본 발명은 원격 통신(telecommunications)에 관한 것으로, 보다 구체적으로는 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스(GUI; graphical user interface)를 통한 지속적 가상 회의실 통신 세션(persistent virtual conference room communictaion session)의 관리 및 디스플레이에 관한 것이다. 통신 세션은 전화 호(call), 통신 세션, 인스턴트(instant) 메시징 세션, 이메일 세션, 비디오 회의 세션, 멀티미디어 세션 등과 같은 다양한 모드에서 존재할 수 있다.

이러한 가상 회의실 내의 통신 세션은 지속적인 요소를 가질 수 있다. 통신 세션 전에 발생하는 액티비티(activities)는 차후에 복구될 수 있도록 그 세션 동안 그리고 그 세션 후에 공간 내에서 지속될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 당사자들은 그 통신 세션에 대해 준비 중인 초안 문서(draft document)를 게시할 수 있다. 당사자들은 이러한 문서에 접근하여 그 세션에 앞서 변경을 가할 수도 있다. 이 세션에서, 참가자 중 특정 그룹이 관련될 것이다. 위 문서는 변경될 수 있다. 유튜브 비디오가 주어질 수 있다. 참가자들은 세션에 합류하거나 세션에서 제거될 수 있다. 이러한 회의의 속기록 및 오디오 레코딩이 기록될 수 있다. 참가자 셋이 부차적인 문제를 논의하는 데에 5분을 쓰고 나서 통신 세션의 메인 바디(main body)와 합쳐지는 사이드바(sidebar) 통신 세션이 발생할 수 있다. 세션을 만들 수 없는 참가자들로부터 이메일 또는 인스턴트 메시지가 게시될 수 있다. 세션에 뒤이어, 수정된 문서에 접근하여 이를 더 수정할 필요가 있을 수 있다. 참가자들은 통신 세션을 재활성화하고 문서를 더 변경한 후에 경과에 관해 보고하는 것을 원할 수도 있다.
앞서 언급한 특징 전부 및 그 이상은 지속적 가상 회의실의 사용을 통해 추적될 수 있다. 시스템(100)은 참가자들, 문서들, 액티비티들, 세션 제어 및 통신 세션의 모든 측면을 추적하고 기록한다. 편리한 장소에 남아 있는 다양한 부분의 정보로써 통신 세션을 재활성화하거나 재호출하기 위하여 이러한 정보는 저장되고 나중에 접근할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 세션이 끝난 후, 논의된 문서를 한 참가자가 수정하는 것이 태스크 항목일 수 있다. 개인은 지속적 회의실에 가서 그곳에 남아 있는 문서를 업데이트할 수 있다. 그리고 나서 다른 사용자들은 동일한 장소에서 그 문서에 접근할 수도 있다. 참가자들이 추적되기 때문에 시간이 잡혀있거나 또는 즉석에서 동일한 그룹 또는 서브그룹이 재소집되어 후속 세션을 시행할 수 있도록 호스트 또는 다른 사용자들이 회의를 재활성화할 수 있다. 중요한 데이터, 속기록, 레코딩, 문서의 각각 다른 초안 등 전부가 검토를 위해 이용 가능하다.

그래픽 요소는 또한 유형, 크기, 색, 경계, 밝기, 위치 등을 변경시킴으로써 전화 회의에 대한 정보를 전달할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 선은 참석자간의 관계를 전달할 수 있다. 예컨대, 에이브(206)가 호스트임을 표시하는, 에이브(206)를 가상 회의실 허브(304)로 연결하는 선(208)은 다른 선들보다 두껍다. 사용자는 자신의 아이콘 또는 다른 사용자의 아이콘에 대한 변경을 수동으로 트리거할 수 있거나, 시스템(100)은 변경 이벤트를 감지하고 그에 따라 그래픽 요소를 변경할 수 있다. 변경 이벤트는 접속자, 컨텍스트, 모습(persona) 및/또는 존재(presence)에 기초할 수 있다.
