Abstract

액정표시장치는 2차원 매트릭스상으로 기판에 각각 배치되어, 화상을 표시하기 위한 화소, 상기 기판상에 모노릭으로 각각 형성되어 화소를 구동하기 위한 복수형의 트랜지스터를 포함하고, 인접한 화소에서는, 적어도 1개의 동형의 트랜지스터가, 서로 근접하도록 상기 각 화소의 대면하는 주변부에 설치된다. 이에따라, 상기 트랜지스터의 형성에 필요한 부위를 공유화할 수 있고, 상기 각 트랜지스터의 점유면적을 억제할 수 있어서, 상기 각 화소의 동작의 확실성 및 화소크기의 소형화가 이루어진다.

Claims (19)

  1. 화상을 표시하는 다수의 화소들, 및 상기 화소를 구동하는 복수형의 회로소자를 포함하며, 상기 각 화소는 2차원 매트릭스상으로 기판상에 배치되며, 상기 회로소자는 상기 기판상에 모놀리식으로 각각 형성되고, 인접한 화소들내에 하나이상의 동일형태로 된 회로소자들이 상기 화소의 서로 대면하는 주변부에 서로 근접하게 설치되는 화상표시장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 회로소자들이 상기 화소들 사이의 경계선에 대해 실질적으로 대칭으로 배치되는 화상표시장치.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 회로소자들의 적어도 일부가 화소들 사이의 경계선상의 지점에 대해 실질적으로 대칭으로 배치되는 화상표시장치.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 회로소자를 구동하기 위한 배선이 화소들 사이의 경계선을 따라 설치되며, 상기 인접한 화소에서는, 상기 배선이 공용으로 되는 화상표시장치.
  5. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 배선이 부전원배선인 화상표시장치.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 화상을 표시하기 위한 각 화소의 전극들 중 하나가 광반사성을 가진 반사전극이며, 상기 회로소자의 적어도 일부가 인접한 화소의 영역에 대해 오버랩 되도록 상기 반사전극의 이면측에 상기 회로소자들이 절연층을 통해 배치되는 화상 표시 장치.
  7. 제6항에 있어서, 제1 도전재료에 의해 형성되어 회로소자를 구동하는 제1 배선, 제2 도전재료에 의해 형성된 차폐전극, 제3 도전재료에 의해 형성된 반사전극, 상기 회로소자와 차폐전극을 분리하는 제1 절연층, 및 상기 차폐전극과 반사전극을 분리하는 제2 절연층을 더 포함하며, 상기 제1 배선, 차폐전극, 각 반사전극이 기판상에 이면측으로부터 표면측을 향해 순차적으로 적층되며, 상기 차폐전극은 회로소자 및 제1 배선을 제1 절연층을 통하여 피복하고, 상기 제1 배선에 접속되며, 제2 절연층을 통해 상기 반사전극들과 그 반사전극들 사이의 부분을 피복하는 화상표시장치.
  8. 제7항에 있어서, 상기 제1 절연층의 유전율이 상기 제2 절연층의 유전율보다 작게 되도록 설정되는 화상표시장치.
  9. 제7항에 있어서, 상기 제1 절연층의 두께가 상기 제2 절연층의 두께보다 크게 되도록 설정되는 화상표시장치.
  10. 제7항에 있어서, 회로소자를 구동하기 위한 제2 배선층을 더 포함하며, 상기 제2 배선층이 제2 도전재료에 의해 기판상에 형성되며, 상기 제2 배선층과 차폐전극이 기판상에 동층으로 되도록 형성되는 화상표시장치.
  11. 제1항에 있어서, 반사형으로 되어있는 화상표시장치.
  12. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 기판은 반도체 재료에 의해 형성되고, 상기 각 회로소자는 화소를 구동하기 위한 트랜지스터를 포함하며, 인접한 각 트랜지스터의 확산층이 공용으로 되어있는 화상표시장치.
  13. 제12항에 있어서, 상기 확산층은 인접한 화소의 영역에 대해 오버랩되도록 배치되는 화상표시장치.
  14. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 기판은 절연재료에 의해 형성되고, 상기 각 회로소자는 화소를 구동하기 위한 트랜지스터를 포함하며, 인접한 각 트랜지스터의 양극산화막은 공용으로 되어있는 화상표시장치.
  15. 제14항에 있어서, 상기 트랜지스터는 다결정실리콘으로 형성되는 화상표시장치.
  16. 제14항에 있어서, 상기 양극산화막은 인접한 화소의 영역에 대해 오버랩되도록 배치되는 화상표시장치.
  17. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 각 회로소자는 콘덴서를 포함하며, 인접한 각 콘덴서는 공통전극을 가지는 화상표시장치.
  18. 제17항에 있어서, 상기 기판은 반도체재료에 의해 형성되고, 상기 콘덴서의 공통의 전극은 확산층인 화상표시장치.
  19. 제18항에 있어서, 상기 확산층은 인접한 화소의 영역에 대해 오버랩되도록 배치되는 화상표시 장치.
