Description
前記内燃機関に接続される排気管と、前記排気管の下流に接続される排気マフラーとを備えた内燃機関の排気装置において、
前記排気マフラーは、前記排気管に接続される第1マフラー部と、前記第1マフラー部の下流側に接続される第2マフラー部を備え、
前記排気管から送られる排気は、前記第1マフラー部を通って前記第2マフラー部より前記排気マフラーの外部に排出され、
前記第1マフラー部は、内管と前記内管を覆う外管とからなる円筒部と、前記円筒部の前記外管と前記第2マフラー部の外殻とを接続する接続部を備え、
前記第2マフラー部は、前記外殻と、前記外殻の内部空間の前部を仕切る第1仕切壁と、前記第1仕切壁より後方を仕切る第2仕切壁と、前記第2仕切壁より後方を仕切る第3仕切壁と、を備え、
前記第2マフラー部の断面積は、前記第1マフラー部の前記円筒部の断面積よりも大きく設定され、
前記排気マフラーは、前記第1マフラー部の前記外管、前記接続部、前記内管、前記第2マフラー部の前記外殻および前記第1仕切壁とで囲まれ、排気管から排気ガスが流入する第1膨張室と、前記第2マフラー部の前記外殻と前記第2仕切壁および前記第3仕切壁で囲まれた第2膨張室と、前記第2マフラー部の前記外殻と前記第1仕切壁と前記第2仕切壁で囲まれた第3膨張室を備え、
前記第2マフラー部は、前記第1仕切壁および第2仕切壁を貫通し前記第1膨張室の排気ガスを前記第2膨張室に導く連通管と、前記第3膨張室と連通し第2仕切壁と前記第3仕切壁を貫通する排気通路管とを備え、
前記第2仕切壁には、前記第2膨張室と前記第3膨張室を連通する連通孔が設けられることを特徴とするものである。
前記排気通路管を、前記第1仕切壁を貫通して前記内管の下流端部に接続し、
前記第1膨張室を、前記第1マフラー部の前記内管と前記外管との間に構成し、
前記排気管は、前記第1膨張室と連通する複数の第1貫通孔を有し、
前記内管に、前記排気管内の排気が前記第1貫通孔から前記第1膨張室に流入する量を変更するバルブを、前記第1貫通孔よりも下流側に内蔵させてもよい。
前記排気通路管を、前記第1仕切壁を貫通して前記内管の下流端部に接続し、
前記第1膨張室を、前記第1マフラー部の前記内管と前記外管との間に構成し、
前記内管は、複数の第1貫通孔を備え、
前記内管に、排気を前記第1貫通孔から前記第1膨張室に排出する量を変更するバルブを、前記第1貫通孔よりも下流側に内蔵させてもよい。
排気ガスを径の大きい排気通路管31より十分排出するとともに、第1膨張室45からの排気を細くて長い形状の連通管37を通過して第2膨張室46に排出することにより、さらに効率良く排気エネルギーを低減し、消音効果をより向上させることができる。

- 鞍乗型車両(1)の車体フレーム(2)に支持された内燃機関(E)の排気を排出し、
前記内燃機関(E)に接続される排気管(21)と、前記排気管(21)の下流に接続される排気マフラー(22)とを備えた内燃機関の排気装置において、
前記排気マフラー(22)は、前記排気管(21,121)に接続される第1マフラー部(23)と、前記第1マフラー部(23)の下流側に接続される第2マフラー部(30)を備え、
前記排気管(21)から送られる排気は、前記第1マフラー部(23)を通って前記第2マフラー部(30)より前記排気マフラー(22)の外部に排出され、
前記第1マフラー部(23)は、内管(25)と前記内管(25)を覆う外管(26)とからなる円筒部(24)と、前記円筒部(24)の前記外管(26)と前記第2マフラー部(30)の外殻(32)とを接続する接続部(28)を備え、
前記第2マフラー部(30)は、前記外殻(32)と、前記外殻(32)の内部空間の前部を仕切る第1仕切壁(34)と、前記第1仕切壁より後方を仕切る第2仕切壁(35)と、前記第2仕切壁(35)より後方を仕切る第3仕切壁(36)と、を備え、
前記第2マフラー部(30)の断面積は、前記第1マフラー部(23)の前記円筒部(24)の断面積よりも大きく設定され、
前記排気マフラー(22)は、前記第1マフラー部(23)の前記外管(26)、前記接続部(28)、前記内管(25)、前記第2マフラー部(30)の前記外殻(32)および前記第1仕切壁(34)とで囲まれ、排気管(21)から排気ガスが流入する第1膨張室(45)と、前記第2マフラー部(30)の前記外殻(32)と前記第2仕切壁(35)および前記第3仕切壁(36)で囲まれた第2膨張室(46)と、前記第2マフラー部(30)の前記外殻(32)と前記第1仕切壁(34)と前記第2仕切壁(35)で囲まれた第3膨張室(47)を備え、