가령, 한 사람이 말할 때 시스템(100)은 그 아이콘을 확대할 수 있다. 다른 예로서, 시스템(100)은 전화 회의에서 각 사람이 얼마나 많이 말을 하는지 추적하여 전화 회의에서의 총 이야기 시간에 따라 그래픽 요소를 위로 아래로 이동할 수 있다. 또 다른 예로, 사용자의 아이콘은 업무 시간 동안에 더 격식을 차리고 근무시간 이전 또는 이후에 좀 더 격식을 차리지 않는다.
다른 변형예에서, 시스템(100)은 링크의 굵기, 길이, 색, 스타일을 바꾸고/바꾸거나 링크에 애니메이션을 부여함으로써 그래픽 요소를 연결하는 링크를 수정한다. 이러한 수정은 현재의 화자, 공유 자원, 활성 통신 세션, 개시된 통신 세션(a held communication session), 조용한 통신 세션, 진행중인 통신 세션, 연결 통신 세션, 복수 당사자 라인, 사이드바 대화, 모니터링된 전송, 모니터링되지 않은 전송, 선택 전달(selective forwarding), 통신 세션의 복수의 통신 세션으로의 선택적 분할 등을 나타낼 수 있다.
일 측면에서, 사용자는 아이콘을 클릭하고 드래그하여 (또는 터치 스크린으로 가볍게 두드리거나 드래그하여) 전화 회의를 조작한다. 예를 들어, 사용자는 통화 아이콘, 화상 회의 아이콘, IM 아이콘, 이메일 아이콘 또는 소셜 미디어 아이콘(a social media icon)을 클릭하여 다른 사용자를 통신 세션에 참여하도록 초대할 수 있다. 사용자는 이러한 아이콘들을 드래그하고 현재 통신 세션의 접속 또는 참석자 위에 드롭할 수 있다. 만일 인커밍 통신 세션이 하나의 양상 (가령 IM)에 있으면 사용자는 통화 아이콘을 인커밍 통신 세션위로 드래그하여 인커밍 통신 세션을 수용하지만 그것을 IM에서 통화로 트랜스코드할 수 있다. 인커밍 통화 아이콘은 인커밍 통화의 사용자에게, 깜빡거리고, 튀어오르고, 꿈틀거리고, 커지고, 줄어들고, 진동하고, 색을 변경하고, (신호음 같은) 들을 수 있는 경고를 전송하고/하거나 다른 표시를 제공할 수 있다. 사용자는 다른 현재 통신 세션과 동일한 방식으로 이 인커밍 요청과 상호작용하거나 이 인커밍 요청을 조작할 수 있다. 시스템(100)은 활성 통신 세션과 인커밍 통화를 나타내는 통신 세션을 구별하지 않는다. 사용자는 또한 적절한 아이콘을 드래그하여 접속 위로 드롭함으로써 통신 세션을 개시할 수 있다. 소셜 미디어는 페이스북, 트위터, 링크드인, 마이스페이스 등과 같은 웹사이트를 포함한다. 또는, 사용자는 접속 리스트를 통해 브라우징하고 나서 원하는 접속을 드래그 및 드롭하여 원하는 접속을 전화 회의에 추가할 수 있다. 시스템(100)은 그리고 나서 원하는 모드, 송신자 선호 모드, 존재 정보에 기초한 현재 이용가능한 모드 또는 참석자들간 공통 이용가능 모드에 있는 사람과 자동으로 접속하고 그 사람을 전화 회의에 참가시킨다. 시스템(100)은 캘린더, 노트, 메모, 개인 존재 정보 및 시간과 같은 다른 정보도 디스플레이할 수 있다. 시스템(100)은 사용자 구성가능(user-configurable)할 수 있다.
