DESIGN FOR A STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 11,882, dated July 20, 1880.
Application filed June 14, 1880. Term of patent 31} years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that NICHOLAS S. VEDDER, deceased, late of the city of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, and Tomas S. HEISTER, now residing in Lansingburg, in said county and State, did, in the lifetime of said NICHOLAS S. VEDDEE, jointly invent and produce a certain new and original Design for Stores; and that OTIS G. CLARK, residing in the aforesaid city of Troy, and DANIEL D. BUCKLIN, residing in Lansingburg aforesaid, are the sole executors of the last will and testament of said NICHOLAS S. VEDDER, deceased; and we, the said OTIS G. CLARK, DANIEL D. BUoKLIN, and Tomas S. HEISTER, hereby declare that the following is a specification of said new design for stoves, reference being had to the accompanying out, print, or engraving.
One feature of this invention is the design for the front door, the same being composed of the central compound ornament having the representation of a. harp, b, surrounded by a frame, 0, oval inside, and having ornamental projections c at the corners, c at the sides, and c at top and bottom, the panel-surface D, the ornamented panels 6 between the draftapertnres c, and the outer border, F, composed of an inner fillet having serrate and scallop edgings, an outer scallop edging, and an intervening surface, all shaped and arranged together substantially as represented in the aforesaid print.
Another part is the design for the front plate, G, composed of the inner molding, h, having the series of inwardly-flaring ornaments h, the outer border, 3, having the vine-like ornamentations t, and the intervening molding j, and scallop edging j, all shaped and arranged as shown in the accompanying engraving.
Another feature is the design for the capplate K, composed of the central medallion, l, surrounded by the octagonal frame I and the wings m, having concavely-ourved angular edge moldings a, and the ornaments 0 on the background 0, all shaped and arranged together as shown in the aforesaid out.
Another part is the design for the side plate, the same consisting of the three sections q q (f, inclined obliquely to each other, with the series of triangular ornaments r, alternating with the threelobed flaring ornaments r along the top edge of the upper section and the bottom edge of the lower section, and the compound panel ornaments s and compound ornamental borders t on the end parts of the middle section, and all shaped and arranged substantially as represented in the aforesaid engraving.
Another feature is the design for the side door, composed of the frame to, having therein the four horizontally-oblong mica lights '0, with truncate corners, and arranged in pairs, both vertically and horizontally, the four draft-apertures w, in one row,under the mica lights,and the vine-like ornamentation n on the frame it around and between the mica lights and draftapertures, and all shaped and combined as represented in the aforesaid cut.
Another feature is the design for the valance along the side edge of the basepla-te, the same consisting of the series of down wardl y-extending octagonal panelettes m, with rosettes y therein, and alternating with the pinnate ornaments c on the intervening surfaces, all shaped and arranged as shown in the aforesaid print.
What is claimed as the joint invention of the aforesaid NICHOLAS S. VEDDEE and To- BIAS S. HEIS'IER aforesaid is- 1. The design for the front door, consisting of the parts I), c, 0, c 0", D, c, c, and F, all shaped and arranged together as shown and described.
2. The design for the front plate, G, cornposed of the parts h, h, t, II, j, and j all shaped and combined as shown and described.
3. The design for the cap-plate K, consisting of the parts 6 I m n o 0, all shaped and arranged together as speeiiied and shown.
4. The design for the side plate, composed of the parts 1 q. *r, r, s, and it, all shaped and arranged as shown and described.
5. The design for the side door, composed of the parts in, w, and TL, all shaped and combined as shown and described.
6. The design for Lhe \nlanee along the side of the bottom plate, eomposed oi" the parts 00 y z, shaped and combined as described and shown.