前記第2マフラー部は、前記第1仕切壁(34)および第2仕切壁(35)を貫通し前記第1膨張室の排気ガスを前記第2膨張室(46)に導く連通管(37)と、前記第3膨張室(47)と連通し前記第2仕切壁(35)と前記第3仕切壁(36)を貫通する排気通路管(31)とを備え、
前記第2仕切壁(35)には、前記第2膨張室(46)と前記第3膨張室(47)を連通する連通孔(35d)が設けられることを特徴とする内燃機関の排気装置。 - 前記排気管(21)の下流端部(21e)には、前記内管(25)が接続され、
前記排気通路管(31)は、前記第1仕切壁(34)を貫通して前記内管(25)の下流端部(25b2)に接続され、
前記第1膨張室(45)は、前記第1マフラー部(23)の前記内管(25)と前記外管(26)との間に構成され、
前記排気管(21)は、前記第1膨張室(45)と連通する複数の第1貫通孔(21d)を有し、
前記内管(25)には、前記排気管(21)内の排気が前記第1貫通孔(21d)から前記第1膨張室(45)に流入する量を変更するバルブ(50)が、前記第1貫通孔(21d)よりも下流側に内蔵されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関の排気装置。 - 前記排気管(121)の下流端部(121e)には、前記内管(125)が接続され、
前記排気通路管(31)は、前記第1仕切壁(34)を貫通して前記内管(125)の下流端部(125b2)に接続され、
前記第1膨張室(45)は、前記第1マフラー部(23)の前記内管(125)と前記外管(26)との間に構成され、
前記内管(125)は、複数の第1貫通孔(125c)を備え、
前記内管(125)に、排気を前記第1貫通孔(125c)から前記第1膨張室(45)に排出する量を変更するバルブ(50)が、前記第1貫通孔(125c)よりも下流側に内蔵されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関の排気装置。 - 前記排気通路管(31)と前記第3膨張室(47)とは、前記排気通路管(31)に設けられた複数の第2貫通孔(31e)により連通され、
前記第1貫通孔(21d,125c)の孔径(d7)は、前記第2貫通孔(31d)の孔径(d8)よりも大きいことを特徴とする請求項2または請求項3に記載の内燃機関の排気装置。 - 複数の前記第2貫通孔(31d)の総面積は、複数の前記第1貫通孔(21d,125c)の総面積よりも大きいことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の内燃機関の排気装置。
- 前記外管(26)の内径(d3)は、前記内管(25,125)の内径(d4)の1.5倍以上2.0倍以下であることを特徴とする請求項1ないし請求項4のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気装置。
- 前記連通管(37)の内径(d5)は、前記排気通路管(31)の内径(d6)の半分以下であることを特徴とする請求項1ないし請求項5のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気装置。
- 前記排気管(21,121)、前記内管(25,125)および前記排気通路管(31)を通る排気の流れ方向において、前記第1膨張室(45)の長さ(L1)は、前記第2膨張室(46)の長さ(L2)と前記第3膨張室(47)の長さ(L3)とを合わせた長さよりも長いことを特徴とする請求項1ないし請求項6のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気装置。
- 前記第1貫通孔(21d,121d)は、前記第1マフラー部(23)の排気流れ方向において、前記第1マフラー部(23)の上流端と、前記バルブ(50)のバルブ軸(51)との距離の半分より、前記第1マフラー部(23)の上流端側に位置したことを特徴とする請求項2又は請求項3に記載の内燃機関の排気装置。