또 다른 측면에서, 사용자 선호도는 그래픽 요소 및 관련 텍스트에 의해 전달되는 정보의 양과 유형을 가이드한다. 사용자 선호도는 한 명 이상의 회의 참석자의 선호도로부터 도출될 수 있다. 선호도는 또한 세션의 지속적인 성질(persistent nature)과 관련하여 성립될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 호스트는 모든 이벤트의 동적 레코드를 유지하거나 공유 문서의 최종 버전 및 참석자의 최종 리스트와 같은 최종 상태를 기록하고 지속되게 만들 수 있을 뿐이다. 사용자 제어는 지속적인 특성(persistent features)을 턴온 및 턴오프할 수 있다. 어떤 경우, 호스트는 쪼개진 통신 세션 및 그 쪼개진 세션과 연관된 모든 문서에 대한 지속적 특징(persistent characteristic)을 턴 온 할 수 있다. 그 쪼개진 세션이 그리고 나서 주 통신 세션으로 다시 합쳐지면 지속적 특징은 종료하고 오직 쪼개진 세션만 지속된다.
상이한 성능에 대해 상이한 요금이 또한 과금될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 서비스 제공자는 하나의 통신 세션을 복수의 세션으로 나누는 것과 같은 세션 제어 상호작용을 포함하는 가상 회의실에 대해 지속적인 실행 히스토리(running history)를 유지하는데 더 많은 요금을 부과할 수 있다.
하나의 가능한 사용자 입력은 도 2에 도시된 통신 세션을 나누는 것이다. 사용자는 마우스 드래그 또는 터치 스크린상의 손가락으로 통신 세션을 두 개의 그룹으로 나누는 선을 그릴 수 있다. 시스템(100)은 그리고 나서 통신 세션을 그 그룹에 기초하는 두 개의 별개의 공존하는 통신 세션으로 나눌 수 있다. 한 측면에서, 통신 세션 관리자는 제한 시간 동안 통신 세션을 나눌 수 있고, 그 후 통신 세션은 자동으로 합쳐진다. 예를 들어, 관리자는 "팀 A, 전략 A에 대해 찬반 토론하세요. 팀 B, 전략 B에 대해 찬반 토론하세요. 5분 후에 돌아와서 토론에 대해 보고하겠습니다."라고 말할 수 있다. 그리고나서 관리자는 선을 그리거나 아니면 브레이크아웃 세션에 대한 그룹을 선택하고 기간을 설정한다. 통신 세션이 분리될 때 그 분리를 관리하는 이용가능한 옵션을 제공하는 다이얼로그 또는 아이콘이 나타날 수 있다. 시스템(100)은 통신 세션을 나누고 설정된 기간 후에 그들을 합류시킨다. 이 개념은 도 4A 및 4B에 더욱 상세히 설명되어 있다.
관리자는 브레이크아웃 세션(breakout session) 중에 그룹 간의 사이드바 대화(sidebar conversation)를 금지하는 것과 같은 부가적인 세팅을 표시할 수 있다. 관리자는 브레이크아웃 세션과 독립적이고 각각의 브레이크아웃 세션을 오디오, 요약 및/또는 실시간 텍스트를 통해서 모니터링할 수 있다.
이상에서 도 2의 여러 변형예를 살펴보았으므로, 이제 도 3에 도시된 바와 같은 통신 세션의 네트워크 뷰(300)에 대해 논의한다. 통신 네트워크(302)는 여러 통신 장치(304, 306, 308, 310,312)를 연결하고 장치들간에 정보를 전달한다. 상기 통신네트워크는 통상의 전화서비스(POTS) 네트워크, 비동기 전송 모드(ATM) 네트워크, 종합정보통신 네트워크(ISDN), 프레임 릴레이 네트워크, 이더넷 네트워크, 토큰링 네트워크 및 기타 다른 적절한 유/무선 네트워크 중 하나 또는 이들의 조합일 수 있다. 상기 네트워크는 하나 또는 그 이상의 상호접속 노드(314, 316,318,320)를 포함하며 이들 노드는 GUI 상에서 통신 세션의 그래픽 표현하에 존재하는 접속 및 전송 기능의 전부 또는 일부를 수행한다. 그와 같은 네트워크 노드(314, 316, 318, 320)는 네트워크(302)에서의 모든 기능(functionality)을 수행할 수도 있고, 또는 통신 세션을 제어하기 위해 엔드-유저 통신장치(304, 306,3089,312)와 협조하여 동작할 수도 있다.
