- 유입부와 유출부를 가진 유동 통로;유동 통로의 적어도 일부를 가열하도록 유동 통로에 대하여 배치된 히터;유동 통로의 유입부가 그것과 교통 상태에 있는, 휘발되어야할 물질원;물질원과 유동 통로 사이에 작동 가능하게 위치되며, 유동 통로의 유입부와 물질원 사이에서의 교통 상태를 개방하고 폐쇄하도록 개방가능하고 폐쇄 가능한 밸브;밸브가 개방 위치에 있을때 물질원내의 물질을 물질원으로부터 유동 통로 안을 도입하게 하는 압력 장치;히터와 밸브를 작동하는 동력원; 및,동력원으로부터 히터와 밸브로의 동력 공급을 제어하는 제어 장치; 를 구비하는 에어로졸 발생기.

- 제 1 항에 있어서,소정의 공기 유량이 유동 통로의 유출부에 근접하여 존재하는 때를 측정하는 공기 유동 검출 장치를 더 구비하고, 공기 유동 검출 장치는 소정의 공기 유량이 존재한다는 것을 나타내도록 신호를 콘트롤러에 보내도록 배치되며, 콘트롤러는 유동 통로의 유출부의 상류측과 그에 횡방향인 위치에 선택적으로 배치된 공기 유동 검출 장치로부터의 신호에 응답하여 동력을 밸브와 히터에 공급하도록 동력원을 제어하게끔 배치되며, 공기 유동 검출 장치는 선택적으로 유동 센서를 구비하고, 에어로졸 발생기는, 유동 통로의 유출부가 마우스 피스의 개방 단부로부터 거리를 두고 마우스피스 부분의 내측에 배치하는 상태로 개방 단부를 가진 마우스피스 부분을 선택적으로 구비하며, 마우스피스 부분은, 유동 통로의 유출부가 마우스피스의 개방 단부와 배출 구멍들 사이에서 마우스피스 부분 내에 배치되도록 설치된 복수개의 배출 구멍들을 선택적으로 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 에어로졸 발생기.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,소정의 압력 강하가 유동 통로의 유출부에 근접하여 발생할때를 측정하는 압력 강하 검출 장치를 더 구비하고, 압력 강하 검출 장치는 소정의 압력 강하가 발생하는 것을 나타내도록 신호를 콘트롤러에 보내도록 배치되며, 콘트롤러는 압력 강하 검출 장치로부터의 신호에 응답하여 동력을 밸브와 히터에 공급하도록 동력원을 제어하도록 배치되며, 유동 통로의 유출부가 마우스피스 부분의 개방 단부로부터 거리를 두고 마우스피스 부분의 내측에 배치된 상태에서 에어로졸 발생기는 개방 단부를 가진 마우스피스 부분을 선택적으로 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 에어로졸 발생기.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,제어 장치는, 제어 장치가 동력을 밸브와 히터로 공급하도록 동력 공급을 그것으로써 제어하는, 주파수 제어용 타이머를 구비하고, 에어로졸 발생기는, 제어 장치가 동력을 밸브와 히터로 공급하도록 동력 공급을 그것으로써 조절하는 주파수를 조절하도록 타이머를 조절하게끔 적합화된 원격 제어 장치를 선택적으로 구비하고, 여기에서 타이머는 제어 장치가 동력을 밸브와 히터에 공급하도록 동력 공급을제어하는데 사용된다는 것을 나타내는 지시부를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 에어로졸 발생기.

