[0004] ゴム系のバインダーの使用も提案されている(下記特許文献 1)が、単独では電極を 製造する際、粉末状活物質が電極スラリー中で分離沈降し、安定した電極合剤層を 形成し難い。フッ化ビ -リデン系榭脂とゴム系高分子をブレンドすることも提案されて いる(下記特許文献 2)が、 NMP等の有機溶媒に溶解してこれらを結着材として使用 するとバインダー溶液中で相分離を起こし、更に活物質等の電極物質と混合し電極 合剤スラリーを作製しても活物質と溶液成分が分離しやすく、均一な塗工電極を作 製する事が困難である。

本発明の主要な目的は、柔軟性を含む機械的特性および耐非水電解液特性に優 れ、粉末状活物質との組合せにより優れた柔軟性および電極集電体との密着性を示 す電極合剤層を形成する非水系電気化学素子バインダーとして用いるに適したフッ 化ビ-リデン系コア Zシェル型重合体を提供することにある。
[0007] 本発明の他の目的は、上記コア Zシェル型重合体を含む非水系電気化学素子用 バインダー糸且成物、電極合剤組成物、電極および非水系電気化学素子を提供する ことにある。
[0008] 本発明のコア Zシェル型重合体 (A)は、上述の目的を達成するために開発された ものであり、より詳しくは、フッ化ビ-リデン含量が 30〜90重量%の架橋フッ化ビ-リ デン系共重合体 (a)からなるゴム質コア部と、該架橋フッ化ビニリデン系共重合体 (a) のフッ化ビ-リデン含量より大で且つ 80重量%以上のフッ化ビ-リデン含量を有する フッ化ビニリデン系重合体 (b)力もなるシェル部と、を重量比(a) / (b)が 30Z70〜9 OZlOの割合で有することを特徴とするものである。本発明のコア Ζシェル型重合体 を非水系電気化学素子用のバインダーとして用いる場合、架橋フッ化ビ-リデン系共 重合体 (a)力もなるゴム質コア部は、耐非水電解液特性を著しく損なうことなく電極合 剤層に柔軟性を付与するために用いられる。またフッ化ビ-リデン系重合体 (b)から なるシェル部は、上記コア部を層状に覆って、コア部のみでは不足する耐非水電解 液特性を補強するため、およびスラリー状のノ インダー組成物に適度の粘性を与え て粉末状活物質の分離沈降を防止して均質な電極合剤スラリーの形成を可能にす るため、に有効に作用する。

[0013] (コア Zシェル型重合体 (A) )
本発明のコア Zシェル型重合体 (A)は、フッ化ビ-リデン含量が 30〜90重量%の 架橋フッ化ビニリデン系共重合体 (a)からなるゴム質コア部と、該架橋フッ化ビニリデ ン系共重合体 (a)のフッ化ビ-リデン含量より大で且つ 80重量%以上のフッ化ビ-リ デン含量を有するフッ化ビ-リデン系重合体 (b)力もなるシェル部と、を重量比(a) / (b)が 30Z70〜90ZlOの割合で有することからなるものである。
[0014] コア部を形成する架橋フッ化ビ-リデン系共重合体 (a)は、フッ化ビ-リデン単位が 30重量%以上、好ましくは、 40重量%以上、より好ましくは 50重量%以上であり、 90 重量%以下、好ましくは 80重量%以下、より好ましくは 70重量%以下である。この組 成範囲以外では、コア部の貯蔵弾性率が高くなり、フッ化ビニリデン系共重合体 (a) の柔軟性が劣る。

