Description
黒鉛、カーボンブラックまたは炭素ナノチューブである炭素粉末を含む炭素ペースト;から製造することができる。
望ましくは、前記水分遮断性フィルムと機械的支持層との間に接着層を含むことができ、このときの接着層は耐電解性を有する接着層を使用しなければならない。
(S2)前記電極組立体の外周より長く、両面に形成されたシーラントポリマー層と前記両面のシーラントポリマー層の間に設けられた水分遮断性フィルムを含む水分遮断層を用意する工程;
(S3)前記水分遮断層の両端のシーラントポリマー層が互いに所定部分重なるように前記電極組立体の全体外面を前記水分遮断層で囲む工程;及び
(S4)前記水分遮断層で囲まれた電極組立体を加熱して、前記水分遮断層の両端のシーラントポリマー層が互いに重なった所定部分を接着する工程を含む。
[実施例1]
グラファイト/デンカブラック/PVdF(=70/5/25wt%)からなるスラリーを製造した後、それを250μmの銅ワイヤにコーティングしてグラファイト電極層が形成されたワイヤ型電極を用意した。用意したワイヤ電極4本を巻き取ることで、中空のバネ状であって、リチウムイオン供給コア部を備えることができる開放構造の内部電極部を形成し、その周辺にセパレータを巻き取って分離層を形成した。アルミニウムホイル上にLiCoO2/デンカブラック/PVdF(=85/5/15wt%)を形成した後、導電材スラリー(デンカブラック/PVdF=40/60)を電極層上にコーティングし、導電層スラリー上に多孔性ポリマー基材である不織布を設けて乾燥することで、シート型外部電極を製造した。製造したシート型外部電極を幅2mmに切断した後、内部電極/分離層の周辺にシート型外部電極を巻き取って電極組立体を用意した。
実施例1と同じ電極組立体に、PETポリマー熱収縮性チューブを省略して水分遮断層(PP/PET/Alシート/PP)のみを導入したパッケージが形成されたケーブル型二次電池を製造した。図15に使用されたパッケージの写真が示されている。
実施例1と同じ電極組立体に、水分遮断層を省略してPETポリマー熱収縮性チューブを導入したパッケージが形成されてパッキングされたケーブル型二次電池を製造した。
実施例1と同じ電極組立体に、3層構造ではなく、片面のみにシーラントポリマー層が形成された水分遮断層を備えたパッケージが形成されたケーブル型二次電池を製造した。
実施例1と同じ電極組立体に、水分遮断層が重なっていない形態(チューブ形態)のパッケージが形成されたケーブル型二次電池を製造した。
0.5Cの電流密度で4.2〜3.0Vの電圧条件で充放電実験を行った。実験結果は図13に示した。図13に示されたように、熱収縮性チューブのみを導入した比較例1に比べ、水分遮断層を導入した実施例で電池寿命特性が向上していることが確認でき、このようなパッケージ構造を導入することで、ケーブル電池の水分による寿命劣化現象を効果的に抑制できることが確認された。

Claims (28)
- ケーブル型二次電池における電極組立体を囲むケーブル型二次電池用パッケージであって、
水分遮断性フィルムの両外面上に形成されたシーラントポリマー層と前記シーラントポリマー層の間に設けられた前記水分遮断性フィルムを含む水分遮断層を備え、
前記水分遮断層は、前記電極組立体を囲む管状であり、前記水分遮断層の片面のシーラントポリマー層の一端と、別の面のシーラントポリマー層の別の一端とが所定部分において互いに重なって接着し、
前記水分遮断層の外面を囲む熱収縮性チューブをさらに含むことを特徴とするケーブル型二次電池用パッケージ。 - 前記水分遮断層が、金属シートまたはポリマーシートを含む請求項1に記載のケーブル型二次電池用パッケージ。

前記分離層の外面を囲んでいる外部電極活物質層、及び前記外部電極活物質層内に被覆され、かつ前記分離層の外面を離隔した状態で囲んで巻き取られているシート型外部集電体を備える構造に形成されている請求項13〜17のいずれか一項に記載のケーブル型二次電池。 - 前記外部電極が、前記外部電極活物質層と前記シート型外部集電体とが接合して形成されたシート型外部電極が前記分離層の外面を囲んで巻き取られて形成された請求項13〜17のいずれか一項に記載のケーブル型二次電池。