- 제 1 항에 있어서,제어 장치는 밸브가 개방 상태에 있는 시간량과 동력이 히터에 공급되는 시간량중 적어도 하나의 조절을 가능하게 하도록 배치되고, 에어로졸 발생기는 밸브가 개방 상태에 있는 시간량과 동력이 히터에 공급되는 시간량중 적어도 하나를 조절하도록 적합화된 원격 제어 장치를 선택적으로 구비하고, 제어 장치는, 상기 제어 장치가 동력을 밸브와 히터에 공급하도록 동력을 그것으로써 제어하는 주파수를 제어하기 위한 타이머, 및/또는 상기 제어 장치가 동력을 밸브와 히터에 공급하도록 동력을 그것으로써 제어하는 주파수를 조절하게끔 적합화된 원격 제어 장치를 선택적으로 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 에어로졸 발생기.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,동력원으로부터 히터로 공급되는 동력의 비율 및/또는 유동 통로의 치수는, 에어로졸 발생기가, 3 미크론보다 작고, 바람직스럽게는 2 미크론 보다 작고, 보다 바람직스럽게는 0.2 내지 2 미크론 사이이며, 가장 바람직스럽게는 0.5 내지 1 미크론 사이인 덩어리의 중간적인 입자 직경을 가진 에어로졸을 발생시키게끔 선택되는 것을 특징으로 하는 에어로졸 발생기.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,압력 장치가 물질원으로부터 물질을 공급하는 압력 및/또는 동력이 동력원으로부터 공급되는 비율은, 물질이 초당 1 밀리그램 보다 큰 비율로 유동 통로에 공급되어 휘발되도록 선택되는 것을 특징으로 하는 에어로졸 발생기.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,히터 이전의 지점에서 유동 통로와 교통하는 액체 형태인 제 2 물질원을 더 구비하고, 압력 장치는 밸브가 개방 위치에 있을때 제 2 물질원내의 물질이 물질원으로부터 유동 통로 안으로 도입되게 하고, 물질원은 제 1 의 유연성 콘테이너를 구비하고 제 2 의 물질원은 제 2 의 유연성 콘테이너를 구비하며, 압력 장치는, 제1 의 유연성 콘테이너가 그 안에 배치되는 제 1 챔버, 제 1 의 챔버내에 시일되어 제 1 의 유연성 콘테이너를 둘러싸는 제 1 의 압축 개스, 제 2 의 유연성 콘테이너가 그 안에 배치되는 제 2 챔버 및, 제 2 챔버내에 시일되고 제 2 의 유연성 콘테이너를 둘러싸는 제 2 의 압축 개스를 구비하고, 제 1 압축 개스와 제 2 압축 개스는 선택적으로 상이한 압력으로 압축되는 것을 특징으로 하는 에어로졸 발생기.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,유입부와 유출부를 가지는 제 2 의 유동 통로,제 2 유동 통로의 적어도 일부를 가열하도록 제 2 유동 통로에 대하여 배치된 제 2 의 히터,제 2 유동 통로의 유입부가 그것과 교통하고 있는, 휘발되어야할 제 2 물질원,제 2 물질원과 제 2 유동 통로 사이에 작동 가능하게 위치하고, 제 2 물질원과 제 2 유동 통로의 유입부 사이에서의 교통을 개방하고 폐쇄하도록 개방 가능하고 폐쇄 가능한 제 2 밸브,제 2 밸브가 개방 위치에 있을때 제 2 물질원내에 있는 물질이 제 2 물질원으로부터 제 2 유동 통로 안으로 도입되게 하는 제 2 압력 장치를 더 구비하고,동력원은 동력을 제 2 히터와 제 2 밸브로 공급하고, 제어 장치는 동력원으로부터 제 2 히터와 제 2 밸브로의 동력 공급을 제어하고, 에어로졸 발생기는 선택적으로 챔버를 더 구비하고, 유동 통로의 유출부는 서로에 근접하여 챔버내에 배치되며, 휘발된 물질이 제 1 및, 제 2 의 에어로졸을 각각 형성하도록 챔버는 유출부의 밖으로 주위의 공기와 함께 팽창한 휘발 물질들의 혼합물이 가능하게 하는 충분한 크기 및, 구성이며, 제 1 및, 제 2 의 에어로졸은 제 1 및, 제 2 에어로졸을 포함하는 조합 에어로졸을 형성하도록 서로 혼합되는 것을 특징으로 하는 에어로졸 발생기.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,고체 입자들이 물질내의 용액안에 선택적으로 현탁되어 있거나, 또는 고체 입자들이 용액내에 현탁되어 있을때에 에어로졸 형태안의 물질 입자보다 큰 평균 직경이거나, 또는 고체 입자들이 에어로졸의 일부를 형성할때 에어로졸 형태안의 물질 입자들보다 큰 평균 직경이도록, 물질이 휘발되기 전에 물질원내의 물질은 함께 혼합된 두개 또는 그 이상의 구성 요소들을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 에어로졸 발생기.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,밸브는 마이크로밸브인 것을 특징으로 하는 에어로졸 발생기.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,밸브, 히터 및, 유동 통로는 단일 칩 위에서 형성된 단일 마이크로전자 기계인 것을 특징으로 하는 에어로졸 발생기.