[0018] 上記のようにして、得られた架橋フッ化ビ-リデン系共重合体 (a)は、貯蔵弾性率が 500MPa以下、特に 300MPa以下であることが好ましい。貯蔵弾性率が 500MPaを 超えると、所望の柔軟性を有する電極合剤層の形成が困難となるからである。
[0019] 上記架橋フッ化ビ-リデン系共重合体 (a)力 なるコア部を層状に被覆するシェル 部を構成するフッ化ビ-リデン系重合体 (b)は、フッ化ビ-リデンの単独重合体また はフッ化ビ-リデン含量が 80重量%以上でフッ化ビ-リデン系共重合体 (a)中よりも 大なるフッ化ビ-リデン共重合体である。フッ化ビ-リデン系重合体 (b)中のフッ化ビ ユリデン含量は、好ましくは 90重量%以上、より好ましくは 95重量%以上である。フッ 化ビニリデン含量が 80重量%未満ではフッ化ビニリデン系重合体の結晶性が低下し 、耐非水電解液性の電極合剤層の形成が困難となる。また、フッ化ビ-リデン系共重 合体 (a)中よりも大なるフッ化ビ-リデン含量 (好ましくは、差が 10重量%以上)でな いと、フッ化ビ-リデン系重合体 (b)のシェルを形成して、耐非水電解液性を向上す る効果が乏しくなる。フッ化ビ-リデンと共重合する単量体としては、エチレン、プロピ レン等の炭化水素系単量体、またはフッ化ビュル、クロ口トリフルォロエチレン、トリフ ノレォロエチレン、テトラフノレォロエチレン、へキサフノレオ口エチレン、へキサフノレオ口 プロピレン、フルォロアルキルビュルエーテル等の含フッ素単量体が挙げられる。 [0020] シェル成分を形成するフッ化ビニリデン系重合体 (b)は、重合時に単量体 (組成物 )成分が、コア成分の架橋フッ化ビニリデン共重合体 (a)の粒子表面に侵入し、相互 侵入網目構造を形成すると考えられ、架橋しないでもある程度コアの露出を防ぎ、耐 非水電解液特性の向上効果を有する。しかしシェル成分のフッ化ビ-リデン系重合 体 (b)の重合時に架橋剤を使用し、架橋構造を導入すれば、より耐非水電解液特性 が向上するため、フッ化ビ-リデン系共重合体 (a)と同様に架橋されていることも好ま しい。架橋剤およびその使用量は、フッ化ビ-リデン系共重合体 (a)の場合と同様の ものが用いられる。
[0021] コア Zシェル型重合体 (A)を形成する、フッ化ビニリデン系共重合体 (a)からなるコ ァ部とフッ化ビ-リデン系重合体 (b)力もなるシェル部の重量比(a) / (b)は、 30Z7 0〜90ZlOであり、好ましくは 35Ζ65〜80Ζ20、より好ましくは 40,60〜70,30 である。(a)Z(b)が 30Ζ70未満では、コア Zシェル型重合体 (A)の貯蔵弾性率が 高くなり、柔軟性が乏しくなる。(a)Z(b)が 50Z50を超えると、コア Zシェル型重合 体 (A)の耐非水電解液特性がやや低下する。すなわち、コア Zシェル型重合体 (A) 単独でノインダーを構成したときに得られる電極合剤層において、シェル (b)による 保護効果が低下し、露出したコアが非水電解液に侵されてバインダーが分解な 、し 膨潤されること〖こより、電極合剤層の一体性が損なわれることがある。但し、 (a) / (b) の比が過大でなければ、後述するフッ化ビ-リデン系重合体 (C)力 なる第 2のバイ ンダーを併用することにより、耐非水電解液特性を改善し、電極合剤層の崩壊を防 止することができる。また、(a)Z(b)が 90Z10を超えると、フッ化ビ-リデン系重合 体 (C)を併用しても、電極合剤層の崩壊を防ぐバインダー性能の発揮は困難となる。
[0022] コア Zシェル型重合体 (A)を製造するための逐次重合反応は、乳化重合、懸濁重 合、溶液重合、塊状重合等の任意の重合法によって行うことができるが、構造制御の 面力も乳化重合法が好ましい。乳化重合反応には、過硫酸カリウムや過硫酸アンモ -ゥム等の水溶性無機過酸ィ匕物、またはこれらと還元剤とのレドックス系を触媒として 使用することができる。乳化剤としては、パーフルォロオクタン酸アンモ-ゥム、パー フルォロヘプタン酸アンモ-ゥム、パーフルォロノナン酸アンモ-ゥム等またはそれら の混合物が使用できる力 好ましくはパーフルォロオクタン酸アンモニゥムが使用で きる。一般に重合系内の圧力(ゲージ圧)は約 0〜10MPa、好ましくは約 l〜8MPa 、さらに好ましくは l〜5MPaである。重合温度は 0〜100°C、好ましくは 20〜90°C、 さらに好ましくは 40〜80°Cの条件下で行われる。重合系内の pHを調節するために、 Na HPO、 NaH PO、 KH PO等の緩衝能を有する電解質物質あるいは水酸ィ匕