본 발명의 일면에 따르면, 중앙집중형 개체(centralized entity)가 통신 세션을 제어한다. 상기 중앙집중형 개체는 네트워크상에 존재할 수도 있고 상기 네트워크를 통해 통신할 수도 있다. 상기 중앙집중형 개체는 중앙집중형 엔터프라이즈 지능 서버로 동작할 수 있다. 본 발명의 또 다른 면에 따르면, 통신 세션 제어 및 그 기능은 네트워크 또는 클라우드내의 다수의 서버 자원(314, 316, 318, 320)간에 분산된다. 상기 클라우드 내의 중앙 집중형 지능 및 분산형 지능뿐 아니라, 상기 네트워크(302)는 그와 같은 기능을 종단부 지능형 피어-투-피어 방식(peer-to-peer approach with intelligence on the endpoints)으로 제공할 수도 있다. 이에 대한 몇몇 변형예로서는 표준을 따르는 서버상에 표준화된 기능을 제공하고 종단간에 분산된 비표준형 기능을 제공하는 것을 포함한다.
각 통신 장치의 디스플레이는 동일한 통신 세션에 대한 상이한 면 또는 뷰를 보여준다. 예를 들어 장치(304)의 디스플레이는 동일한 참가자(202,204,206)의 동일한 디스플레이를 보여준다. 장치(306)의 디스플레이는 동일한 참가자(202,204,206)를 장치(306)의 관점과는 다른 통신 세션 뷰를 보여준다. 이와 유사하게, 장치(308,312)는 동일한 참가자(202,204,206)를 상이한 뷰로 보여준다. 본 발명의 일면에 따르면 모바일 장치(308)는 무선 전송기(310)와 연결되어 네트워크에 연결된다. 모바일 장치(308)는 통신 세션에 대한 자신의 뷰를 생성하거나 또는 다른 장치의 디스플레이에 대한 이중 또는 동반 뷰(duplicate or a companion view)를 생성할 수도 있다.
도 4A는 가상 회의실 통신 세션(402)를 분할(divide)하는 동작을 보여준다. 시스템은 디스플레이(400)상에 상기 가상 회의실 공간의 일부로서 공유 자원(420) 및 가상 회의실 통신 세션을 그래픽 요소(404, 406,408,410,4312,414,416)로 출력한다. 호스트(406) 또는 다른 참가자가 손가락을 사용하여 터치 스크린에 (또는 다른 적절한 입력부를 사용하여) 제 1 라인(418)을 그려 참가자(414,416)을 하나의 그룹으로 분리하고 참가자(410,412)를 다른 그룹으로 분리하는 제 2 라인(450)을 그린다. 이들 상이한 그룹들은 사이드바 토론(sidebar discussion)이라 볼 수 있으며 메인 회의실(404)와 여러 레벨의 접속을 갖는다. 도 4B에 보인 바와 같이 시스템은 상기 두 그룹을 식별하며 참가자들을 입력에 기초하여 분할한다.
도 4B는 도 4A에 도시된 동작의 결과를 예시적으로 보여준다. 상기 분할은 가상 회의실 통신 세션동안 유효할 수도 있고 또는 소정 시간 동안 또는 호스트(406)가 가상 회의실 세션에 다시 참가할 때까지 일시적일 수도 있다. 호스트(406)는 분할된 각 가상 회의실 통신 세션의 그룹이 공유 자원(420)의 전체 또는 일부에 어떻게 액세스할 것인지를 결정한다. 예를 들어 사이드바 세션(424)은 공유 자원(420)의 페이지 1 내지 20에 대한 보기(view)/관리하기(manage)/변경하기(change)가 허락될 수도 있고 사이드바(422)는 페이지 21 내지 40에 대한 보기(view) 만이 허락될 수도 있다. 호스트(406)는 또한 상기 가상 회의실 공간 통신 세션의 다른 분할된 부분에 있어서는 참가자간에 사이드바를 금지하거나 그리고/또는 각 분할된 부분에 대해서 자동으로 사이드바(422,424)를 셋업 시킬 수도 있다.