- 유입부와 유출부를 가지는 유동 통로를 가열하도록 유동 통로에 대하여 히터를 배치하는 단계;유동 통로의 유입부를 휘발되어야할 물질원에 연결하는 단계;물질원과 유동 통로 사이에 개방 가능하고 폐쇄 가능한 밸브를 제공하는 단계;밸브가 개방 위치에 있을때 물질원내의 물질이 물질원으로부터 유동 통로 안으로 도입되게 하는 압력 장치를 제공하는 단계;밸브를 개방하고 폐쇄시키는 동력원에 밸브를 연결하는 단계;히터를 동력원에 연결하는 단계;동력원으로부터 히터와 밸브로의 동력 공급을 제어하는 제어 장치에 동력원을 연결하는 단계;를 구비하는 에어로졸 발생기의 제조 방법.
- 제 20 항에 있어서,압력 장치를 제공하는 단계는 선택적으로 최대 약 2 기압까지 가압된 챔버안에 물질원을 위치시키는 것을 구비하고, 물질원은 유연성 콘테이너를 구비하거나 또는 물질원은 유입부와 유출부를 가진 제 2 유동 통로를 구비하고, 그 방법은 제 2 유동 통로의 유입부를 유동 통로의 유출부에 연결하고 제 2 유동 통로의 유출부를 챔버내에 위치시키는 단계를 더 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.

- 제 25 항에 있어서,제 1 신호는 사용자가 버튼을 누름으로써 제공되거나, 또는 제 1 신호는 유동 통로의 유출부에 근접하여 선택적으로 배치된 공기 유동 검출 장치를 작동시키는 방식으로 마우스피스상에서 사용자가 빨아들임으로써 제공되거나, 또는 제 1 신호가 유동 통로의 유출부에 근접하여 선택적으로 배치된, 불어서 작동하는 센서(puff actuated sensor)를 작동시키는 방식으로 사용자가 마우스피스상에서 빨아들임으로써 제공되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 25 항에 있어서,물질원은 유연성 콘테이너를 구비하고 물질원내의 물질은 압력 장치에 의해서 물질원으로부터 유동하게 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 27 항에 있어서,압력 장치는 압력하에서 충전된 챔버를 구비하며, 그 안에는 유연성 콘테이너가 배치되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 투약된 유체의 압력원;유체의 압력원과 유체 교통 상태인 계량 챔버; 및,계량 챔버로부터 유체의 소정 체적을 배출시키는 변위 부재; 를 구비하는 흡입기내 계량 장치.
- 제 29 항에 있어서,계량 챔버는 밸브 안에 구멍을 구비하고 변위 부재는 피스톤을 구비하며, 밸브는 로타리 밸브를 선택적으로 구비하고 여기에서 피스톤은 구멍내에서 미끄러지며, 유체의 압력원으로부터 가압된 유체는 피스톤이 유체의 소정 체적을 구멍으로부터 배출되게 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 계량 장치.