[0023] 乳化重合により得られるコア Zシェル型重合体 (A)の粒子径は、 0. 01 μ m〜10
μ m、好ましくは 0. 05 μ m〜l μ m、より好ましくは 0. 05 μ m〜0. 5 μ mである。
[0024] この範囲より小さいと乳化剤使用量が増え製造コストが増加し、この範囲より大きい とラテックスが不安定になりやすぐ製造性に劣る。また、ノインダ一として使用する際 には、この範囲より大きいと電極内部での分散サイズが大きくなり結着性に劣る。
[0025] フッ化ビニリデン系重合体 (C)は、(a)Z(b)重量比が 50Z50以上となるようなコア Zシェル型重合体 (A)をバインダーとして用いる場合のバインダー組成物の耐非水 電解液性を改善するため、電極合剤スラリーの粘性を調整して粉末状活物質の分離 沈降を防止するため、電極合剤層の集電体との接着性の向上のため、等の目的で 必要に応じて用いられるものであり、フッ化ビ-リデン単独重合体またはフッ化ビ-リ デンを主成分とする共重合体が用いられる。該共重合体としては、フッ化ビニリデン 単量体と、それと共重合可能な他の単量体、例えばエチレン、プロピレン等の炭化水 素系単量体、またはフッ化ビュル'トリフルォロエチレン、トリフルォロエチレン、テトラ フルォロエチレン、へキサフルォロエチレン、へキサフルォロプロピレン、フノレオロア ルキルビュルエーテル等のフッ化ビ-リデン以外の含フッ素単量体のうち力 少なく とも 1種以上を共重合して得られるフッ化ビニリデン系重合体が好ましく用いられる。
[0026] さらに上記単量体との合計量 100重量部に対し、 0. 1〜3重量部の官能基を有す る単量体、例えば、カルボキシル基を含有する単量体として、アクリル酸、クロトン酸 等の不飽和一塩基酸、マレイン酸、シトラコン酸等の不飽和二塩基酸、もしくはそれ らのモノアルキルエステルであるマレイン酸モノメチルエステル、マレイン酸モノェチ ルエステル、シトラコン酸モノメチルエステル、シトラコン酸モノェチルエステル等であ り、グリシジル基を含有する単量体として、例えば、ァリルグリシジルエーテル、メタァ リルグリシジルエーテル、クロトン酸グリシジルエステル、ァリル酢酸グリシジルエステ ル等であり、これらのうちから少なくとも 1種以上を共重合して得られる官能基含有フ ッ化ビユリデン系重合体 (C)も、集電体との接着性の向上のために好ましく用いられ る。

