發明背景
小型資料傳輸歸因於控制發信號間接費用之負擔而逐漸成為針對無線通訊之議題,尤其為針對4G(例如,LTE)無線電之議題。相較於3G而言,4G在使用者設備(UE)具有IP位址的情況下提供永遠連接的資料模式。當UE無論何時連接至LTE網路時,預設(例如,最佳努力)流連同IP位址指派給UE。除UE與增強節點B(eNB)之間的連接之外,此IP連接需要介於eNB與核心網路之間的載送建立。因而,設置連接需要大量發信號間接費用。當諸如在諸如網頁瀏覽或文件傳輸之應用程式中交換的資料量極其大時,此間接費用可忽略。但是相較於涉及設置及拆卸LTE連接的發信號間接費用而言,諸如類似臉書、推特之社交網路app及機器 類型通訊(MTC)應用程式(例如,智慧型停靠表)的許多其他應用程式,所傳輸之資料量可為極其小的(例如,幾百位元)。
因而,大體需要減少供頻繁的小型傳輸用的發信號間接費用。

詳細說明

圖1展示根據某些實施例之具有各種網路組件的LTE(長期演進)網路之端對端網路架構的一部分。網路包含無線電存取網路(RAN)(例如,如所描繪,E-UTRAN或演進統一陸地無線電存取網路)及核心網路120(例如,經展示為演進封包核心(EPC)),其經由S1介面115耦合在一起。為合宜及簡潔起見,僅展示核心網路以及RAN之一部分。