시스템(100)은 각 분할된 부분을 가상 회의실 공간 허브로 연결하는 선(426)들의 모양을 변경할 수 있어, 예를 들면 가상 회의실 공간이 분할되어 있음을 표시하기 위해 상기 선들을 직선에서 곡선으로 변경시킬 수도 있다. 본 발명의 일 형태에 의하면, 각 분할된 그룹은 다른 참가자들로부터 완전히 분리되어 다른 그룹 내에서 진행되는 사항에 대해 전혀 듣거나 보지 못한다. 시스템은 또한 메인 회의(404)로부터의 음량을 줄임으로써 그 소리에 의해 사이드바들이 방해받지 않도록 하되 단순히 호스트가 발언하는 경우("다시 참가할 준비가 되셨습니까?")에는 사이드바 그룹들이 이를 듣고 반응할 수 있도록 한다. 다른 형태에 따르면, 시스템이 각 사용자의 아이콘과 가상 회의실 허브 아이콘(404) 사이에 부가적인 아이콘(도시되지 않았음)을 도입하여 분할 관련 정보를 제공할 수도 있다. 소정의 시간이 경과한 후 호스트(406)로부터 입력을 수신하면 또는 하나 또는 그 이상의 참가자(410,412,414,416)로부터 입력을 수신하면, 시스템(100)은 곧 분할된 가상 회의실 통신 세션을 재결합하고 또한 설정되었던 사이드바(422,424)들을 선택적으로 종료시킨다.
공유 문서 또는 데이터(420)에 대한 액세스를 관리하는 능력은 통신 세션(402)이 여러 방식으로 수정됨에 따라 그래픽 유저 인터페이스를 통해 손쉬운 방식으로 관리된다. 예를 들어 사이드바 세션(424)이 문서(420)의 일부를 편집하고자 한다면 호스트가 위치(420)으로부터의 페이지 또는 페이지의 그룹을 사이드바 참가자에게로 드래그-앤-드롭하여 할당할 수 있다. 다른 페이지들도 사이드바(422)에 할당되도록 드래그-앤-드롭될 수 있다.
도 5는 별도의 통신 세션(506)을 통해 가상 회의실(502) 내의 자원(504)에 액세스하는 것을 도시한다. 가상 회의실 통신 세션(502)과 상기 가상 회의실의 공유 자원(504)은 활동중인 참가자가 아무도 없는 경우에도 계속 존재한다. 별도의 통신 세션(506) 상의 사용자는 자신의 디스플레이부(500)를 통해 빈 가상 회의실(502) 및 공유 자원(504)의 표현을 볼 수 있다. 상기 사용자는 공유 자원들 중 하나를 선택하고 이들 드래그하거나 또는 다른 방법으로 움직여 상기 별도의 통신 세션(506)에 위치시켜 다른 참가자들과 이를 공유한다. 상기 별도의 통신 세션(506)내에서의 공유자원(504)에 대한 보안 및 액세스 허가는 예를 들어 판독만 가능할 수도 있고, 읽기-쓰기가 모두 가능하거나, 또는 상기 별도의 통신 세션 내 참가자들중 최대 허가 레벨에 기초할 수도 있다. 이에 대한 다른 변형예에 있어서는 상기 별도의 통신 세션(506)에서 사용할 수 있도록 시스템(100)이 가상 회의실(502) 내의 공유 자원(504)에 대한 로컬 사본을 생성할 수도 있다. 이렇게 함으로써, 별도 통신 세션의 참가자는 원래의 공유 자원(504)을 변경하지 않고 로컬 사본을 변경할 수 있다. 일 형태에 따르면 통신 세션(506)은, 공유 자원(504)과는 동일하지 않은 그러나 공유 자원(504)에 대한 액세스를 표현하는 부가적인 비-사람형 그래픽 아이콘(non-person graphical icon)과 함께 디스플레이된다.
이제 도 6에 도시된 예시적인 방법의 실시형태에 대해 설명한다. 명확성을 위해, 본 방법은, 본 방법을 실행하기 위해 구성된 도 1에 도시된 것과 같은 예시적인 시스템과 관련해서 설명된다.

