A7 ________ B7 .. 五、發明説明(丨) S 一 本發明係有關含有傳導聚合物作爲電洞注射及/或電子 注射層之電致發光裝置。 (請先閎讀背面之注意事項再填寫本頁) 電致發光(EL)裝置之特徵在於:當一電壓被施加電流時 ,它就會發生。此種裝置即爲工業與科技方面長久以來所 熟知的"發光二極管(LEDs)。光之發出係由於正電荷(電 洞)及負電荷(電子)與光之發射結合所致。 所有在工業與科技上通用之LEDs,大部份係由無機丰導 體材料所組成。然而,EL裝置之基本構成爲有機材料,是 若干年前即已廣爲人知者。 這些有機的EL裝置通常包含一層或多層有機性電荷傳遞 化合物。 層狀構造基本上如下述;號碼1至10代表下列: .- -· 1. 載體,基質 2. 基電極 3. 電洞注射層 4. 電洞傳遞層 5. 射極層 6. 電子傳遞層 7. 電子注射層 經濟部中央標準局員工消費合作社印繁 8. 頂電極 9. 觸點 10. 覆蓋,封裝 此構造乃代表最普通的例子,且可藉省略各層來簡化, 而以單層來執行數項工作。在最簡單的例子中,EL裝置係

五、發明説明(3 ) 化合物。主要係使用可在高度眞空下被蒸發之低分子量物 質。此等物質的分類及彼等用途之一項廣泛的調查可見於 (例如)下列申請案中:EP-A 387 715、US-A 4 539 507 、4 720 432及4 769 292。 此物質在高眞空蒸發時之沉積作用爲其缺點。爲簡化 ELP顯示器之製法,如果3,4和6,7層藉由溶液中之沉積作 用來產生,應是有利的。 由EP-A 686 662中,已知使用導電性有機聚合導體之特 殊混合物,如3,4-衆乙烯二氧ο塞吩及多羥化合物或内醯胺 ,作爲ELP组件中之電極1。 在合成金屬76 (1996)第141-143頁中,聚-(3,4-乙烯 二氧β塞吩)亦被描述作爲LEDs中之電極;可參考的是,聚 -(3,4-乙烯二氧b塞吩)電極比起氧化銦-錫(π〇)電極, 可產生更低的發光強度値。 令人驚訝地,頃發現以純的聚合性有機導體(如3,4-聚 乙烯二氧ϋ塞吩)作爲在透明金屬電極(如ITO)上之電荷 注射中間層時,於LEDs中所產生之發光強度値顯著優於帶 有純金屬電煸或純傳導衆合物電極之LEDs者。道些層可由 溶液製備,或藉由對應於聚合性有機導體之單體的聚合作 用來製備。 適合之衆合性有機導體,例如裝诚喃、聚她咯、聚苯胺 、聚噻吩或聚αΑ啶。道歧乃被描述於例如EP-A 257 573 ( 衆烷氧噻吩類)、W0 90/04256 (聚苯胺類)、ΕΡ-Α 589 529 ( α比咯)、DE-A 2 262 743 (低聚苯胺類)中。
