Abstract

 液晶表示パネル(8)等の画像表示部を有する基部(2)と、遮光部(5)を有する透光性の保護部(3)との間に光硬化型樹脂組成物(11)を介在させ、光硬化させて樹脂硬化物層(15)を形成する工程を有する画像表示装置(1)の製造方法において、光硬化型樹脂組成物(11)として、硬化収縮率が5%以下、硬化物の25℃における貯蔵弾性率が1.0×107Pa以下、樹脂硬化物層(15)の可視光領域の光透過率を90%以上とする樹脂組成物(11)を使用する。さらに、少なくとも遮光部(5)と基部(2)との間に熱重合開始剤を含有する硬化型樹脂組成物(11a)を介在させ、該硬化型樹脂組成物(11a)を加熱する工程を設ける。これにより、遮光部(5)を備えた保護部(3)と画像表示部(8)との間に樹脂を介在させた薄型の画像表示装置(1)を製造するにあたり、画像表示部(1)の変形に起因する表示不良を生じさせることなく、高輝度及び高コントラストな表示を可能とし、かつ、遮光部(5)の形成領域の樹脂も十分に硬化させる。