(b)の重量比が 50Z50を超え、コア Zシェル型重合体 (A)単独では耐非水電解液 性が不足する場合の副バインダー成分として用いる場合、その配合量は、コア ンェ ル型重合体 (A)との合計量の 10重量%以上、好ましくは 20重量%以上、更に好まし くは 30重量%以上である。
[0030] またフッ化ビ-リデン系重合体 (C)は、電極合剤スラリーの粘性を調整して粉末状 活物質の分離沈降を防止するため、ならびに電極合剤層の集電体との接着性の向 上のために副バインダー成分としても用いられるものである力 その場合、バインダー 組成物中の重量分率は 10%以上であることが好ましぐ上限は 70%以下であり、より 好ましくは 20〜60%、さらに好ましくは 30〜50%である。 70%を超えるとバインダー 組成物として十分な柔軟性が発揮されな!ヽ。
[0031] 力べして、本発明の非水系電気化学素子用バインダー組成物は、上記コア Zシェ ル型重合体 (A)単独、又は必要に応じて加える副バインダー成分としてのフッ化ビ- リデン系重合体 (C)との混合物として、後述する方法により求められる膨潤度および ゲル分率が適切な値を示すように構成される。すなわち、 60°Cでの非水電解液に浸 漬した際の膨潤度が 50重量%未満で、かっこの非水電解液に対するゲル分率 (不 溶解分)が 85%以上、好ましくは 95%以上である。 [0032] 本発明のバインダー組成物は、後述する粉末状活物質 (粉末電極材料)と粉体混 合した後、溶融成形ある!、は粉末成形により集電体上に電極合剤層を形成する態様 で用いることもできる。しかし、より好ましくは、その有機溶媒に対する部分溶解性な Vヽし膨潤性を利用して、有機溶媒および粉末状活物質と混合して適度の粘性の電 極合剤スラリーを形成し、粉末状活物質に対しできるだけ少ない使用量でバインダー 効果を発生させ、電極合剤層の内部抵抗の増大を防止することが好ましい。
[0033] 電極合剤を形成するために用いられる有機溶媒は、好ましくは極性のものであり、 例えば N—メチル—2—ピロリドン、 N, N—ジメチルホルムアミド、 N, N—ジメチルァ セトアミド、ジメチルスルフォキシド、へキサメチルフォスフォアミド、ジォキサン、テトラ ヒドロフラン、テトラメチルゥレア、トリェチルフォスフェイト、トリメチルフォスフェイト、な どが挙げられる。上記の極性有機溶媒の中でも、溶解力の大きい N—メチル—2—ピ 口リドン、 N, N—ジメチルホルムアミド、 N, N—ジメチルァセトアミドなどの含窒素系 有機溶媒がより好ましく用いられる。また、これら有機溶媒は単独での使用のみなら ず二種以上を混合した混合溶媒として用いることも出来る。
[0034] 電極合剤スラリーを形成するに当り、これら有機溶媒 100重量部当り、前記コア Z シェル型重合体 (A)および必要に応じて用いるフッ化ビ-リデン系重合体 (C)を、合 計量で、 0. 1〜20重量部、更に好ましくは 0. 5〜15重量部、特に 1〜10重量部、の 割合で部分溶解ないし分散することが好ましい。 0. 1重量部未満では、スラリー中で の重合体の占める割合が小さすぎ、粉末電極材料を相互に結着させるバインダーと しての効果が得られない。また、 20重量部を超えると、スラリーの粘度が高くなり、電 極合剤の調整が困難になることがある。

[0049] (ラテックス粒子径の測定)
乳化重合により調製したラテックス中のポリマー粒子径は、粒度分布測定器 (ベック マン'コールター社製「N4 PLUS」)で測定した。測定は、光子相関法により、散乱 角 90度、単分散モードで測定された粒子径分布に基づき、各粒子径での散乱強度 で平均した粒子径をもって、(平均)粒子径とした。
[0050] (重合体キャストフィルムの作製)
重合体試料を NMPに溶解な ヽし分散し 12重量%の溶液な ヽし分散液を調製した 。得られた液をステンレス製の容器にキャストし、 120°Cで 40分間乾燥して厚さ 30 mのフィルムおよび 120°Cで 2時間乾燥して厚さ 200 μ mのフィルムを作製した。

6 て形成した電解液に上記で得られた厚さ 200 μ mのキャストフィルムを 60°Cで 7時間 浸漬した後、取出し、両面の電解液をふき取って、膨潤した試料フィルムの重量を測 定した。この試料フィルムを、更に室温で DMC (ジメチルカーボネート)中に浸漬して 洗浄した後、 120°C— 2時間で乾燥し、乾燥後の重量を測定した。下式により計算し た膨潤による試料の重量増加率を膨潤度とし、電解液に不溶の試料の重量分率を ゲル分率とした。即ち、 膨潤度 = (膨潤試料の重量 試験後乾燥試料の重量) / (試験後乾燥試料の重 χ ιοο(重量%)

