測定装置に島津製作所製ヘッドスペースガスクロマトグラフィーGC−14Bを、カラムにGL Science Inc製TC−1(内径0.25mm.長さ30m)を用いて測定した。
ポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレットをエタノール/水の混合溶液に溶解後、硝酸銀水溶液を滴下し、電位差滴定装置を用いて求めた伝導度の変化点より算出した。
ICP発光元素分析装置を用いて測定した。
PVB樹脂ペレットを、乾燥機を用いて105℃で3時間乾燥させ、下記式にしたがって算出した。

ランダムに取り出した30個のPVB樹脂ペレットについて、ノギスを用いて長さおよび直径を測定し、平均値を算出した。測定にあたり、MD方向を長さとした。
JIS K6721:1994の規定に基づき、かさ比重測定器(筒井理化学社製)を用いて測定した。
1.低濃度領域での溶解性
エタノール90gに、攪拌下、PVB樹脂ペレット10gを添加して樹脂濃度10重量%のエタノール溶液とし、これを20℃にてメカニカルスターラーを用いて回転数200rpmで攪拌した。樹脂ペレットの状態を目視により観察して、該樹脂ペレットが完全に溶解するまでの時間を測定した。
2.高濃度領域での溶解性
エタノール80gに、攪拌下、PVB樹脂ペレット20gを添加して樹脂濃度20重量%のエタノール溶液とし、これを20℃にてメカニカルスターラーを用いて回転数200rpmで攪拌した。樹脂ペレットの状態を目視により観察して、該樹脂ペレットが完全に溶解するまでの時間を測定した。
樹脂ペレットの製造時、および樹脂ペレットの取扱い時において、PVB樹脂ペレットの臭気を官能試験により確認し、下記の基準にしたがって評価した。

(PVB樹脂粉体の調製)
還流冷却器、温度計およびイカリ型攪拌翼を備えた内容積2リットルのガラス製容器に、イオン交換水1295gと、ポリビニルアルコール(PVA−1:重合度300、けん化度98モル%)105gとを仕込み、全体を95℃に昇温してPVAを完全に溶解させ、PVA水溶液(濃度7.5重量%)を形成した。形成したPVA水溶液を、回転速度120rpmにて攪拌を続けながら、約30分かけて10℃まで徐々に冷却した後、当該水溶液に、ブチルアルデヒド58g、および、ブチラール化触媒である酸触媒として濃度20重量%の塩酸90mlとを添加して、PVAのブチラール化を開始した。ブチラール化を150分間行った後、60分かけて全体を50℃まで昇温し、50℃にて120分間保持した後に、室温まで冷却した。冷却によって析出した樹脂をろ過後、イオン交換水(樹脂に対して100倍量のイオン交換水)で洗浄した後、中和のために0.3重量%水酸化ナトリウム溶液を加え、40℃で10時間保持した後、さらに100倍量のイオン交換水で再洗浄し、脱水したのち、40℃、減圧下で18時間乾燥し、ポリビニルブチラール(PVB−1)の粉体(水分含有量1.0重量%)を得た。
溶融押出し機として、ベント部が2つ設けられ、減圧度をホッパー側から0.08MPaおよび0.09MPaとした、L/D=54の同方向回転2軸型押出し機(東芝機械社製)を用い、これに上記で得られたポリビニルブチラール(PVB−1)の粉体を導入した。ダイホールから出てきたストランド状の溶融樹脂を水槽で冷却した後、ペレタイザーでカッティングして、直径1.6mm、長さ1.6mmのペレット状のポリビニルブチラール樹脂(水分含有量0.2重量%)を得た。溶融樹脂の押出し条件は、スクリュー回転数300回/分、樹脂速度120kg/時間、樹脂温度200℃であった。
PVA−1に代えてポリビニルアルコール(PVA−2:重合度600、けん化度98モル%)を用いた以外は実施例1と同様の方法で、ポリビニルブチラール(PVB−2)の粉体(水分含有量1.0重量%)を得た。ポリビニルブチラール粉体の水分含有量を1.5重量%に調整した後、実施例1と同様にして、溶融押出し機に挿入し、ポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレット(水分含有量0.2重量%)を得た。得られたポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレットは、ブチラール化度が78モル%、酢酸ビニル単位の含有率が2モル%、ビニルアルコール単位の含有率が20モル%であった。また、ブチルアルデヒドの含有量は21ppm、2−エチル−2−ヘキセナールの含有量は4ppm、ハロゲンイオンの含有量は50ppm、アルカリ金属イオンの含有量は20ppm、見かけ比重は0.62g/cc、酸価は0.25mgKOH/gであった。ポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレットの特性を表1に示す。
PVA−1に代えてポリビニルアルコール(PVA−3:重合度1000、けん化度98モル%)を用いた以外は実施例1と同様にして、ポリビニルブチラール(PVB−3)の粉体(水分含有量は1.0重量%)を得た。ポリビニルブチラール粉体の水分含有量を3重量%に調整した後、実施例1と同様にして、溶融押出し機に挿入し、ポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレット(水分含有量0.3重量%)を得た。得られたポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレットは、ブチラール化度が68モル%、酢酸ビニル単位の含有率が2モル%、ビニルアルコール単位の含有率が30モル%であった。また、ブチルアルデヒドの含有量は40ppm、2−エチル−2−ヘキセナールの含有量は9ppm、ハロゲンイオンの含有量は40ppm、アルカリ金属イオンの含有量は20ppm、見かけ比重は0.61g/cc、酸価は0.35mgKOH/gであった。ポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレットの特性を表1に示す。
