Abstract
【解決手段】排気還流通路に介装されて吸気系に還流させる排気の量を制御する排気還流制御弁と、排気還流通路を介して還流される排気を冷却するクーラーと、該クーラーを迂回して排気を還流させる迂回路と、クーラーを通過させる排気量とクーラーを迂回させる排気量との比率を変化させる切替え弁と、を備え、排気還流制御弁で制御される還流排気の量と、切替え弁で制御されるバイパス排気量とによって、排気微粒子フィルタの温度及び二酸化窒素NO2の濃度を、それぞれの最適値に制御する。

Description
前記微粒子捕集フィルタ28は、排気微粒子(particulate matter:PM)を捕集除去するためのフィルタであり、例えば、コーディエライト等の柱状のフィルタ材料にハニカム状の多数の微細な通路を形成すると共に、その端部を交互に閉塞してなるウォールフローハニカム構造(いわゆる目封じ型)のフィルタが用いられている。
Claims (10)
- 内燃機関の排気通路に設置され排気微粒子を捕集する排気微粒子フィルタと、前記フィルタの上流側に設置される酸化触媒と、を備え、前記酸化触媒で生成させる二酸化窒素NO2により前記排気微粒子フィルタに捕集された排気微粒子を酸化除去する内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、
前記内燃機関の吸気系に還流させる排気の量及び温度を制御することで、前記排気微粒子フィルタの温度及び前記排気微粒子フィルタ中の二酸化窒素NO2の濃度を制御する再生制御手段を備えたことを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記再生制御手段が、還流排気の温度を変化させることによる排気還流率の変化を相殺するように、前記吸気系に還流させる排気の量を変化させることを特徴とする請求項1記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記再生制御手段が、排気還流量を変化させることによる排気温度の変化を相殺するように、前記吸気系に還流させる排気の温度を変化させることを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記内燃機関の吸気系に還流させる排気還流通路と、該排気還流通路に介装されて前記吸気系に還流させる排気の量を制御する排気還流制御弁と、前記排気還流通路を介して還流される排気を冷却するクーラーと、該クーラーを迂回して排気を還流させる迂回路と、前記クーラーを通過させる排気量と前記クーラーを迂回させる排気量との比率を変化させる切替え弁と、を備え、
前記再生制御手段が、前記切替え弁によって前記比率を変化させることで、吸気系に還流させる排気の温度を制御し、前記排気還流制御弁によって吸気系に還流させる排気の量を制御することを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか1つに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記再生制御手段が、前記排気微粒子フィルタの温度が目標温度よりも低い場合、前記切替え弁を制御して迂回路に流す排気量を増やし、かつ、前記排気還流制御弁の開度を増大させることで、排気還流率を略一定に保持して還流排気の温度を高め、排気温度を上昇させる一方、前記排気微粒子フィルタの温度が前記目標温度よりも高い場合、前記切替え弁を制御して迂回路に流す排気量を減らし、かつ、前記排気還流制御弁の開度を減少させることで、排気還流率を略一定に保持して還流排気の温度を低くし、排気温度を低下させることを特徴とする請求項4記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記再生制御手段が、前記排気微粒子フィルタ中の二酸化窒素NO2濃度が目標濃度よりも低い場合、前記切替え弁を制御して迂回路に流す排気量を増やし、かつ、前記排気還流制御弁の開度を減少させることで、排気温度を略一定に保持して排気還流率を低下させて、前記内燃機関からのNOx排出量を増やし、前記排気微粒子フィルタ中の二酸化窒素NO2濃度が前記目標濃度よりも高い場合、前記切替え弁を制御して迂回路に流す排気量を減らし、かつ、前記排気還流制御弁の開度を増大させることで、排気温度を略一定に保持して排気還流率を増大させて、前記内燃機関からのNOx排出量を減らすことを特徴とする請求項4又は5記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記再生制御手段により前記温度及び二酸化窒素NO2の濃度を制御しない状態での前記排気微粒子フィルタに対する排気微粒子の堆積速度、及び、前記再生制御手段により前記温度及び二酸化窒素NO2の濃度を制御した状態での前記排気微粒子フィルタに対する排気微粒子の堆積速度をそれぞれ推定し、前記再生制御手段により前記温度及び二酸化窒素NO2の濃度を制御することで、排気微粒子の堆積速度を低下させることができる場合に、前記再生制御手段の作動を許可する作動許可手段を設けたことを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか1つに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記排気微粒子フィルタに対する排気微粒子の堆積速度を、前記排気微粒子フィルタに対する排気微粒子の流入速度と、前記排気微粒子フィルタにおける排気微粒子の酸化除去速度とから推定することを特徴とする請求項7記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記排気微粒子の酸化除去速度を、前記排気微粒子フィルタの温度と、前記排気微粒子フィルタにおける排気微粒子の堆積量と、前記排気微粒子フィルタ中における二酸化窒素NO2の濃度とのうちの少なくとも1つから推定することを特徴とする請求項8記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記排気微粒子フィルタにおける排気微粒子の堆積量が規定値を超えるときに、前記再生制御手段の作動を禁止して、排気中の未燃焼成分量を増やすことで排気温度を上昇させる強制昇温再生手段を備えたことを特徴とする請求項1〜9のいずれか1つに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
