しかしながら、本発明は、このように、各ラミネート層によるOTRへの個々の貢献を超えて全体のバリア性を向上させるものである。二つの材料間の界面が特に良好に一体化されて、これにより酸素バリア特性が向上するのは、DLCコーティングとポリオレフィン表面との間の優れた接着性に起因するものであると考えられる。
12μm厚の二軸延伸ポリエチレンテレフタレート(BOPET;三菱製のHostaphan RNK12及びRNK12−2DEF)から作製されたフィルムを、ロール・ツー・ロール式プラズマ反応器において、真空条件下のプラズマ増強化学気相蒸着(PECVD)により、様々なコーティングで蒸着コートした。本発明に沿って、ダイアモンドライクアモルファス水素化カーボンコーティング(DLC)がいくつかのフィルム試料にコートされ、その他のPECVDバリアコーティングが別の試料にコートされた。当該他のPECVDバリアコーティングは、比較例の対象であり、SiOx(xは1.5〜2.2)、並びにSiOxCyコーティング及びSiOxCyNzコーティング(それぞれ(y+z)/xは1〜1.5)とした。これらの他のシリコン含有バリアコーティングは、オルガノシラン前駆体気体化合物から形成された。プラズマ状の純粋なアセチレンガスから水素化アモルファスダイアモンドライクコーティングDLCを蒸着させることにより、本発明に係るフィルム試料がコートされた。
表2に記載するように、例1で使用されたものと同様のBOPETフィルムの片面及び両面を同様の薄いDLCコーティングでコートした。例1と同じ方法により、23℃及び50%RHで、OTRがcc/m2/日/大気圧として測定された。次いで、15g/m2のLDPEの結合層により、また、25g/m2のLDPE及びmLLDPEのブレンドの内側層でフィルムの反対側がさらにコートされることにより、DLCコートされたフィルムがラミネートされ、外側LDPE層を有する板紙を含む包装材料構造とされた。上述のものと同じ方法により、ラミネート包装材料についてOTRが測定された。

Claims (19)
- バリアフィルム(11;11d;28;38)を備える液体食品の包装のためのラミネート包装材料(10a;10b;20;30)であって、
前記バリアフィルム(11;11d;28;38)は、ウェブ又はシートの形態の基層(11a;24;34)、及びアモルファスダイアモンドライクカーボン(DLC)の第1コーティング(11b;25;35a)を備え、
前記ラミネート包装材料は、前記バリアフィルム(11;28;38)の第1面に、液密性の熱封止可能な第1最外ポリマー層(12;22;32)であって前記ラミネート包装材料から作製された包装容器の最外面を提供する第1最外ポリマー層(12;22;32)をさらに備え、その反対側である内側の前記バリアフィルムの第2面に、液密性の熱封止可能な第2最内ポリマー層(13;23;33)であってパックされる製品と接触することになる前記ラミネート包装材料から作製された包装容器の最内面を提供する第2最内ポリマー層(13;23;33)をさらに備える、ラミネート包装材料(10a;10b;20;30)。 - 前記基層(11a;24;34)は、ポリマーフィルム基材である、請求項1に記載のラミネート包装材料(10a;10b;20;30)。
- 紙若しくは板紙又は他のセルロース系材料のバルク層(21;31)をさらに備える、請求項1又は2に記載のラミネート包装材料(10a;10b;20;30)。
- 紙若しくは板紙又は他のセルロース系材料のバルク層(21;31)をさらに備え、前記バリアフィルム(11;28;38)は、熱可塑性ポリマー結合層などの結合層(26;36)により前記バルク層の第1面に結合され、前記液密性の熱封止可能な第1最外ポリマー層(22;32)が、その反対側である外側の前記バルク層の第2面に適用されている一方、前記液密性の熱封止可能な第2最内ポリマー層(23;33)は、前記バルク層(21;31)に結合されている面と反対側の前記バリアフィルム(28;38)の内側面に適用されている、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のラミネート包装材料(10a;10b;20;30)。
- 前記結合層(26;36)は、前記バリアフィルム(11;28;38)の前記第1DLCコーティング(11b;25、35a)の表面と、前記バルク層(21;31)の前記第1面の表面とを一つに結合させる、請求項4に記載のラミネート包装材料(10a;10b;20;30)。
- 結合層(26;36)は、前記第1DLCコーティング(11b;25;35a)である前記バリアフィルム(11;28;38)の前記第1面と直接接触している、すなわち前記第1面と連続的である、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載のラミネート包装材料(10a;10b;20;30)。
- 前記第1DLCコーティング(11b;25;35a)は、バリアコーティングである、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載のラミネート包装材料(10a;10b;20;30)。
