以下揭示內容提供了多種實施方式或例示,其能用以實現本揭示內容的不同特徵。下文所述之元件與配置的具體例子係用以簡化本揭示內容。當可想見,這些敘述僅為例示,其本意並非用於限制本揭示內容。舉例來說,在下文的描述中,將一第一特徵形成於一第二特徵上或之上,可能包含某些實施例其中所述的第一與第二特徵彼此直接接觸;且也可能包含某些實施例其中還有而外的元件形成於上述第一與第二特徵之間,而使得第一與第二特徵可能沒有直接接觸。此外,本揭示內容可能會在多個實施例中重複使用元件符號和/或標號。此種重複使用乃是基於簡潔與清楚的目的,且其本身不代表所討論的不同實施例和/或組態之間的關係。 此外,當可理解,若將一部件描述為與另一部件「連接(connected to)」或「耦接(耦接至)」,則兩者可直接連接或耦接,或兩者間可能出現其他中間(intervening)部件。 在下文說明中,當一裝置屬於正緣觸發(active high),係使一信號生效(asserted)而具有高邏輯值,以啟動該相應裝置。反之,使該信號失效(deasserted)而具有低邏輯值,以停用該相應裝置。然而當該裝置屬於負緣觸發(active low)時,係使該信號生效而具有低邏輯值,以啟動該裝置,且使該信號失效而具有高邏輯值,以停用該裝置。 圖1為根據某些實施例,包含一不規則形主動區域12之顯示器10的示意圖。所述的顯示器10可包含液晶顯示器(liquid crystal display,LCD)或一電致發光(EL)顯示器,如一主動矩陣有機發光二極體(AMOLED)顯示器。 參照圖1,顯示器10包含一主動區域12、一資料驅動器14、複數個第一閘極驅動器H[1]至H[n]以及複數個第二閘極驅動器V[1]至V[m]。在某些既有的顯示器中,是將包含多個像素的主動區域排列成正方形或矩形陣列,但本案則非如此,所述的主動區域12包含列成譬如三角形的像素單元P。所述的不規則形主動區域12使得可將顯示器10運用於對幾何形狀較不友善的環境中,在此種環境下,方形或矩形的主動區域可能無法輕易適用,因而,本發明能夠提升顯示器的成本-面積效率(cost-area efficiency)。此外,本揭示內容不限於一特定形狀的主動區域,且可使用任意或所欲的形狀。例如,主動區域12的形狀可以是圓形、半圓形、菱形、斜方形、平行四邊行或四邊形。在具有所欲形狀之主動區域內的像素單元是以列與行的方式排列,即便各行間以及各列間像素單元的數目可以不同。 所述的第一閘極驅動器H[1]至H[n]係排列於一垂直或行方向中,其可用以掃描一或多列像素單元P。再者,所述的第二閘極驅動器V[1]至V[m]係排列於一平或列方向中,其可用以掃描一或多行像素單元P。因此,所述的第一閘極驅動器H[1]至H[n]以及第二閘極驅動器V[1]至V[m]可彼此共同運作以選擇目標像素單元P。之後,資料驅動器14提供資料給所選的像素單元P。 圖2A為示意圖,其繪示根據某些實施例,圖1所示顯示器10的第一閘極線GH[1]至GH[n]以及與其相關之第一閘極驅動器H[1]至H[n]。 參照圖2A,第一閘極驅動器H[1]至H[n]中的每一者透過第一閘極線GH[1]至GH[n]中的一相應第一閘極線,將控制信號提供至相應的像素單元P列。所述的第一閘極線GH[1]至GH[n]實質上沿著第一方向延伸,在本實施例中,所述第一方向即為列的方向。 圖2B為示意圖,其繪示根據某些實施例,圖1所示顯示器10的第二閘極線GV[1]至GV[m]以及與其相關之第二閘極驅動器V[1]至V[m]。 