MME之功能類似於舊有服務GPRS支援節點(SGSN)之控制平面。其管理存取的行動性方面,諸如閘道 器選擇及追蹤區清單管理。服務GW 124終止朝向RAN的介面,且於RAN與核心網路之間安排路由傳遞資料封包。另外,它可為用於eNB間交遞轉換(handover)之局部行動性錨點,且亦可為3GPP間行動性提供錨點。其他責任可包括合法截取、流通以及某些政策執行。服務GW及MME可實施於一個實體節點或分離的實體節點中。PDN GW終止朝向封包資料網路(PDN)的SGi介面。PDN GW於EPC與外部PDN之間安排路由傳遞資料封包,且可為用於政策執行及流通資料收集之關鍵節點。PDN GW亦可為利用非LTE存取的行動性提供錨點。外部PDN可為任何種類的IP網路以及IP多媒體子系統(IMS)域。PDN GW及服務GW可實施於一個實體節點或分離的實體節點中。
eNB(巨集或微型eNB)終止空氣介面協定且通常(若不總是)為UE 102之第一接觸點。在某些實施例中,eNB可實現RAN之各種邏輯功能,其包括但不限於RNC(無線電網路控制器功能),諸如無線電載送管理、上行鏈路及下行鏈路動態無線電資源管理及資料封包排程以及行動性管理。
S1介面為將RAN與EPC分離的介面。S1介面分成兩個部分:S1-U,該S1-U於eNB與服務GW之間運載訊務量資料,及S1-MME,該S1-MME為介於eNB與MME之間的發信號介面。X2介面為介於eNB之間的介面(至少介於大部分eNB之間,如以下將關於微eNB解釋)。X2介面包含兩個部分,X2-C及X2-U。X2-C為介於eNB之間的控制平面介面, 而X2-U為介於eNB之間的使用者平面介面。
在胞狀網路的情況下,LP小區通常用來將覆蓋範圍延伸至戶外信號不能到達的戶內區域,或在諸如車站之具有極其密集之電話使用區域中添加網路容量。如本文所使用,低功率(LP)eNB一詞指任何適合的相對低功率eNB,其用於實施諸如毫微微蜂窩基地台(femtocell)、微微蜂窩基地台(picocell)或微蜂窩基地台(micro cell)之較窄小區(窄於巨集蜂窩基地台)。毫微微蜂窩基地台eNB通常藉由行動網路運營商來提供至其住宅或企業消費者。毫微微蜂窩基地台通常等於或小於住宅閘道器的尺寸,且一般而言連接至使用者之寬頻線路。一旦將毫微微蜂窩基地台插入,則其連接至行動運營商之行動網路且為住宅毫微微蜂窩基地台提供通常為30公尺至50公尺範圍內的額外覆蓋區域。因而,LP eNB可為毫微微蜂窩基地台eNB,因為LP eNB經由PDN GW 126耦合。類似地,微微蜂窩基地台通常為覆蓋小型區域的無線通訊系統,諸如在建築物中(辦公室、購物中心、火車站等等),或最近在飛機上。微微蜂窩基地台eNB一般而言可經由X2鏈路來連接至另一eNB,諸如經由其基地台控制器(BSC)功能來連接至巨集eNB。因而,LP eNB 106可利用微微蜂窩基地台eNB實施,因為其係經由X2介面耦合至巨集eNB。就此而言,微微蜂窩基地台eNB或其他LP eNB可併入巨集eNB之某些或所有功能。在某些狀況下,此可被稱為存取點基地台或企業毫微微蜂窩基地台。
如以上所提及,小型資料傳輸歸因於控制發信號 間接費用之負擔而逐漸成為針對無線通訊之議題,尤其在IP連接習知地需要介於eNB 104與核心網路120之間的載送建立之後。以習知方式設置連接因而需要大量發信號間接費用。本文所揭示之實施例減少用於小型資料傳輸之發信號間接費用。根據實施例,eNB 104可經組配用於3GPP LTE網路(例如,圖1之E-UTRAN)中之小型資料無線電資源控制(RRC)連接建立。在此等實施例中,eNB 104可接收來自UE 102之小型資料RRC連接請求訊息。小型資料RRC連接請求訊息可包括建立條款值,其指示小型資料訊務量具有或不具有行動性。eNB 104可發送初始UE設置請求訊息來通知MME 122,小型資料RRC連接正在建立。eNB 104可指示MME 122,小型資料RRC連接是否建立為具有行動性。eNB 104亦可自MME 122接收針對小型資料RRC連接的接受訊息。接受訊息可包括RRC不活動計時器的減小,以便用於更快的連接釋放。eNB 104可將RRC連接重組態訊息發送至UE 102來回應接受訊息之接收,以便建立小型資料RRC連接。RRC連接重組態訊息可包括何時行動性將要被支援的量測資訊元素(IE)。此等實施例可達成對供設置用於小型資料傳輸之連接用的控制平面間接費用的顯著減少。以下更詳細地描述此等實施例。
用於小型資料傳輸之某些習知技術已提出僅僅使用控制平面解決方案,藉以UE不必要建立任何資料載送,且因而節省經由空氣介面設置連接的時間及空氣介面資源。然而,此等控制平面解決方案被以若干方式受約束。例如, 涉及經由控制平面發送資料之解決方案可僅用於單向發送訊務量(亦即,UE將資料發送至發送器(亦即,行動發端(MO)資料)或UE接收來自發送器(亦即,行動終端(MT)資料)之資料),但不允許兩者在連接期間同時發生。另一約束為,UE在連接期間可能夠僅發送一個IP封包。此等約束之某些者歸因於UE缺少IP位址分配而發生。
本文所揭示之實施例可幫助最小化設置特定用於小型資料傳輸之連接的控制平面間接費用。此等實施例可應用於MTC及非MTC裝置,且允許於UE 102與目的地之間交換多個TCP/IP封包。
圖2例示RRC連接建立程序。如以上所提及,存在涉及經由空氣介面設置連接的若干步驟,該空氣介面介於UE 102與eNB 104之間及介於eNB 104與核心網路EPC 120之間。訊息可於UE 102與eNB 104之間交換,且訊息之某些者可於eNB 104、MME 122、S-GW 124以及PDN-GW 126之間交換。根據實施例,可對圖2之步驟作出某些改變,以便幫助最小化設置用於小型資料傳輸之連接的控制平面間接費用。
然而,當UE 102需要自閒置狀態發送資料時,UE可遵循自步驟1至RRC連接請求的相同步驟,該UE可將建立原因規定為小型資料傳輸。當前,此條款並不存在。第二,UE 102可指示其在傳輸期間是否需要行動性支援。此可提供對於即使是用於小型資料傳輸而需要行動性支援的非MTC裝置之支援,因為裝置甚至在傳輸小型資料時可 以高速移動。
在步驟6中,當eNB 104將UE之附加請求轉送至MME 122時,eNB 104亦可包括關於至MME之小型資料傳輸的資訊。
在步驟7中,MME 122可驗證此特定UE 102是否可經允許來執行小型資料傳輸且可發送接受訊息。MME 122可將用於此連接之RRC不活動計時器修改成極小值(例如,使用諸如250ms之網路RTT值來替代當前平均值510sec)。
在步驟8中,取決於UE 102是否指示需要的行動性支援,eNB 104可包括資訊來執行向UE 102報告的量測。若不需要支援,則eNB 104避免發送此等資訊,從而節省空氣介面資源。隨後,一旦UE 102獲分配其IP位址,則UE 102可執行資料封包傳輸。在平均端對端往返時間持續較短的不活動週期之後,eNB 104可釋放UE之連接,以便確保在此連接期間不期望其他封包。
圖3例示根據某些實施例之用於小型資料傳輸的RRC連接建立程序。根據實施例,eNB 104可經配置用於小型資料RRC連接建立。在此等實施例中,eNB 104可自UE 102接收小型資料RRC連接請求訊息302。小型資料RRC連接請求訊息302可包括建立條款值,其指示小型資料訊務量具有或不具有行動性。在此等實施例中,eNB 104可發送初始UE設置請求訊息306來通知MME 122,供UE 102用之小型資料RRC連接正在建立。eNB 104可指示MME 122,小型 資料RRC連接是否建立為具有行動性。在此等實施例中,eNB 104可自MME 122接收針對小型資料RRC連接的接受訊息308。接受訊息可包括RRC不活動計時器314的減小,以便用於較快的連接釋放。在此等實施例中,eNB 104可將RRC連接重組態訊息310發送至UE 102來回應接受訊息308之接收,以便建立小型資料RRC連接。RRC連接重組態訊息310可包括何時行動性將要被支援的量測資訊元素(IE)。
在某些實施例中,指示小型資料RRC連接是否建立有行動性為初始UE設置請求訊息306之一部分。
在某些實施例中,eNB 104可添加欄位至自UE 102接收之附加請求訊息304,以便產生初始UE設置請求訊息306。所添加之欄位可指示專用非存取頻譜(NAS)資訊元素(IE)中之小型資料。具有所添加之欄位的附加請求訊息304可由eNB 104轉送至MME 122。
在某些實施例中,在已減小之RRC不活動計時器過期之前,eNB 104可經由所建立之小型資料RRC連接與UE 102通訊小型資料封包312。小型資料封包312可具有針對小型資料傳輸之預定最大尺寸。
在某些實施例中,UE 102可為機器類型通訊(MTC)裝置。在某些實施例中,UE 102為包括智慧型手機的行動裝置。在某些實施例中,小型資料RRC連接請求訊息包括建立條款值,其指示小型資料訊務量不具有行動性。在某些實施例中,小型資料RRC連接請求訊息包括建立條款值,其指示小型資料訊務量具有行動性。在某些實施例 中,儘管實施例之範疇不限於此方面,但是針對小型資料傳輸之預定最大尺寸為1千拜(Kbyte)。
根據實施例,新建立原因值提供於RRC連接請求訊息(「具有行動性之小型資料訊務量」及「不具有行動性之小型資料訊務量」)中。此外,向eNB 104提供新機制來通知MME 122,連接請求為小型資料傳輸。在由eNB轉送至MME 122的附加請求訊息中,可添加欄位來指示專用資訊NAS IE中之小型資料訊息。eNB 104可指示MME 122,該連接請求為小型資料傳輸,且亦可指示附加請求NAS訊息之頂部上是否需要行動性支援。當eNB 104接收附加接受訊息時,eNB 104可發送RRC連接重組態訊息(零量測IE、零行動性IE,其取決於是否需要行動性支援)。MME 122亦可發送更新之RRC不活動計時器值,以便用於較快的連接釋放。若核心網路120知道該連接為小型資料傳輸連接,則核心網路可能不長時間將隧道資訊保留於S-GW 124與eNB 104之間及PDN-GW 126與S-GW 124之間,且同樣可釋放載送資源。
在表1中,例示具有新建立原因之新RRC連接請求訊息。
在此,所揭示之實施例可應用於供MTC及非MTC裝置兩者用之小型資料傳輸。本文所揭示之實施例可允許發送多個IP封包,且亦可發送TCP/IP封包。本文所揭示之實施例對於行動裝置及非行動裝置而言可為彈性的。本文所揭示之實施例可減小行動裝置之量測組態的影響,從而節省發信號間接費用。所揭示之實施例不包含安全性。本文所揭示之實施例可藉由快速釋放連接來節省UE功率,從而亦節省網路資源。
在某些實施例中,儘管實施例之範疇不限於此方面,但小型資料傳輸之封包的尺寸(例如,約幾百位元組) 較小,其具有100位元的平均封包尺寸,且可具有1千拜的預定最大尺寸。在某些實施例中,eNB 104可避免包括指示小型資料訊務量的建立條款值,其用於不針對小型資料訊務量之RRC連接請求。

