Description
23%ジルコニアと72%セリアおよび5%のLa2O3固溶体を含み、125m2/gの表面積および単相セリア立方構造(図5を参照)をもつ、Laドープしたセリア−ジルコニア粉末(Tianjiao Co.中国, LCZ粉末)1000gとシリカ(W.C.Grace, Davicat SI1203)150gを水1.5リットルとともに混合し、続いてこの混合物を10時間粉砕することによって、ウォッシュコートスラリー(あるいは“水性混合物スラリー”ともいう)を調製する。直径1.75インチ(4.45cm)、長さ2インチ(5.08cm)、セル密度400セル毎平方インチ、cpsi(62セル毎平方cm)の、Corningによって供給されるセラミックハニカム基材を、上記ウォッシュコートスラリーに浸漬する。余分なスラリーはエアーナイフを使用して吹き飛ばす。被覆されたハニカムは、その後120℃で8時間乾燥し、550℃で3時間焼成される。得られたウォッシュコート充填量(loading)は175g/Lである。硝酸ルテニウム/硝酸白金溶液は、初期湿式含浸、次いで120℃で8時間乾燥しおよび400℃で3時間焼成することにより被覆された基材上に付着される。結果として充填量はルテニウム2.1g/Lおよび白金1.0g/Lである。この触媒の性能を図1に示す。
20%ジルコニアおよび80%セリアを有するRhodiaからのセリアとジルコニアの固溶体1000gおよびMEI(Magnesium Elektron Inc)からの酸化スズ150gを水1.5リットルとともに混合し、続いてこの混合物を10時間粉砕することによって、ウォッシュコートスラリーを調製する。実施例1に記載の基材と同じ寸法を有するCorningによって供給されるセラミックハニカム基材を上記ウォッシュコートスラリー中に浸漬する。余分なスラリーをエアーナイフを使用して吹き飛ばす。被覆されたハニカムは、次に120℃で8時間乾燥し、550℃で3時間焼成される。得られたウォッシュコート充填量は175g/Lである。硝酸ルテニウム/硝酸白金溶液は、初期湿式含浸、次いで120℃で8時間乾燥し、550℃で3時間焼成することにより被覆された基材上に付着される。得られた充填量はルテニウム2.2g/Lおよび白金1.0g/Lである。この触媒の性能を図2に示す。

20%ジルコニアおよび80%セリアを有するRhodiaからのセリア−ジルコニアの粉末1000gと、W.C.Graceからのシリカの150gとを水1.5リットルとともに混合することによってウォッシュコートスラリーを調製する。この混合物を10時間粉砕する。直径1.75インチ(4.45cm)、長さ2インチ(5.08cm)、セル密度約100cpsi(15.5セル毎平方cm)の、Corningによって供給されるセラミックハニカム基材を、上記ウォッシュコートスラリーに浸漬する。余分なスラリーはエアーナイフを使用して吹き飛ばす。被覆されたハニカムは、その後120℃で8時間乾燥し、500℃で3時間焼成される。得られたウォッシュコート充填量は90g/Lである。硝酸ルテニウム/硝酸白金溶液は、初期湿式含浸、次いで120℃で8時間乾燥しおよび400℃で3時間焼成することにより被覆された基材上に付着される。結果として充填量はルテニウム1.1g/Lおよび白金0.40g/Lである。この触媒は蓄熱式触媒酸化ユニットで使用された。低空間速度(9600/hr)における、この触媒の性能を図6に示す。
Claims (12)
- 排出流体からのCOおよびハロゲン化有機化合物を含む揮発性有機化合物の破壊のための基材上に付着された酸化触媒であって、
該酸化触媒は
その一つがルテニウムであり、かつ他の一つが白金からなる、少なくとも二種の白金族金属、単相セリア立方体構造を有するCeO2およびZrO2の固溶体からなる耐火性酸化物担持体、
ここで、該耐火性酸化物は前記酸化触媒の10〜95重量%を構成するところ、さらに
シリカおよび酸化スズの一方または両方を含み、かつ
該基材はハニカム構造またはモノリス構造を有しおよび該基材はコージェライト、ムライト、鉄−クロム合金およびステンレス鋼よりなる群から製造され、
さらに、前記少なくとも二種の白金族金属化合物が単相セリア立方体構造を有するCeO2およびZrO2の固溶体およびシリカおよび/または酸化スズに担持される酸化触媒。 - ルテニウム対白金の比が20:1〜1:20である請求項1記載の酸化触媒。
