Claims (9)
- (a)高選択性エポキシ化触媒を含む触媒床を、塩化ビニルが少なくとも1×10−5モル−%(全ガス混合物に対する塩化ビニルのモルとして算出)、好ましくは塩化ビニルが2×10−5モル−%増加したことが反応器出口ガスまたは再生利用ガスループの中において検出されるまでの時間の間、エチレン、酸素および有機塩化物を含む供給材料と接触させること、ならびに
(b)次いで、供給材料中の有機塩化物量を、実質的に最適な選択性でエチレンオキシドを生成するのに十分な値に調節すること
を含む、エチレンのエポキシ化工程の始動方法。 - 反応器出口ガスまたは再生利用ガスループの中の塩化ビニルの増加が、1×10−4モル−%以下、より特定すると7.5×10−5モル−%以下、最も特定すると5×10−5モル−%以下(全ガス混合物に対する塩化ビニルのモルとして算出)である、請求項1に記載のエチレンのエポキシ化工程の始動方法。
- ステップ(a)において触媒と接触させる有機塩化物量が、触媒1キログラム当たり、塩化物1から12ミリモル(mmol)当量の範囲内である、請求項1または2に記載のエチレンのエポキシ化工程の始動方法。
- 触媒と接触させる有機塩化物量が、6mmol当量/kg触媒以下、特定すると5.5mmol当量/kg触媒以下、より特定すると5mmol当量/kg触媒以下であることができる、請求項1または3に記載のエチレンのエポキシ化工程の始動方法。
- 初期始動段階の間における供給材料中の有機塩化物量が、全供給材料に対する塩化物のモルとして算出して、少なくとも1.5×10−4モル−%、特定すると少なくとも2×10−4モル−%であることができる、請求項1に記載のエチレンのエポキシ化工程の始動方法。
- 初期始動段階の間における有機塩化物量が、全供給材料に対する塩化物のモルとして算出して、0.1モル−%以下、好ましくは0.01モル−%以下、より好ましくは0.001モル−%以下であることができる、請求項1または5に記載のエチレンのエポキシ化工程の始動方法。
- 触媒を、エチレン、酸素および有機塩化物を含む供給材料と接触させるステップ(a)の後に中間ステップをさらに含み、供給材料中の有機塩化物量が、ステップ(a)における供給材料中の有機塩化物量の80%以下である、請求項1に記載のエチレンのエポキシ化工程の始動方法。