參照圖2B,第二閘極驅動器V[1]至V[m]中的每一者透過第二閘極線GV[1]至GV[m]中的一相應第二閘極線,將控制信號提供給相應的像素單元P行。所述的第二閘極線GV[1]至GV[n]實質上沿著與第一方向不同的第二方向延伸。在本實施例中,所述第二方向與第一方向垂直。 圖3A為示意圖,其繪示根據一實施例,圖1所示顯示器10的一資料線Data[i]以及資料驅動器14。 參照圖3A,所述資料驅動器14透過資料線Data[i]提供資料給一所選像素單元P。在本實施例中,所述資料線Data[i]沿著行的方向(或第二方向)由一行到另一行穿過多個像素單元P,以串聯主動區域12中的所有像素單元P。具體來說,資料線Data[i]從像素單元P的第一行朝向像素單元P的第m行而垂直延伸。或者是,資料線Data[i]可從像素單元P的第m行朝向像素單元P的第1行而垂直延伸。 圖3B為示意圖,其繪示根據另一實施例,圖1所示顯示器10的一資料線Data[i]以及資料驅動器14。 參照圖3B,所述資料驅動器14透過資料線Data[i]提供資料給一所選像素單元P。在本實施例中,所述資料線Data[i]沿著列的方向(或第一方向)由一列到另一列穿過多個像素單元P,以串聯主動區域12中的所有像素單元P。具體來說,資料線Data[i]從像素單元P的第一列朝向像素單元P的第n列而水平延伸。或者是,資料線Data[i]可從像素單元P的第n列朝向像素單元P的第1列而水平延伸。 圖4為根據某些實施例,圖1所示顯示器10中像素單元P的放大圖。為求簡潔,僅繪示了例示性像素單元P11及P12。 參照圖4,可由第一閘極驅動器H[1]透過第一閘極線GH[1]以及第二閘極驅動器V[1]透過第二閘極線GV[1]來選擇像素單元P11。相似地,可由第一閘極驅動器H[2]透過第一閘極線GH[2]以及第二閘極驅動器V[1]透過第二閘極線GV[1]來選擇像素單元P12。當選擇像素單元P11與P12時,資料驅動器14透過串聯該像素單元P11及P12的資料線Data[i]將資料提供給所選像素單元P11與P12。 圖5為示意圖,繪示根據某些實施例的顯示器50,其包含顯示單元51及52,兩者各有一不規則形主動區域。 參照圖5,在本實施例中,顯示單元51及52分別可和上文參照圖1所示的顯示器10類似或相同。相似地,顯示單元51及52兩者亦不限於特定的三角形主動區域,而可以是一任意或所欲的形狀,譬如圓形、半圓形、菱形、斜方形、平行四邊行或四邊形。和顯示器10相較之下,所述的顯示器50藉由結合顯示單元51及52,而擁有較大的顯示面積與較高的顯示彈性。 圖6為流程圖,其繪示根據某些實施例,用以驅動包含一不規則形主動區域之顯示器的方法。 參照圖6,在操作61,提供一顯示器,其包含在一不規則形主動區域內排列為列與行的多個像素單元。 在操作63,利用與像素單元列相關的第一閘極驅動器以及與像素單元行相關的第二閘極驅動器來選擇目標像素單元。所述第一閘極驅動器的每一者用以掃描像素單元的一相應列,而所述第二閘極驅動器的每一者用以掃描像素單元的一相應行。 在操作65,透過串聯連接所述不規則形主動區域中多個像素單元的一資料線,將資料提供給目標像素單元。 上文的敘述簡要地提出了本發明某些實施例之特徵,而使得本發明所屬技術領域具有通常知識者能夠更全面地理解本揭示內容的多種態樣。本發明所屬技術領域具有通常知識者當可明瞭,其可輕易地利用本揭示內容作為基礎,來設計或更動其他製程與結構,以實現與此處所述之實施方式相同的目的和/或達到相同的優點。本發明所屬技術領域具有通常知識者應當明白,這些均等的實施方式仍屬於本揭示內容之精神與範圍,且其可進行各種變更、替代與更動,而不會悖離本揭示內容之精神與範圍。

