メチルエステルF(CF(CF3)CF2O)aCF(CF3)C(O)OCH3[式中、aは、2~15の平均値である。]の末端基F(CF(CF3)CF2O)aCF(CF3)-を指す。いくつかの実施形態において、「a」の平均値は、3~10であるか、又は5~8である。このような種は、一般的に「a」の値の範囲が、平均値が非整数となり得るような、オリゴマーの分散物(distribution)又は混合物として存在する。例えば、1つの実施形態において、「a」の平均値は6.2である。HFPO-ペルフルオロポリエーテル材料の分子量は、繰り返し単位の数(「a」)に依存して、約940g/モル~約1600g/モルで変化し、典型的には1100g/モル~1400g/モルが好ましい。

フィルム調製
配合物を、表1に示す百分率により混合した。配合物を、Flack Tek(Landrum SC)のDAK150高速ミキサ内にて3000rpmに上げて混合し、均一溶液を得た。2ロールコーターを使用し、2枚の、厚さが50μm(0.002インチ)のPETライナーの間に、配合物を、厚さ約50μm(0.002インチ)でコーティングした。発光極大波長が350nmの複数の蛍光灯を使用し、コーティングした組成物を、約2700ミリジュール/cm2の合計UVAエネルギーに曝露した。低出力検出ヘッド(EIT Incorporated(Sterling,VA)から入手可能)を備えた、POWDERMAP放射計を使用し、合計エネルギーを求めた。これにより、硬化したフィルムサンプルが得られた。フィルムは、透き通った実施例7を除き、白色であった。表1A及び表1B フィルム配合物(全ての量は重量部である。)
厚さ25ミクロンのアクリルPSAのとして使用し、硬化したフィルムサンプル(4インチ×12インチ)をキャリアウェブ(carrier web)(フィルム1)に手作業で適用し、それに印刷の際、サンプルをウェブ上に保持した。硬化したフィルム積層体のフィルム曝露側に、表2及び表3に示す様々な異なるプリンター及びインクのタイプにより印刷した。対照例はフィルム1である。3つのタイプのインクジェットプリンタ、すなわち、HP Latex 360 PrinterとHP 83インク(Hewlett-Packard Development Company,L.P.(Houston,TX)から入手可能)、SOLJET Pro4XR-640とRoland ESL4 Eco Inks(Roland DGA Corp.(Irvine,CA))から入手可能)、EFI VUTEk GS3250LX ProとEFI VUTEk GSLXr 3M SUPERFLEX UV Ink(Electronics For Imaging,Inc.(Fremont,CA)から入手可能)、を使用した。CMYKのカラーバー(100%)を各実施例に印刷し、少なくとも15cm2の面積率とした。また、実施例にスクリーン印刷するには、CAMEOスクリーン印刷装置(American M&M Screen Printing Equipment Company(Chicago,IL.)製)を使用し、メッシュ数230のスクリーン並びに2つのタイプのインク(3M Screenprinting Opaque UV Ink 9802 Black及び3M SCOTCHLITE Transparent Screen Printing Ink 2905 Black,Opaque(両方とも3M Company(St.Paul,MN.)から入手可能)を使用した。溶媒系インクサンプルを、室温で24時間乾燥した。UV硬化したインクサンプルを、すぐにUV処理機を通し、225ミリジュール(mJ)の線量で処理した。各サンプルについて下記に列挙した試験方法を使用し、印刷適性の結果が得られた。それを表2及び表3に示す。
印刷適性
ASTM D7305-08aの「Standard Test Method for Reflection Density of Printed Matter」に従って、絶対印刷濃度試験方法(absolute print density test method)を使用して、印刷適性を評価した。Model504分光濃度計(X-Rite Inc.(Grand Rapids,MI)から入手可能)を使用して、インク濃度を測定した。測定した色濃度を表2及び表3に示す。対照例であるフィルム1は、市販のビニルグラフィックアートフィルムであり、典型的な印刷品質を示す。実施例のフィルムのインク色濃度を対照例のインク色濃度と比較するには、実施例のフィルムの印刷濃度を、対照例の印刷濃度で除算し、結果を基準性能の百分率として表す。100%の達成は、基準彩度を示す。100%より高い値は、より高い彩度を表し、100%未満の値は、より低い彩度を表す。合計色濃度は、シアン色、マゼンタ色、黄色、及び黒色についての測定の和である。
実施例7からの透き通ったフィルムを、接着剤(イソオクチルアクリレート/アクリル酸コポリマーが含まれる感圧接着剤(モノマーはSigma Aldrichから入手可能、コポリマーは米国特許第4,737,577号の実施例5に記載されている方法を使用し調製)など)に積層し、オーバーラミネートフィルムとすることができた。このオーバーラミネートフィルムを使用し、実施例4などの印刷済フィルムを被覆することができた。実施例4からの印刷済フィルムを、3M Screen Print UV Gloss Clear 9740i又は3M Screen Print Matte Clear9730 UV(両方とも3M Company(St.Paul,MN.)から入手可能)などのインクにより、印刷プロセスを使用してオーバーコーティングすることができた。
