactions of unsaturated acids from fatty acids such as tall fat fatty acid and soybean oil fatty acid as polyvalent carboxylic acids. It is desirable to use castor oil fatty acid or fatty acid derived therefrom.
- two or more polycarboxylic acids may be used in combination.
- a polyvalent carboxylic acid component you may use together monovalent carboxylic acid in the range which does not impair the effect of this invention.
- examples of the monovalent carboxylic acid include formic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, decanoic acid, dodecanoic acid, tetradecanoic acid, heptadecanoic acid, octadecanoic acid, and animal and plant-derived monovalent carboxylic acid.
- the amount of monovalent carboxylic acid is preferably 30 mol% or less in the total polyvalent carboxylic acid component.
- the ratio of the (meth) acryloyl group occupying the molecular terminal becomes low, so that the resin becomes insufficiently cured.
- the polyhydric alcohol is “a part of the polyhydric alcohol is a diol having one side chain on a straight chain having 3 to 7 carbon atoms”.
- the reason why the number of carbon atoms is limited to 3 to 7 is that when the straight chain portion of the diol exceeds 7 carbon atoms, the viscosity of the resin increases during the synthesis, making it difficult to produce.
- a cured product of urethane (meth) acrylate using a polyester polyol composed of a diol having a linear side chain has a low hardness.
- Examples of the “diol in which a part of the polyhydric alcohol has a straight chain having 3 to 7 carbon atoms and one side chain” include, for example, 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol, 3-methyl-1,5 -Pentanediol, 2-methyl-1,5-pentanediol, 2-ethyl-1,5-pentanediol, 3-methyl-1,6-hexanediol, 2-methyl-1,4-butanediol, 4- Examples thereof include methyl-1,7-heptanediol. Of these, 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol and 3-methyl-1,5-pentanediol are preferable because of their high thixotropic properties.
- the polyhydric alcohol a diol having a straight chain having 3 to 7 carbon atoms and one side chain can be used, but other polyhydric alcohols are used in combination as long as the performance of the present invention is not impaired. can do.
- the polyhydric alcohol include ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, 1,3-propanediol, 1,4-butanediol, 1,5-pentanediol, 1,6-hexanediol, neopentyl glycol, diethylene glycol, glycerin, Examples include sorbitol and sucrose.
- the polyhydric alcohols can be used alone or in combination of two or more. However, a diol having a straight chain having 3 to 7 carbon atoms and one side chain is 30% of all polyhydric alcohol components. It is preferably at least mol%, more preferably at least 50 mol%.
- HDI, MDI, H 12 MDI, and TMDI can be used as the polyisocyanate, but these may be used alone or in combination of two or more. Further, these polyisocyanates can be modified and used. Furthermore, any of the four types of polyisocyanates described above may be used in combination with a polyisocyanate other than the four types, such as tolylene diisocyanate, as long as the performance of the present invention is not impaired.
- examples of (meth) acrylate having active hydrogen include 2-hydroxyethyl (meth) acrylate, 4-hydroxybutyl (meth) acrylate, 6-hydroxyhexyl (meth) acrylate, (meth ) 2-hydroxybutyl acrylate, 3-hydroxybutyl (meth) acrylate, 2-methyl-3-hydroxypropyl (meth) acrylate. These may be used alone or in combination of two or more.
- a diluent having a polymerizable carbon-carbon unsaturated bond in the molecule can be used.
- This diluent may be monofunctional or polyfunctional.
- These diluents can be used alone or in combination of two or more as required. These diluents are preferably blended in an amount of 5 to 80% by weight, more preferably 10 to 75% by weight based on the total composition.
- the diluent component exceeds 80% by weight, the viscosity of the energy ray-curable urethane (meth) acrylate composition is lowered, the thixotropic property of the composition is lowered, and bulky molding cannot be performed.
- the diluent component is less than 5% by weight, the viscosity of the composition is too high and it becomes difficult to extrude the composition from the coating apparatus.
- a known photopolymerization initiator when the urethane (meth) acrylate composition is cured with light, particularly with ultraviolet rays, a known photopolymerization initiator can be used.
- the photopolymerization initiator include acetophenone photopolymerization initiators such as diethoxyacetophenone, benzoin photopolymerization initiators such as benzoin and benzoin ethyl ether, benzophenone photopolymerization initiators such as benzophenone, thioxanthone, and diethylthioxanthone. These thioxanthone polymerization initiators are known. These photopolymerization initiators can be used alone or in combination of two or more.
- the compounding quantity is preferably 0.1 to 20 parts by weight, more preferably 0.5 to 15 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of all resin components.
- the blending amount of the photopolymerization initiator is too large, organic volatile components are generated during use as a gasket, and the inside of the apparatus used is contaminated.
- the blending amount is too small, the resin is not sufficiently cured.
- a photosensitizer and a thermal polymerization inhibitor may be used as necessary.
- the present invention can express thixotropic properties without using a thixotropic agent, but a thixotropic agent can be used to further increase the thixotropic property.
- a thixotropic agent organic thickeners, such as inorganic fillers, such as a fine powder silica, and hydrogenated castor oil, are mentioned, for example.
- the viscosity ratio (thixotropic index, TI value) at 25 ° C. by a rotational viscometer at a rotational speed of 0.1 rpm and 1 rpm is preferably 1.5 or more.
- TI value is less than 1.5, a sufficient height cannot be obtained during molding.
- the moldability of the urethane (meth) acrylate composition was measured as follows. That is, first, a 2 mm diameter general-purpose syringe was filled with the resin of the present invention or the comparative example, and extruded onto the metal plate (SUS304) 5 at a speed of about 200 cm / min. Thereafter, the height h and width w of the gasket 4 obtained by curing the resin with a UV irradiation device were measured using a caliper and a thickness meter, and indicated by a value of h / w (see FIG. 2).
- Example Examples are shown below, but the present invention is not particularly limited to these Examples. In the text, “parts” and “%” are based on mass. First, the synthesis of the polyester polyols of Synthesis Examples 1 to 10 used in the examples and comparative examples will be described.
