Abstract

バルブタイミング調整装置は、磁気保持トルク(Th)及び通電によるモータトルク(Tm)をモータ軸(102)に発生する電動モータ(4)と、電動モータ(4)への通電を制御することによりモータトルク(Tm)を調整する制御部としての通電制御系(6)と、カム軸の回転に応じて正負に交番するカムトルク(Tca)をモータ軸(102)へ伝達しつつ、モータ軸(102)におけるトルクバランスに応じてクランク軸及びカム軸間の相対位相を調整する位相調整機構(8)とを備える。通電制御系(6)は、内燃機関の停止後において磁気保持トルク(Th)及びカムトルク(Tca)とバランスさせたモータトルク(Tm)を消失させる(S105)。
