Abstract
Description
本発明は、主成分として酸化アルミニウムと酸化ジルコニウムが一定成分比で含まれてなる新規の板状酸化アルミニウムに関する。本発明による板状酸化アルミニウムは、前記酸化ジルコニウムがアルミニウムの結晶表面に分布して粒子厚さの均一度の増加および粒子の成長を促進させ、また、均一度が増加して凝集粒子の生成を防止し、平均厚さ0.1〜1μmであり、好ましくは0.5μm以下であり、粒子の平均径が5〜25μmであり、好ましくは15μm以上であり、角形比が25〜250の範囲であり、好ましくは50以上の物性を有し、真珠光沢顔料の基質およびセラミック材料の充填剤として優れた特性を有する。
次に、本発明による板状酸化アルミニウムを製造する方法を具体的に説明すれば以下の通りである。
次に、上記のように製造された本発明による板状酸化アルミニウムを用いた真珠光沢顔料とその製造方法を具体的に説明すれば以下の通りである。
5L反応器に脱イオン水1,900mLを入れて、硫酸アルミニウム18水和物652g、硫酸ナトリウム350g、そして35%硫酸ジルコニウム4.3gを入れた後、65℃の温度で混合して、均一な混合溶液を製造した。アルカリ溶液は、炭酸ナトリウム297gとリン酸ナトリウム2.7gを、脱イオン水900mLに65℃の温度で溶解させて製造した。65℃の硫酸アルミニウム混合溶液に、撹拌と共にアルカリ溶液を一定速度で滴定して最終pHが6.8となるように調節し、擬似ベーマイトと融剤との混合ゲルを製造した。以後、混合ゲルを90℃の温度で20時間熟成させた後、60℃の温度で真空蒸留させ、110℃の温度で20時間乾燥した。
前記実施例1と同様に実施するが、35%硫酸ジルコニウムを8.5g使用して、透明な板状アルファアルミナ結晶体を得た。
前記実施例1と同様に実施するが、35%硫酸ジルコニウムを13.3g使用して、透明な板状アルファアルミナ結晶体を得た。
前記実施例1と同様に実施するが、35%硫酸ジルコニウムを18g使用して、透明な板状アルファアルミナ結晶体を得た。
本発明による板状酸化アルミニウム(実施例2)と、硫酸ジルコニウムを使用せずに製造した比較例1〜3による板状酸化アルミニウムの粒子分布度のテストを行った。
比較例1は、実施例1と同様の方法で製造するが、実施例1の35%硫酸ジルコニウム4.3gの代わりに、35%硫酸チタン4.3gを使用した。
比較例2は、実施例1と同様の方法で製造するが、実施例1の35%硫酸ジルコニウム4.3gの代わりに、35%硫酸亜鉛7水和物5gを使用した。
比較例3は、実施例1と同様の方法で製造するが、実施例1の35%硫酸ジルコニウム4.3gの代わりに、35%硫酸スズ2.04gを使用した。
Claims (12)
- 酸化アルミニウムと酸化ジルコニウムを主成分として含むことを特徴とする板状酸化アルミニウム。
- 前記酸化アルミニウムと酸化ジルコニウムは、100:0.01〜5の重量比で含まれていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の板状酸化アルミニウム。
- 平均厚さが0.1〜1μmであり、平均径が5〜25μmであり、角形比(aspect−ratio)が25〜250であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の板状酸化アルミニウム。
- 水溶性融剤が含有されたアルミニウム前駆体水溶液100重量部に、前記アルミニウム前駆体100重量部基準でジルコニウム前駆体が0.01〜5重量部の範囲で含まれたジルコニウム前駆体を混合して、金属前駆体水溶液を製造する第1ステップと、
前記金属前駆体水溶液をナトリウム塩水溶液でpH6.0〜7.5の範囲で滴定した後、加水分解して、混合ゲルを製造する第2ステップと、
前記製造された混合ゲルを、60〜100℃の温度、5〜30時間熟成した後、乾燥時は乾燥粉末を製造する第3ステップと、
前記乾燥した乾燥粉末を、300〜700℃の温度、1〜5時間か焼する第4ステップと、
前記か焼したか焼物を、1,000〜1,400℃の温度、1〜7時間結晶化して、結晶化生成物を製造する第5ステップと、
前記結晶化された結晶化粒子と溶融塩との混合物を常温に冷却させた後、20〜90℃の水に溶解および濾過して溶融塩を除去させた後、20〜90℃の温度、0.1〜10%硫酸溶液に分散させ、濾過、水洗および乾燥して、酸化アルミニウム結晶体を製造する第6ステップとを含んでなることを特徴とする板状酸化アルミニウムの製造方法。 - 前記アルミニウム前駆体は、アルミニウムの酸塩、ハロゲン化物および酸化物の中から選択されたものであることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の板状酸化アルミニウムの製造方法。
- 前記ジルコニウム前駆体は、ジルコニウムの酸塩、ハロゲン化物および酸化物の中から選択されたものであることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の板状酸化アルミニウムの製造方法。
- 前記水溶性融剤は、硫酸ナトリウム、硫酸カリウム、硫酸水素カリウム、ホウ酸ナトリウム、硝酸カリウムおよび水酸化カリウムの中から選択されたことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の板状酸化アルミニウムの製造方法。
- 前記ナトリウム塩は、炭酸ナトリウム、炭酸一水素ナトリウム、水酸化ナトリウムおよびリン酸ナトリウムの中から選択された1種または2種以上であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の板状酸化アルミニウムの製造方法。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の板状酸化アルミニウムに、金属または金属前駆体粒子がコーティングされてなることを特徴とする真珠光沢顔料。
- 前記金属または金属前駆体は、金、銀、銅、チタン、スズ、マンガン、ニッケル、シリカおよび鉄金属単独、またはこれらの混合金属の酸塩、ハロゲン化物および酸化物の中から選択されたことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の真珠光沢顔料の製造方法。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の板状酸化アルミニウムを基材とし、
前記基材上に被覆される金属酸化物層と、
前記金属酸化物層の上部に被覆され、SiO2を含む酸化物層とを含む、耐候性が補強された外装材真珠光沢顔料。 - 請求項9に記載の真珠光沢顔料を含有し、産業用コーティング、ワニス、自動車コーティング、粉末コーティング、印刷インキおよび化粧品の用途に使用される顔料。