- 前記バリアフィルムの前記基層(11a;24;34)は、バリアコーティング(11b)でコートされた側と反対側の他面に接着促進プライマーコーティング(11c;27;35b)を有し、前記バリアフィルムは、前記接着促進プライマーコーティングにより、前記液密性の熱封止可能な第2最内ポリオレフィン層(13;23;33)に結合されている、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載のラミネート包装材料(10a;10b;20;30)。
- 前記接着促進プライマーコーティング(11c;27)は、アミノシラン及びポリエチレンイミンから成る群から選択された一つ以上の化合物を含む組成物により形成されている、請求項8に記載のラミネート包装材料(10a;10b;20;30)。
- 前記接着促進プライマーコーティング(11c;35b)は、アモルファスダイアモンドライクカーボン(DLC)の第2コーティングである、請求項8に記載のラミネート包装材料(10a;10b;20;30)。
- 前記ラミネート包装材料の前記バリアフィルムは、介在する熱可塑性結合層によりさらなる同一又は類似の第2バリアフィルム(11d)にラミネート及び結合されている第1バリアフィルム(11)を備える二重バリアフィルムである、請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載のラミネート包装材料(10a;10b;20;30)。
- 第1バリアフィルム(11)は、介在する熱可塑性結合層により、さらなる同一又は類似の第2バリアフィルム(11d)にラミネート及び結合され、前記ラミネート包装材料は、前記バリアフィルム(11)のラミネートされていない反対側に、液密性の熱封止可能な第1最外ポリマー層(12)をさらに備え、前記バリアフィルム(11d)のラミネートされていない反対側に、液密性の熱封止可能な第2最内ポリマー層(13)をさらに備える、請求項1又は2を引用する請求項6〜11のいずれか一項に記載のラミネート包装材料(10a;10b;20;30)。
- 前記基層(11a;24;34)は、ポリエステル(ポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)、一軸延伸若しくは二軸延伸PET(OPET、BOPET)、非延伸若しくは一軸延伸若しくは二軸延伸ポリエチレンフラノレート(PEF)、延伸若しくは非延伸ポリブチレンテレフタレート(PBT)、ポリエチレンナフタネート(PEN)など)、ポリアミド(非延伸若しくは延伸ポリアミド(PA、OPA、BOPA)など)、エチレンビニルアルコールコポリマー(EVOH)、ポリオレフィン(ポリプロピレン、一軸延伸若しくは二軸延伸ポリプロピレン(PP、OPP、BOPP)、ポリエチレン(延伸若しくは非延伸高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)、鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)など)など)、及びシクロオレフィンコポリマー(COC)、並びに前記ポリマーの任意のブレンドのうち任意のものをベースとしたフィルムから成る群から選択されるポリマーフィルムであるか、又は、前記ポリマー若しくはそのブレンドのうち任意のものを含む表面層を有する多層フィルムである、請求項1〜12のいずれか一項に記載のラミネート包装材料(10a;10b;20;30)。
- 前記基層(11a;24;34)は、ポリエステル若しくはポリアミド若しくはそのブレンドのうち任意のものをベースとしたフィルムから成る群から選択されるポリマーフィルムであるか、又は、前記ポリマー若しくはそのブレンドのうち任意のものを含む表面層を有する多層フィルムである、請求項1〜13のいずれか一項に記載のラミネート包装材料(10a;10b;20;30)。
- 前記第1アモルファスダイアモンドライクコーティング(11b;25;35a)は、厚さが2〜50nm、例えば2〜40nm、例えば5〜40nm、例えば5〜35nm、例えば10〜350nmとなるように適用されている、請求項1〜14のいずれか一項に記載のラミネート包装材料(10a;10b;20;30)。
- 接着促進プライマーコーティング(11c;35b)として働く第2アモルファスダイアモンドライクカーボンコーティングが、厚さが2〜50nm、例えば2〜10nm、例えば2〜5nmとなるように適用されている、請求項1〜15のいずれか一項に記載のラミネート包装材料(10a;10b;20;30)。
- 前記基層(11a;24;34)は、延伸PETフィルムである、請求項1〜16のいずれか一項に記載のラミネート包装材料(10a;10b;20;30)。
- 前記基層(11a;24;34)の厚さは、8〜12μm、好ましくは10〜12μmである、請求項1〜17のいずれか一項に記載のラミネート包装材料(10a;10b;20;30)。
- 請求項1〜18のいずれか一項に記載のラミネート包装材料を備える包装容器(50a;50b;50c;50d)。
