しかしながら、本発明は、このように、各ラミネート層によるOTRへの個々の貢献を超えて全体のバリア性を向上させるものである。二つの材料間の界面が特に良好に一体化されて、これにより酸素バリア特性が向上するのは、DLCコーティングとポリオレフィン表面との間の優れた接着性に起因するものであると考えられる。
12μm厚の二軸延伸ポリエチレンテレフタレート(BOPET;三菱製のHostaphan RNK12及びRNK12−2DEF)から作製されたフィルムを、ロール・ツー・ロール式プラズマ反応器において、真空条件下のプラズマ増強化学気相蒸着(PECVD)により、様々なコーティングで蒸着コートした。本発明に沿って、ダイアモンドライクアモルファス水素化カーボンコーティング(DLC)がいくつかのフィルム試料にコートされ、その他のPECVDバリアコーティングが別の試料にコートされた。当該他のPECVDバリアコーティングは、比較例の対象であり、SiOx(xは1.5〜2.2)、並びにSiOxCyコーティング及びSiOxCyNzコーティング(それぞれ(y+z)/xは1〜1.5)とした。これらの他のシリコン含有バリアコーティングは、オルガノシラン前駆体気体化合物から形成された。プラズマ状の純粋なアセチレンガスから水素化アモルファスダイアモンドライクコーティングDLCを蒸着させることにより、本発明に係るフィルム試料がコートされた。
表2に記載するように、例1で使用されたものと同様のBOPETフィルムの片面及び両面を同様の薄いDLCコーティングでコートした。例1と同じ方法により、23℃及び50%RHで、OTRがcc/m2/日/大気圧として測定された。次いで、15g/m2のLDPEの結合層により、また、25g/m2のLDPE及びmLLDPEのブレンドの内側層でフィルムの反対側がさらにコートされることにより、DLCコートされたフィルムがラミネートされ、外側LDPE層を有する板紙を含む包装材料構造とされた。上述のものと同じ方法により、ラミネート包装材料についてOTRが測定された。

Claims (13)
- ベース層(11a)を備えるラミネートバリアフィルムから作製された、液体用のカートン包装容器において使用するための熱封止可能な縁部カバーバリアストリップ(26)であって、
前記ベース層(11a)は、前記ベース層の第1面に、アモルファスダイアモンドライクカーボン(DLC)コーティングの第1コーティング(11b)を有し、
コートされた前記ベース層は、前記第1DLCコーティングと連続的に接触しているコートされた前記ベース層(11)の前記第1面に、液密性の熱封止可能な第1最外ポリマー層(12)をさらに有し、前記ベース層の反対側の第2面に、液密性の熱封止可能な第2最外ポリマー層(13)をさらに有する、熱封止可能な縁部カバーバリアストリップ。 - フィルムラミネートの前記ベース層(11a)は、前記第1DLCコーティング(11b)がコートされた側と反対側の第2面に、接着促進プライマーコーティング(11c)を有し、前記ベース層は、前記接着促進プライマーコーティングにより、前記液密性の熱封止可能な第2最外ポリマー層(13)に結合されている、請求項1に記載の熱封止可能な縁部カバーバリアストリップ。
- 前記接着促進プライマーコーティング(11c)は、アモルファスダイアモンドライクカーボン(DLC)コーティングの第2コーティングである、請求項2に記載の熱封止可能な縁部カバーバリアストリップ。
- 前記熱封止可能なポリマーは、ポリオレフィンである、請求項1〜3に記載のいずれか一項に記載の熱封止可能な縁部カバーバリアストリップ。
- DLCコートされた第1ベース層(11)は、介在する熱可塑性結合層(16)により、さらなるDLCコートされた第2ベース層(11d)にラミネート及び結合され、フィルムラミネートは、DLCコートされた第1ポリマーフィルム基層(11)のラミネートされていない反対側に、液密性の熱封止可能な第1最外ポリマー層(12)をさらに備え、DLCコートされた第2ポリマーフィルム基層(11d)のラミネートされていない反対側に、液密性の熱封止可能な第2最内ポリマー層(13)をさらに備える、請求項1〜4に記載のいずれか一項に記載の熱封止可能な縁部カバーバリアストリップ。