上記で得られた目付け量 250gZm2の正極の片面塗工電極を長さ 100mm、幅 20 mmに切り出し試験片とし、塗工電極面とプラスチックの厚板を両面テープで貼り合 わせ、 JIS K— 6854に準じて引張試験機(ORIENTEC社製「STA— 1150 UNI VERSAL TESTING MACHINE」)を使用し、ヘッド速度 lOmmZ分で 90度剥 離試験を行い、剥離強度を測定した。

上記で得られた目付け量 150gZm2の負極の片面塗工電極を長さ 50mm、幅 20 mmに切り出し、室温で平面プレスして、電極密度を 1. 5gZcm3に加圧成形し試験 片とした。塗工電極面にガムテープを貼り、 Cu箔を「たわみ性被着材」とし、 JIS K- 6854に準じて引張試験機(ORIENTEC社製「STA— 1150 UNIVERSAL TE STING MACHINE」)を使用し、ヘッド速度 200mmZ分で 180度剥離試験を行 い、剥離強度を測定した。

<正極 >
上記で得られた片側目付け量が 500gZm2の正極の両面塗工電極を、表面温度 1 30°C、線圧 lt/cmのロールプレス機でカ卩圧した。この電極を長さ 100mm、幅 20m mに切り出し試験片とする。厚さ lmmの金属平板に試験片を載せ、さらにその上に 3 . 5mm φの金属棒を平板面に水平に置きクリップで金属棒の両端を固定する。試験 片を固定された金属棒の円周部に約 360° 捲き付けて、電極の破断の様子を目視 で観察した。

本発明のコア Zシェル型重合体 (A)の実施例に相当する重合体 A— 1〜Α—5を 以下のようにして製造した。
[0062] (重合体 A— 1)
コア部の重合: 内容量 2リットルのオートクレーブに、イオン交換水 1000g、パーフ ルォロオクタン酸アンモ-ゥム 4g、ピロリン酸ナトリウム 0. 8gを仕込み、 5MPaまでカロ 圧して窒素置換を 3回行なった後、 80°Cに昇温した。モノマーチャージ用ポットにフ ツイ匕ビ-リデン (VDF) 120g、クロ口トリフルォロエチレン(CTFE) 80g、下式で示さ れるパーフルォロジビュルエーテル(CL) 2g、

酢酸ェチル lgを計量して混合して 203gのモノマー混合物を形成し、このモノマー混 合物の一部 82gを、上記オートクレーブ中に一括添加し缶内圧 2. 6MPaとなったと ころで、過硫酸アンモ-ゥム塩の 1重量%水溶液を 20g添カ卩し、乳化重合を行なった 。 1時間で 1. OMPaまで降圧したところで 1段目の重合を終了した。次いで、残りのモ ノマー混合物 121gを缶内圧を 2. 6MPaに維持するように 2時間かけて連続添加し、 添加終了後、 1. 3MPaまで降圧したところで 2段目の重合を完了とし、缶内の未反 応モノマーをパージして、コア部の乳化重合を終了した。
[0063] シェル部の重合: 予め、モノマーチャージ用ポットに、フッ化ビ-リデン 200g、ノ 一フルォロジビュルエーテル 2g、酢酸ェチル lgを計量してモノマー混合物を用意し た。上記したコア部の乳化重合に続けて、 80°Cにおいて過硫酸アンモ-ゥム塩の 1 重量%水溶液を 20g添カ卩し、次いで上記モノマー混合物を缶内圧力が 3. 2MPaに 維持されるように連続供給し、 6時間重合を行なった。モノマー添加終了後、缶内圧 力が 2. 7MPaに降圧したところでシェル部の重合を完了とし、 40°Cまで冷却後、残 存モノマーをパージした。
[0064] 得られたラテックス lOOOgを、攪拌した状態の 0. 3重量%塩ィ匕カルシウム水溶液 1 OOOgに滴下し、塩析後、吸引ろ過で固液分離し、 30°Cで 12時間乾燥し、コア ン エル型重合体 A— 1を調製した。重合体 A— 1はラテックス粒子径 133nmを示した。