Claims (20)

  1. 一顯示器,包含:一不規則形主動區域;複數個像素單元,於該不規則形主動區域內排列成列與行;複數個第一閘極驅動器,各用以掃描該些像素單元的一相應列;複數個第二閘極驅動器,各用以掃描該些像素單元的一相應行;以及一資料驅動器,用以提供資料給該些第一閘極驅動器與該些第二閘極驅動器所選的一像素單元。
  2. 如請求項1所述之顯示器,其中該些第一閘極驅動器排列於一列方向中,且該些第二閘極驅動器排列於一行方向中。
  3. 如請求項1所述之顯示器,其中該些第一閘極驅動器的每一者透過一相應第一閘極線而掃描該像素單元的一相應列。
  4. 如請求項3所述之顯示器,其中該相應第一閘極線在一列方向中延伸。
  5. 如請求項1所述之顯示器,其中該些第二閘極驅動器的每一者透過一相應第二閘極線而掃描該像素單元的一相應行。
  6. 如請求項5所述之顯示器,其中該相應第二閘極線在一行方向中延伸。
  7. 如請求項1所述之顯示器,其中該資料驅動器透過串聯連接該主動區域中所有該些像素單元之一資料線,而提供資料給一像素單元。
  8. 如請求項7所述之顯示器,其中該資料線由一行到另一行穿過該些像素單元而在一行方向中延伸。
  9. 如請求項7所述之顯示器,其中該資料線由一列到另一列穿過該些像素單元而在一列方向中延伸。
  10. 如請求項1所述之顯示器,其中該不規則形主動區域包含以下一種形狀:三角形、圓形、半圓形、菱形、斜方形、平行四邊行及四邊形。
  11. 一顯示器,包含:複數個顯示單元,每一顯示單元包含:一不規則形主動區域;複數個像素單元,於該不規則形主動區域內排列成列與行;複數個第一閘極驅動器,各用以掃描該些像素單元的一相應列;複數個第二閘極驅動器,各用以掃描該些像素單元的一相應行;以及一資料驅動器,用以提供資料給該些第一閘極驅動器與該些第二閘極驅動器所選的一像素單元。
  12. 如請求項11所述之顯示器,其中該些第一閘極驅動器的每一透過一相應第一閘極線而掃描該像素單元的一相應列,及該些第二閘極驅動器的每一者透過一相應第二閘極線而掃描該像素單元的一相應行。
  13. 如請求項12所述之顯示器,其中該相應第一閘極線在一列方向中延伸。
  14. 如請求項12所述之顯示器,其中該相應第二閘極線在一行方向中延伸。
  15. 如請求項12所述之顯示器,其中該資料驅動器透過串聯連接該主動區域中所有該些像素單元之一資料線,而提供資料給一像素單元。
  16. 如請求項15所述之顯示器,其中該資料線由一行到另一行穿過該些像素單元而在一行方向中延伸。
  17. 如請求項15所述之顯示器,其中該資料線由一列到另一列穿過該些像素單元而在一列方向中延伸。
  18. 如請求項11所述之顯示器,其中該不規則形主動區域包含以下一種形狀:三角形、圓形、半圓形、菱形、斜方形、平行四邊行及四邊形。
  19. 一種驅動一顯示器的方法,該方法包含:提供一顯示器,其包含在一不規則形主動區域內排列成列與行的複數個像素單元;利用與該些像素單元列相關的複數個第一閘極驅動器以及與該些像素單元行相關的複數個第二閘極驅動器來選擇目標像素單元;以及透過串聯連接該不規則形主動區域中該些像素單元的一資料線,將資料提供給該所選像素單元。
  20. 如請求項19所述之方法,其中選擇目標像素單元包含:利用該些第一閘極驅動器掃描該些像素單元列;以及利用該些第二閘極驅動器掃描該些像素單元行。