- 前記外部電極が、外部集電体;前記外部集電体の片面に形成された外部電極活物質層;前記外部電極活物質層の上面に形成され、かつ導電材及びバインダーを含む導電層;前記導電層の上面に形成された多孔性の第1支持層;並びに前記外部集電体の他面に形成された第2支持層を含むシート型外部電極である請求項13〜18のいずれか一項に記載のケーブル型二次電池。
- 前記外部集電体が、メッシュ型集電体である請求項13〜20のいずれか一項に記載のケーブル型二次電池。
- 前記外部集電体が、ステンレススチール、アルミニウム、ニッケル、チタン、焼成炭素もしくは銅;カーボン、ニッケル、チタンもしくは銀で表面処理されたステンレススチール;アルミニウム‐カドミウム合金;導電材で表面処理された非伝導性高分子;伝導性高分子;Ni、Al、Au、Ag、Pd/Ag、Cr、Ta、Cu、BaもしくはITOである金属粉末を含む金属ペースト;または黒鉛、カーボンブラックもしくは炭素ナノチューブである炭素粉末を含む炭素ペースト;から形成される請求項13〜21のいずれか一項に記載のケーブル型二次電池。
- 前記電極組立体が、
電解質を含むリチウムイオン供給コア部;
前記リチウムイオン供給コア部の外面を囲んで巻き取られた1つ以上のワイヤ型内部集電体、及び前記ワイヤ型内部集電体の表面に形成された内部電極活物質層を備える内部電極;
前記内部電極の外面を囲み、電極の短絡を防止する分離層;並びに
前記分離層の外面を囲み、かつ、外部集電体、前記外部集電体の片面に形成された外部電極活物質層、前記外部電極活物質層の上面に形成され、かつ導電材及びバインダーを含む導電層、前記導電層の上面に形成された多孔性の第1支持層、前記外部集電体の他面に形成された第2支持層を含むシート型外部電極;を含む請求項13〜22のいずれか一項に記載のケーブル型二次電池。 - 前記内部電極が負極であり、前記外部電極が正極であるか、または、前記内部電極が正極であり、前記外部電極が負極である請求項13〜23のいずれか一項に記載のケーブル型二次電池。
- 前記分離層が、電解質層またはセパレータである請求項13〜24のいずれか一項に記載のケーブル型二次電池。
- (S1)内部電極、前記内部電極を囲み、電極の短絡を防止する分離層、及び前記分離層の外面を囲んでいる外部電極を含み、所定形状の水平断面を有して長さ方向に延びた電極組立体を用意する工程;
(S2)水分遮断性フィルムの両面に形成されたシーラントポリマー層及び前記シーラントポリマー層の間に設けられた前記水分遮断性フィルムを含む、前記電極組立体の外周より長い水分遮断層を用意する工程;
(S3)前記水分遮断層の両端のシーラントポリマー層が互いに所定部分重なるように前記電極組立体の外面を前記水分遮断層により囲む工程;並びに
(S4)前記水分遮断層で囲まれた電極組立体を加熱し、それにより、前記水分遮断層の両端における前記シーラントポリマー層が重なった部分を接着する工程を含み、
前記(S4)工程が、前記水分遮断層で囲まれた電極組立体を熱収縮性チューブに挿入した後、加熱することで、前記水分遮断層の両端のシーラントポリマー層が重なった部分を接着しながら、前記熱収縮性チューブを収縮させて前記熱収縮性チューブと前記水分遮断層で囲まれた前記電極組立体とを接合する工程をさらに含むケーブル型二次電池の製造方法。 - 前記(S2)工程で用意する水分遮断層が、前記水分遮断性フィルムと両方のシーラントポリマー層との間の少なくとも片面に機械的支持層を含む請求項26に記載のケーブル型二次電池の製造方法。
- 前記(S2)工程で用意する水分遮断層が、シーラントポリマー層、機械的支持層、水分遮断層の金属シート及び別のシーラントポリマー層の順に積層された構造である請求項26または27に記載のケーブル型二次電池の製造方法。
