Oppfinnelsen vedrører toverdige Smac-mimetika som virker som inhibitorer av apoptoseproteiner. Oppfinnelsen vedrører også anvendelsen av disse mimetikaene til induksjon av apoptotisk celledød, og til sensitivisering av celler overfor induksjonsmidler for apoptose.