시스템(100)은 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스(GUI)를 통해 회의 참가자에게, 가상 회의실 통신 세션의 구조를 나타내는 연결된 그래픽 요소들의 세트를 표시한다(604). 특정 참가자를 나타내는 그래픽 요소들은, 그 특정 참가자의 권한, 기능 및 사용가능한 통신 방식 중 하나 이상을 표시할 수 있다.
시스템(100)은 회의 참가자 중 하나로부터, 연결된 그래픽 요소들의 세트와 관련된 입력으로서, 가상 회의실 통신 세션(606)과 관련된 동작을 갖는 입력을 수신하며(606), 수신된 사용자 입력에 기초하여 동작을 수행한다(608). 일 측면에서, 회의실 호스트는 가상 회의실 통신 세션의 모든 측면을 조작할 수 있는 완전한 권한을 갖고, 호스트가 아닌 참가자는 가상 회의실 통신 세션을 조작하는데 제한된 권한을 갖는다.
가상 회의실의 지속 특성은 다양한 요인들에 기초하여 유지 또는 "지속"될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 가상 회의실은 통신 세션의 결과에 기초하여 지속될 수 있다. 호스트는, 참가자들이 세션 및 문서들을 다시 보고 추가적으로 수정한 후 다시 보고하도록, 회의실이 1 시간 또는 1 주일 동안 지속되어야 함을 나타내는 사용자 입력을 제공할 수 있다. 회의실 호스트가 통신 세션에 참가하는 동안, 또는 세션에서 정족수의 참가자가 활성인 동안 통신 세션은 지속될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 어떤 조직은 특정 문서를 변경하는데 일정 정족수를 요구하는 규정을 가지고 있을 수 있다. 그 정족수의 참가자가 존재하는 한, 회의실은 지속될 수 있다. 그런 요인에 기초하여, 공유 문서의 전부 또는 일부가 제외될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 의제는 유지될 수 있지만, 정족수에 따라서만 수정될 수 있는 규정 또는 사규와 관련된 공유 문서는 제외될 수 있다.
CEO가 통화에 참석하는지 여부, 문서가 변경되는지 여부, 임시(ad-hoc) 사이드바(sidebar)가 개설되었는지 여부, 자동 음성 인식 시스템이 특정 단어 또는 명령("이 문서를 저장하고 나중에 수정하자.")을 인식하였는지 여부 등과 같은 동적인 팩터에 기초하여, 또는 통신 세션에서의 여하한 기타 트리거 이벤트에 기초하여, 회의실이 지속될 수 있다.
다른 측면에서, 호스트는 지속적 세션이, 그 지속 특성을 유지하거나 세션을 닫도록 하는 다른 트리거를 갖도록 조정할 수 있다. 사용자가 문서(420)를 최종 형태에 이를 때까지 계속해서 수정하는 세션에서, "최종" 버튼이 세션 내에 남아있을 수 있다. 그러면, 사용자는 "최종" 버튼을 클릭하여 입력을 제공하고 지속적 세션을 닫을 수 있다. 이 동작은 또한, 자동적으로 참가자들에게 문서가 최종본임을 통지할 수 있으며, 추후 세션을 스케줄하는 등의 다른 동작을 취할 수 있다.
이와 관련하여, 세션 제어를 위해 지속적 세션 내에 다양한 지속 버튼 옵션이 포함될 수 있다. 다른 매커니즘도 이용될 수 있다. 지속적 세션에 대한 제어는 지속적 세션 출력 또는 부산물을 유지하는 것을 포함한다. 음성 녹음, 회의 기록, 생성, 수정 또는 제시된 문서, 텍스트 메시지 히스토리, 속기록(transcription), 비디오 녹화 등이 저장될 수 있고 지속적 세션 내에서 사용 가능할 수 있다. 이들은 도 4a에서 문서 420으로 일반적으로 도시되었다.