- 前記ベース層(11a)は、ポリエステル(ポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)、一軸延伸若しくは二軸延伸PET(OPET、BOPET)、非延伸若しくは一軸延伸若しくは二軸延伸ポリエチレンフラノレート(PEF)、延伸若しくは非延伸ポリブチレンテレフタレート(PBT)、ポリエチレンナフタネート(PEN))、ポリアミド(延伸若しくは非延伸ポリアミド(PA、OPA、BOPA))、エチレンビニルアルコールコポリマー(EVOH)、ポリオレフィン(ポリプロピレン、一軸延伸若しくは二軸延伸ポリプロピレン(PP、OPP、BOPP)、ポリエチレン(延伸若しくは非延伸高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)、鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)))、及びシクロオレフィンコポリマー(COC)、並びに前記ポリマーのブレンドをベースとしたフィルムから成る群から選択されるポリマーフィルムであるか、又は、前記ポリマー若しくはそのブレンドを含む表面層を有する多層フィルムである、請求項1〜5に記載のいずれか一項に記載の熱封止可能な縁部カバーバリアストリップ。
- 前記ベース層(11a)は、ポリエステル、ポリアミド、若しくはポリエチレンビニルアルコールコポリマー(EVOH)、若しくはそのブレンドをベースとしたフィルムから成る群から選択されるポリマーフィルム、又は、前記ポリマー若しくはそのブレンドを含む表面層を有する多層フィルムである、請求項1〜6に記載のいずれか一項に記載の熱封止可能な縁部カバーバリアストリップ。
- 前記第1アモルファスダイアモンドライクカーボンDLCコーティング(11b)は、厚さが2〜100nm、又は5〜50nm、又は5〜40nm、又は10〜40nm、又は10〜35nmとなるように適用されている、請求項1〜7に記載のいずれか一項に記載の熱封止可能な縁部カバーバリアストリップ。
- 前記第1アモルファスダイアモンドライクカーボンDLCコーティング(11b)は、接着促進コーティングであり、厚さが2〜50nm、又は2〜10nm、又は2〜5nmとなるように適用されている、請求項1〜8に記載のいずれか一項に記載の熱封止可能な縁部カバーバリアストリップ。
- 第2アモルファスダイアモンドライクバリアコーティング(11c)が、厚さが2〜50nm、又は2〜40nm、又は2〜10nm、又は2〜5nmとなるように適用されている、請求項1〜9に記載のいずれか一項に記載の熱封止可能な縁部カバーバリアストリップ。
- 請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載の熱封止可能な縁部カバーバリアストリップを備える包装容器(50a;50b;50c;50d)。
- 請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載のラミネートバリアフィルム(10a;10b)をベースとする熱封止可能な縁部カバーバリアストリップを製造する方法であって、
予め製造されたベース層(11a)に対してアモルファスダイアモンドライクカーボン(DLC)のコーティング(11b)の気体蒸着を行うことによりバリアフィルムのラミネートを行うステップと、
上述のようにDLCコートされた前記ベース層(11;31)を、DLCコートされた前記ベース層の両側で、液密性の熱封止可能なポリマー(32、33)の最外層(12、13)にラミネートするステップと、
を含み、
DLCコートされた前記ベース層(11;31)の表面処理を行うステップを、上述のように表面処理されたDLCコートされたベース層に対して液密性の熱封止可能なポリマーの前記最外層(12、13)をラミネートする前記ステップの前にさらに含む方法。 - 液密性の熱封止可能なポリマーの前記最外層(12、13)のうち少なくとも一つは、DLCコートされた前記ベース層(11;31)に対してポリマー溶融物(32、33)の押出コーティングを行うことにより適用される、請求項12に記載の方法。