在某些LTE實施例中,無線資源之基本單位為實體資源區塊(PRB)。PRB可包含頻域中之12個副載波x時域中之0.5ms。PRB可成對分配(在時域中)。在此等實施例中,PRB可包含複數個資源元素(RE)。RE可包含一個副載波x一個符號。
兩種類型的參考信號可由eNB發射,該eNB包括解調參考信號(DM-RS)、通道狀態資訊參考信號(CIS-RS)及/或公用參考信號(CRS)。DM-RS可供UE用於資料解調。參考信號可在預定PRB中發射。
在某些實施例中,OFDMA技術可為使用不同上行鏈路及下行鏈路頻譜的分頻雙工(FDD)技術或使用相同 上行鏈路及下行鏈路頻譜的分時雙工(TDD)技術。
在某些其他實施例中,UE 400及eNB可組配來通訊使用一或多個其他調變技術發射的信號,該等技術諸如展頻譜調變(例如,直接序列-分碼多重存取(DS-CDMA)及/或跳頻分碼多重存取(FH-CDMA))、分時多工(TDM)調變、及/或分頻多工(FDM)調變,儘管實施例之範疇不限於此方面。

在某些合作式多點(CoMP)實施例中,網路可經組配用於至UE 400之聯合發射,其中諸如遠端無線電頭(RRH)之兩個或兩個以上合作/協調點聯合發射。在此等實施例中,聯合傳輸可為MIMO傳輸,及合作點經組配來執行聯合成束。
