Abstract
Description
以下に記載される注意深く制御された試験方法で代表的な材料を試験することによって、上記の表1に列挙されるドリリング及びミリング機械加工性指数を決定した。
以下に記載される注意深く制御された試験方法で代表的な材料を試験することによって、上記の表1に列挙されるグラファイト及び銅シンカーEDM機械加工性指数を決定した。
数種類の金型構造のコンピュータ分析を実施して、従来の高硬度・低熱伝導率金型の標準的冷却システムと、高熱伝導率金型の簡素化冷却システムとの間の温度及び熱流束の差を示した。コンピュータプログラムはMagma Corporations製SigmaSoftバージョン4.8を使用した。各試験で従来の冷却システム及び理想化された冷却システムのモデリングに用いられた高硬度・低熱伝導率材料はP20鋼であった。簡素化冷却システムをモデリングするのに用いられた高熱伝導率材料はQC10アルミニウム、銅、及びMold Max(登録商標)であった。
第1の実施例の金型の試験では、矩形金型のコンピュータモデルを用いた。矩形金型は5種類の条件下でモデリングされた。はじめに「理想的な」条件がモデリングされた。理想的条件には成形表面から5mmの位置に配置された完全な共形冷却チャネルが含まれた。理想的条件は現存するいかなる実用的冷却システムと比較しても優れていると考えられ、また所与の金型キャビティに対して理論最大量の冷却を生じると考えられ得る。
Claims (15)
- 射出成形機(図1−10)用の金型アセンブリ(図5A−328)であって、
第1金型部分(図5A−372)及び第2金型部分(図5A−374)であって、それらの間に金型キャビティ(図1−32、図5A−376)を画定する第1金型部分及び第2金型部分、
前記第1金型部分に結合される第1支持板(図5A−378)、
前記第2金型部分に結合される第2支持板(図5A−380)、並びに
射出成形プロセス中に前記第1及び第2金型部分から熱を除去するための冷却システム(図5A、5B、6、7、8、10−382、図9−382a、382b、図12−399)を含み、
前記金型アセンブリが、
L/T比が100超の金型キャビティ(図2)、
少なくとも4つの金型キャビティ(図4)、
1つ以上の加熱ランナ(図4−64)、
誘導排出機構のうち少なくとも1つを含み、
前記冷却システムがレベル3、レベル2、又はレベル1の冷却複雑度を有することを特徴とする、金型アセンブリ。 - 前記冷却システムがレベル1の冷却複雑度を有する(図5A〜5E)、請求項1に記載の金型アセンブリ。
- 前記第1支持板及び第2支持板の少なくとも1つが単一の機械加工軸を有する冷却管を含む、請求項2に記載の金型アセンブリ。
- 前記第1支持板及び第2支持板の少なくとも1つが複数の冷却管を含み、前記複数の冷却管の各冷却管が共通の機械加工軸と実質的に平行な単一の機械加工軸を有する、請求項2に記載の金型アセンブリ。
- 前記冷却システムがレベル2の冷却複雑度を有する(図6)、請求項1に記載の金型アセンブリ。
- 単一の機械加工軸を有する冷却チャネルを更に含む、請求項5に記載の金型アセンブリ。
- 前記冷却チャネルが、少なくとも部分的に前記第1支持板及び前記第1金型部分、並びに前記第2支持板及び前記第2金型部分のうちの1つを貫き延在する、請求項6に記載の金型アセンブリ。
- 前記冷却チャネルが終端部(図6−384)を含む、請求項7に記載の金型アセンブリ。
- 前記冷却チャネルがバッフル(図6−386)を含む、請求項7に記載の金型アセンブリ。
- 複数の冷却チャネルを更に含み、前記複数の冷却チャネルの各冷却チャネルが共通の機械加工軸と実質的に平行な単一の機械加工軸を有する、請求項6に記載の金型アセンブリ。
- 前記冷却システムがレベル3の冷却複雑度を有する(図8)、請求項1に記載の金型アセンブリ。
- 単一の第1機械加工軸を有する第1冷却チャネル及び単一の第2機械加工軸を有する第2冷却チャネルを更に含み、前記第1機械加工軸が前記第2機械加工軸と実質的に平行でない、請求項11に記載の金型アセンブリ。
- 前記第1機械加工軸が前記第2機械加工軸に対して実質的に垂直である、請求項12に記載の金型アセンブリ。
- 第1冷却チャネルを更に含み、前記第1冷却チャネルが第1機械加工軸及び第2機械加工軸を有し、前記第1機械加工軸が前記第2機械加工軸に対して角度を付けられた、請求項11に記載の金型アセンブリ。
- 前記冷却チャネルが終端部を含む、請求項11に記載の金型アセンブリ。
