Description
Claims (3)
- 印刷エンジンにより媒体上に印刷された画像の光沢水準を検出するシステムであって、
媒体上に印刷粒子を融着させる融着部材と、
前記融着部材に組み込まれ、前記融着部材の動作中に前記融着部材を加熱する加熱素子と、
エミッタから或る入射角で光を入射させて反射光を検出することにより、融着部材表面の光沢値を検出する光学センサと、
前記融着部材表面から検出された光沢値を媒体上における印刷画像光沢水準に関連付けるメモリ手段と、
前記検出された光沢値が目標光沢範囲外であったとき、融着温度、融着速度および融着ニップ圧から選択される少なくとも1つのパラメータを調整することにより、前記融着部材の光沢を調整するコントローラと、
を備え、
前記光学センサは、前記融着部材を回転させながら前記融着部材の表面略全体に亘り光沢分布を調べるための移送手段を含む、システム。 - 融着部材により媒体上に印刷粒子を融着させる融着システムをそれぞれ有する複数個の印刷エンジンと、
これらの印刷エンジンのうち第1印刷エンジン内の融着システムにより印刷された画像と第2印刷エンジン内の融着システムにより印刷された画像との間で光沢均質性を保持させるための校正システムであって前記融着部材表面の光沢値を検出するために各印刷エンジンに設けられた光学センサと、前記融着部材表面から検出された光沢値を媒体上における印刷画像光沢水準に関連付けるメモリ手段とを含む校正システムと、を備え、
前記センサは、エミッタからある入射角で光を入射させて反射率を検出するものであり、前記校正システムは、さらに、前記検出された光沢値が目標光沢範囲外であったとき、融着温度、融着速度および融着ニップ圧から選択される少なくとも1つのパラメータを調整することにより、前記融着部材の光沢を調整するコントローラを含み、
前記コントローラは、前記センサによって前記融着部材の表面に反射率が低いエリアがあることが観察されたときに前記融着部材を含む融着システムに欠陥があることを検出するように構成され、前記コントローラが前記第1印刷エンジンの融着システムに欠陥を検出するとともに前記欠陥の影響を受けているエリアに高い光沢を付与する必要があるジョブが入力されたとき、前記コントローラのスケジューラは前記欠陥がない融着システムを含む前記第2印刷エンジンを選択して前記ジョブを実行させる、
印刷システム。 - 印刷エンジンにより媒体上に印刷された画像の光沢水準を検出するとともに前記印刷エンジンの融着システムの欠陥を検出する方法であって、
反射率を検出する光学センサにより前記融着システムの融着部材の表面の光沢値を、前記融着部材を回転させながら前記融着部材の表面略全体に亘って検出するステップと、
前記融着部材表面から検出された光沢値を媒体上における印刷画像光沢水準に関連付けるステップと、
前記センサによって前記融着部材の表面に反射率が低いエリアがあることが観察されたときに前記融着部材を含む融着システムに欠陥があることを検出するステップと、
を含む方法。