コア Zシェル型重合体 (A)のコア部のみを用いたのでは所望の特性が得られな ヽ ことを示すために、本発明のコア Zシェル型重合体 (A)のコア部のみに相当する架 橋フッ化ビ-リデンゴム共重合体 (B)の例として重合体 B— 1〜B— 4を以下のように して製造した。
[0068] (重合体 B— 1) 内容量 2リットルのオートクレーブに、イオン交換水 lOOOg、パーフ ルォロオクタン酸アンモ-ゥム 4g、ピロリン酸ナトリウム 0. 8gを仕込み、 5MPaで窒素 置換を 3回行なった後、 80°Cに昇温した。モノマーチャージ用ポットにフッ化ビ -リデ ン 320g、クロ口トリフルォロエチレン 80g、パーフルォロジビュルエーテル 4g、酢酸ェ チル 2gを計量して混合して 406gのモノマー混合物を形成し、その一部 82gを、上記 オートクレーブ中に一括添加し缶内圧 2. 8MPaとなったところで、過硫酸アンモ-ゥ ム塩の 1重量%水溶液を 20g添カ卩し、乳化重合を行なった。 1時間で 1. 6MPaまで 降圧したところで 1段目の重合を終了した。残りのモノマー混合物を缶内圧が 2. 8に 維持するように 5時間で連続添加し、添加終了後 1. 6MPaまで降圧したところで 2段 目の重合を完了とし、 40°Cで冷却し缶内の未反応モノマーをパージした。
[0069] 得られたラテックス (粒子径 154nm)の lOOOgを、攪拌した状態の 0. 3重量%塩化 カルシウム水溶液 lOOOgに滴下し、塩析後、吸引ろ過で固液分離し、 30°Cで 12時 間乾燥し、架橋フッ化ビニリデン共重合体 B— 1を調製した。

本発明のバインダー組成物において、第 2の (すなわち副)バインダー成分として用 V、られるフッ化ビ-リデン系重合体 (C)の例である重合体 C— 1〜C 3を以下のよう にして製造した。

内容量 2リットルのオートクレーブに、イオン交換水 1030g、メチルセルロース 0. 25 g、ジイソプロプルパーォキシジカーボネート 1. 5g、フツイ匕ビ-リデン 400g、酢酸ェ チル 3. 6g、ピロリン酸ナトリウム 0. 5gを仕込み、 28°Cで懸濁重合を行なった。 25時 間で重合完了とし、重合体スラリーを脱水、水洗後 80°Cで 20時間乾燥して重合体粉 末を得た。重合率は、 86重量%で、得られた重合体のインへレント粘度( 7? )は 1. 3 dlZgであった。
[0073] (重合体 C 2)
フツイ匕ビニリデン 400gの替わりに、フツイ匕ビニリデン 384g、クロ口トリフルォロェチレ ン 16gとした他は重合体 C— 1と同様にして重合を行なった。 22時間で重合完了とし 、重合体スラリーを脱水、水洗後 80°Cで 20時間乾燥して重合体粉末を得た。重合率 は、 92重量0 /0で、得られた重合体のインへレント粘度は 1. 3dlZgであった。

フツイ匕ビニリデン 400gの替わりに、フツイ匕ビニリデン 384g、クロ口トリフルォロェチレ ン 16g、酢酸ェチル 3. 6gを 3. 2gとした他は重合体 C 1と同様にして重合を行なつ た。 23時間で重合完了とし、重合体スラリーを脱水、水洗後 80°Cで 20時間乾燥して 重合体粉末を得た。重合率は、 91重量%で、得られた重合体のインへレント粘度は 2. ldlZgであった。