ポリビニルブチラール(PVB−1)の粉体の水分含有量を5.5重量%に調整して溶融押出し機に導入した以外は実施例1と同様にして、ポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレット(水分含有量1.2重量%)を得た。得られたポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレットは、ブチラール化度が68モル%、酢酸ビニル単位の含有率が2モル%、ビニルアルコール単位の含有率が30モル%であった。また、ブチルアルデヒドの含有量は63ppm、2−エチル−2−ヘキセナールの含有量は17ppm、ハロゲンイオンの含有量は40ppm、アルカリ金属イオンの含有量は20ppm、見かけ比重は0.61g/cc、酸価は0.20mgKOH/gであった。ポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレットの特性を表1に示す。
ポリビニルブチラール(PVB−1)の粉体の水分含有量を42重量%に調整して溶融押出し機に導入した以外は実施例1と同様にして、ポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレット(水分含有量1.2重量%)を得た。得られたポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレットは、ブチラール化度が68モル%、酢酸ビニル単位の含有率が2モル%、ビニルアルコール単位の含有率が30モル%であった。また、ブチルアルデヒドの含有量は109ppm、2−エチル−2−ヘキセナールの含有量は118ppm、ハロゲンイオンの含有量は40ppm、アルカリ金属イオンの含有量は20ppm、見かけ比重は0.61g/cc、酸価は1.0mgKOH/gであった。ポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレットの特性を表1に示す。
ポリビニルブチラール(PVB−1)の粉体の水分含有量を15重量%に調整して溶融押出し機に導入した以外は実施例1と同様にして、ポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレット(水分含有量0.8重量%)を得た。得られたポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレットは、ブチラール化度が68モル%、酢酸ビニル単位の含有率が2モル%、ビニルアルコール単位の含有率が30モル%であった。また、ブチルアルデヒドの含有量は79ppm、2−エチル−2−ヘキセナールの含有量は92ppm、ハロゲンイオンの含有量は40ppm、アルカリ金属イオンの含有量は20ppm、見かけ比重は0.61g/cc、酸価は0.9mgKOH/gであった。ポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレットの特性を表1に示す。
溶融樹脂の押出し時に脱揮を実施しなかった以外は実施例1と同様にして、ポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレット(水分含有量0.9重量%)を得た。得られたポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレットは、ブチラール化度が68モル%、酢酸ビニル単位の含有率が2モル%、ビニルアルコール単位の含有率が30モル%であった。また、ブチルアルデヒドの含有量は152ppm、2−エチル−2−ヘキセナールの含有量は87ppm、ハロゲンイオンの含有量は40ppm、アルカリ金属イオンの含有量は20ppm、見かけ比重は0.61g/cc、酸価は1.2mgKOH/gであった。ポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレットの特性を表1に示す。
実施例1で得られたポリビニルブチラール(PVB−1)の粉体(水分含有量1.0重量%)について、各種の物性を測定したところ、ブチラール化度は68モル%、残存アセチル基(酢酸ビニル単位)の含有率は2モル%、残存水酸基(ビニルアルコール単位)の含有率は30モル%であった。また、ブチルアルデヒドの含有量は113ppm、2−エチル−2−ヘキセナールの含有量は128ppm、ハロゲンイオンの含有量は40ppm、アルカリ金属イオンの含有量は20ppm、見かけ比重は0.21g/cc、酸価は1.5mgKOH/gであった。ポリビニルブチラール(PVB−1)の粉体の特性を表1に示す。
Claims (7)
- 水分含有量が0.01〜6重量%のポリビニルブチラール樹脂粉体を、少なくとも1ヶ所の減圧手段を備えた脱揮用のベント部を有する溶融押出し機を用いて溶融する工程、および
ポリビニルブチラール樹脂の溶融物を、前記溶融押出し機より押出した後切断する工程を含むポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレットの製造方法。 - 前記ポリビニルブチラール樹脂粉体の水分含有量が、0.5〜5重量%である、請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記ポリビニルブチラール樹脂粉体の溶融が、ポリビニルブチラール樹脂の溶融温度〜280℃で行われる、請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 請求項1に記載の製造方法により得られるポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレット。
- ブチルアルデヒドおよび2−エチル−2−ヘキセナールの合計含有量が、100重量ppm以下であるポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレット。
- 酸価が、0.7mgKOH/g以下である、請求項5に記載のポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレット。
- 0.5〜2.5mmのサイズを有する、請求項5に記載のポリビニルブチラール樹脂ペレット。