- 耐火性酸化物担持体が、酸化ランタン、酸化セリウム、酸化イットリウム、酸化プラセオジム、酸化ネオジム、およびそれらの混合物よりなる群から選択される希土類金属酸化物の一種以上とブレンドすることにより安定化される請求項1または2記載の酸化触媒。
- 酸化触媒が2m2/g〜200m2/gの表面積および1〜20マイクロメーターの粒径を有する酸化スズを含み、および該酸化スズが酸化触媒の5%〜50%を構成する請求項1ないし3のいずれか1項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 白金族金属が10〜200g/cf(0.35g/L〜7.1g/L)からなる充填量で基材に付着される請求項1ないし4のいずれか1項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 酸化触媒は、該酸化触媒の5〜50重量%を構成するシリカを含み、および該シリカが非晶質シリカ、沈降シリカ、モレキュラーシーブ、MCM−41、SBA−15およびそれらの組合せよりなる群から選択される請求項1ないし5のいずれか1項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 酸化触媒が、200m2/g以上の表面積、100オングストローム以上の細孔径、0.5〜20マイクロメーターの粒径をもつ非晶質シリカからなるシリカを含む請求項6記載の酸化触媒。
- 排出流体からのCOおよびハロゲン化有機化合物を含む揮発性有機化合物の破壊のための、請求項1ないし7のいずれか1項に記載の基材上に付着された酸化触媒の製造方法であって、
CeO2およびZrO2の固溶体、酸化スズおよびシリカの一方または両方を含む、水性混合物スラリーを調製して、混合物を形成し、およびここで該水性混合物スラリーはコロイダルアルミナ、コロイダルシリカ、コロイダルチタン、コロイダルジルコニア、コロイダルセリアおよびそれらの混合物よりなる群から選択されるバインダーとブレンドされ;
該混合物をブレンドし;
基材を該ブレンドした混合物で被覆し;
該被覆された基材を乾燥しおよび焼成し;
該焼成した被覆された基材上に、一つが白金であり、他の一つがルテニウムからなる少なくとも二種の白金族金属前駆体材料を付着させ;ならびに
該白金族金属が被覆された基材を乾燥しおよび焼成することにより、前記少なくとも二種の白金族金属化合物が単相セリア立方体構造を有するCeO2およびZrO2の固溶体およびシリカおよび/または酸化スズに担持されるようにすることからなる製造方法。 - 排出流体からのCOおよびハロゲン化有機化合物を含む揮発性有機化合物の破壊のための、請求項1ないし7のいずれか1項に記載の基材上の酸化触媒の製造方法であって、
CeO2およびZrO2の固溶体、酸化スズおよびシリカの一方または両方よりなる群から選択される少なくとも一種の成分に、少なくとも二種の貴金属前駆体を付着させて、混合物を作成し、
該混合物をブレンドし;
基材を該ブレンドした混合物で被覆し;
該被覆された基材を乾燥しおよび焼成することからなる製造方法。 - COおよびハロゲン化VOCを含むVOC、ならびにそれら混合物を含むガス流体を処理する方法であって、
COおよびハロゲン化VOCを含むVOCを含むガス流体と酸素を結合させ;そして
前記結合した酸素−ガス流体を200℃〜500℃の温度で請求項1ないし7のいずれか1項に記載の基材上の触媒と接触させることからなる方法。 - ガス状排出流体からのハロゲン化有機化合物を含む揮発性有機化合物の破壊のための請求項1ないし7のいずれか1項に記載の酸化触媒の使用であって、200〜400cpsi(30−60セル毎平方センチメートル)基材のような高セル密度基材とともに使用するための復熱式燃焼装置(recuperative thermal oxidizer)等での使用。
- ガス状排出流体からのハロゲン化有機化合物を含む揮発性有機化合物の破壊のための請求項1ないし7のいずれか1項に記載の酸化触媒の使用であって、100cpsi(15セル毎平方センチメートル)以下を含む200cpsi(30セル毎平方センチメートル)以下の低セル密度基材とともに使用するための蓄熱式触媒燃焼装置(regenerative catalytic oxidizer)等での使用。