함께 지속되는 이러한 정보는 지속적 세션의 참가자에 대한 연락처 정보를 포함할 수 있다. 많은 관점에서, 통신 세션은 특정 주제 또는 문서에 대한 유일한 세션은 아니다. 참가자는 가끔 추후 보고 세션을 필요로 한다. 지속적 세션은 이후의 세션을 위해 모든 연락처 정보를 유지할 수 있으며, 회의는 계속적인 논의 또는 공유 문서에 대한 작업을 위해 참가자 전부 또는 일부에 의해 쉽게 재활성화될 수 있다. 이 맥락에서 적용되는 다른 특성은, 지속적 세션의 참가자에 대해 업데이트된 연락처 정보를 유지할 수 있는 시스템(100)의 기능이다. 예를 들어, 존이 세션에 참가했었고 세션의 지속 특성의 일부로서 그가 유지되고 있었지만, 후속 세션 전에 그의 이메일 주소와 전화 번호를 변경한 경우에, 시스템은 지속적 세션 내에서 연락처 정보를 자동으로 업데이트할 수 있으며, 이에 의해 세션이 재활성화되었을 때 모든 참가자의 최신 정보를 쉽게 이용할 수 있다.

Claims (10)

  1. 가상 회의실 통신 세션을 관리하는 컴퓨터 구현 방법으로서,
    상기 방법은 통신 장치로 하여금,
    가상 회의실 통신 세션의 참가자가 이용할 수 있는 공유 자원을 포함하는 지속적 가상 회의실 통신 세션을 수립하는 단계;
    상기 가상 회의실 통신 세션의 구조를 나타내는 일련의 연결된 그래픽 요소를 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스(GUI; graphical user interface)를 통해 회의 참가자에게 디스플레이하는 단계;
    상기 일련의 연결된 그래픽 요소와 관련된 입력을 상기 회의 참가자 중 한 명으로부터 수신하는 단계 - 상기 입력은 상기 가상 회의실 통신 세션과 관련된 액션을 포함함 -; 및
    상기 수신된 사용자 입력에 기초하여 상기 액션을 수행하는 단계를
    포함하는 단계들을 수행하도록 하는
    가상 회의실 통신 세션을 관리하는 컴퓨터 구현 방법.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 가상 회의실 통신 세션은 상기 통신 세션의 참가자가 없는 경우 지속되는
    가상 회의실 통신 세션을 관리하는 컴퓨터 구현 방법.
  3. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 공유 자원은 서비스, 애플리케이션, 자료(material), 의제(agenda) 및 문서 버전 콘트롤 중 적어도 하나를 포함하는
    가상 회의실 통신 세션을 관리하는 컴퓨터 구현 방법.
  4. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 지속적 가상 회의실 통신 세션이 비활성이고, 또한 상기 액션은 상기 비활성 통신 세션을 재활성시키는
    가상 회의실 통신 세션을 관리하는 컴퓨터 구현 방법.
  5. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 방법은 상기 통신 장치로 하여금,
    상기 지속적 가상 회의실 통신 세션 내의 상호작용 히스토리(history)를 기록하는 단계를 더 수행하도록 하는
    가상 회의실 통신 세션을 관리하는 컴퓨터 구현 방법.
  6. 제 5 항에 있어서,
    상기 상호작용 히스토리는 참가자 액티비티(activity), 세션 출력, 부산물(byproduct), 음성 레코딩, 회의 노드(node), 텍스트 메시징 히스토리, 속기록(transcription), 비디오 레코딩 및 생산, 수정 또는 제시된 문서 중 적어도 하나를 포함하는
    가상 회의실 통신 세션을 관리하는 컴퓨터 구현 방법.
  7. 제 6 항에 있어서,
    상기 방법은 사용자의 요청에 기초하여 상기 상호작용 히스토리의 적어도 일부를 제시하는(presenting) 단계를 더 포함하는
    가상 회의실 통신 세션을 관리하는 컴퓨터 구현 방법.
  8. 제 7 항에 있어서,
    상기 상호작용 히스토리는 세션 제어, 분리된 또는 합병된 이벤트의 히스토리 중 적어도 하나를 포함하는
    가상 회의실 통신 세션을 관리하는 컴퓨터 구현 방법.
  9. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 방법은 상기 통신 세션에서 참가자 관련 정보를 기록하는 단계를 더 포함하는