上記で得られた本発明のコア Zシェル型重合体 A— 1〜Α—6、そのコア部のみに 相当する架橋フッ化ビ-リデンゴム共重合体 B— 1〜B— 4および本発明のバインダ 一組成物において副バインダー成分として用いられるフッ化ビ-リデン系重合体 C 1〜C 3を、次表 4 (実施例 7および比較例 11は負極作成例、他は正極作成例)に 示すように、それぞれ単独で、又は組み合せて、バインダー (組成物)として使用し、 前記した方法により、バインダー特性評価 (貯蔵弾性率、引張弾性率、膨潤度、ゲル 分率)ならびに電極評価を行った。結果をまとめて、次表 4に示す。

本発明のコア Zシェル型重合体 (A)の実施例に相当する重合体 A 2、 A—3は、 コア Zシェル重合体が 50Z50を超えたため、それ単独でバインダーとして用いた場 合には、そのフィルムが 60°Cの非水電解液により侵され、分散してフィルムとしての 一体性を失っている(参考例 3および 4)。しかし、適当な割合でフッ化ビ-リデン系重 合体 C 1と組合せた場合にお!ヽては適度に低 ヽ膨潤度および適度に高 ヽゲル分 率を示し優れた耐非水電解液性と柔軟性を示している(実施例 3および 4)。但し、フ ッ化ビユリデン系重合体 C 1の量が過大となると柔軟性が損なわれ、電極の破断を 起す (参考例 1および 2)。

本発明のコア Zシェル型重合体 (A)のコア部のみに相当する架橋フッ化ビ-リデン 系共重合体の例に相当する重合体 B— 1〜B— 4は、それを単独でバインダーとして 用いると、耐非水電解液性が乏しく(膨潤度測定でフィルムの一体性が維持できない )、更に電極剥離強度も低くなる(比較例 7〜10)。また副バインダーとしてフッ化ビ- リデン系重合体 C 1と組合せた場合にも耐非水電解液性の充分な改善は得られな V、(ゲル分率が低 、)(比較例 4〜6)。

負極用バインダーとしての適性を確認するために、コア Zシェル型重合体 (A— 6) を、単独でバインダーとして用いて上記方法により負極を作成した。電極曲げ試験に 供した電極の密度は 1. 78gZcm3であった。表 4に示すように、後出の比較例 11に 比べ高密度であるにも拘らず、電極曲げ試験では電極破断を起こさな力つた。

[0087] 上述したように、本発明によれば、柔軟性を含む機械的特性および耐非水電解液 特性に優れ、粉末状活物質との組合せにより優れた柔軟性および電極集電体との密 着性を示す電極合剤層を形成する非水系電気化学素子バインダーとして用いる〖こ 適したフッ化ビ-リデン系コア Zシェル型重合体、ならびに上記コア Zシェル型重合 体を含む非水系電気化学素子用バインダー組成物、電極合剤組成物、高密度化が 可能な電極および非水系電気化学素子が提供される。

[I] フッ化ビ-リデン含量が 30〜90重量%の架橋フッ化ビ-リデン系共重合体 (a)から なるゴム質コア部と、該架橋フッ化ビニリデン系共重合体 (a)のフッ化ビニリデン含量 より大で且つ 80重量%以上のフッ化ビ-リデン含量を有するフッ化ビ-リデン系重合 体 (b)力もなるシェル部と、を重量比(a) / (b)が 30Z70〜90ZlOの割合で有する コア Ζシェル型重合体 (Α)。
[2] 架橋フッ化ビ-リデン系共重合体 (a)の室温での貯蔵弾性率が 500MPa以下である 請求項 1に記載のコア Zシェル型重合体 (A)。
[3] 乳化重合で製造された請求項 1または 2に記載のコア Zシェル型重合体 (A)。
[4] 架橋フッ化ビ-リデン系共重合体 (a)が二重結合を二個以上有する含フッ素系単量 体で架橋されて 、る請求項 1〜3の 、ずれかに記載のコア Zシェル型重合体 (A)。
