Abstract

前記外装部材内の非水電解質と、

前記正極に電気的に接続され、先端が前記外装部材の前記封止部を通して外部に引き出され、アルミニウムもしくはアルミニウム合金製の正極リード端子と、
前記負極に電気的に接続され、先端が前記外装部材の前記封止部を通して外部に引き出され、アルミニウムもしくはアルミニウム合金製の負極リード端子とを具備し、
前記正極リード端子及び前記負極リード端子の前記封止部に介在される平面部分に凹凸構造を有するアルミナ膜が形成され、
下記(1)式を満足することを特徴とする。
Sは前記正極リード端子及び前記負極リード端子の断面積(mm2)で、Qは定格容量(Ah)で、1〜50Ahの範囲にある。
第一の実施の形態に係る非水電解質電池の一例について、図1〜図5を参照して説明する。図1は第一の実施形態に係る扁平型非水電解質二次電池を模式的に示す部分切欠斜視図で、図2は図1のA部の拡大断面図で、図3は図1の封止部の一例を示す拡大断面図で、図4は図1の封止部の別な例を示す拡大断面図で、図5は図1の正極リード端子及び負極リード端子における封止部に介在される平面部分の拡大断面模式図である。
Sは正極リード端子7及び負極リード端子6の断面積(mm2)で、Qは定格容量(Ah)で、1〜50Ahの範囲にある。
厚さt(mm)の測定は、以下に説明する方法で行われる。正極リード端子7の任意の5箇所において、例えばノギスにより厚さを測定し、その平均を正極リード端子7の厚さtとする。また、負極リード端子6の任意の5箇所において、例えばノギスにより厚さを測定し、その平均を負極リード端子6の厚さtとする。
幅Xの測定は、以下に説明する方法で行われる。正極リード端子7の任意の5箇所において、正極リード端子7の短辺方向の長さを測定し、その平均を正極リード端子7の幅Xとする。また、負極リード端子6の任意の5箇所において、負極リード端子6の短辺方向の長さを測定し、その平均を負極リード端子6の幅Xとする。
封止部は、外装部材の周縁部の少なくとも一端(一辺)もしくは全周(四辺)に形成され得る。外装部材の周縁部の三辺に封止部を形成した例が、前述した図1と後述する図6に示されている。図1の場合、封止部は、長辺封止部8、第1の短辺封止部9a及び第2の短辺封止部9bから構成されている。長辺封止部8の任意の5箇所において、外縁Z1(外装部材1の外周)と内縁Z2(封止部の境界線)との距離Yを測定し、その平均値を算出する。また、第1の短辺封止部9aの任意の5箇所において、外縁Z1(外装部材1の外周)と内縁Z2(封止部の境界線)との距離Yを測定し、その平均値を算出する。第2の短辺封止部9bについても、任意の5箇所において、外縁Z1(外装部材1の外周)と内縁Z2(封止部の境界線)との距離Yを測定し、その平均値を算出する。長辺封止部8、第1の短辺封止部9a及び第2の短辺封止部9bそれぞれについて算出した平均距離Yが前述した(4)式を満足していれば良い。従って、長辺封止部8、第1の短辺封止部9a及び第2の短辺封止部9bとで、平均距離Yは互いに同じでも、異なっていても良い。
この負極は、負極集電体と、前記集電体の片面もしくは両面に担持され、活物質、導電剤および結着剤を含む負極活物質含有層とを有する。
前記平均結晶粒子径の範囲が50μm以下の範囲にあるアルミニウム箔またはアルミニウム合金箔は、材料組成、不純物、加工条件、熱処理履歴ならび焼なましの加熱条件など多くの因子に複雑に影響され、前記結晶粒子径(直径)は、製造工程の中で、前記諸因子を有機的に組み合わせて調整される。
この正極は、正極集電体と、前記集電体の片面もしくは両面に担持され、活物質、導電剤および結着剤を含む正極活物質含有層とを有する。
正極と負極の間にはセパレータを配置することができる。セパレータとしては、例えば、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、セルロース、またはポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVdF)を含む多孔質フィルム、合成樹脂製不織布等を挙げることができる。中でも、ポリエチレン又はポリプロピレンからなる多孔質フィルムは、一定温度において溶融し、電流を遮断することが可能であり、安全性向上の観点から好ましい。
非水電解質には、リチウム塩電解質を有機溶媒に溶解することにより調整される液状電解質、前記液状電解質と高分子材料を複合化したゲル状電解質、またはリチウム塩電解質と高分子材料を複合化した固体電解質を使用することができる。高分子材料としては、例えば、ポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVdF)、ポリアクリロニトリル(PAN)、ポリエチレンオキサイド(PEO)等を挙げることができる。また、非水電解質には、揮発性がなく不燃性のイオン性液体からなる常温溶融塩を含有させることもできる。常温溶融塩(イオン性融体)は、リチウムイオン、有機物カチオンおよび有機物アニオンから構成され、かつ100℃以下、好ましくは室温以下でも液状であることが望ましい。
第二の実施の形態に係る電池パックは、第一の実施の形態に係る電池単体を複数有する。各々の電池単体は電気的に直列もしくは並列に配置され、組電池を為している。
以下、本発明の実施例を図面を参照して詳細に説明するが、本発明は以下に掲載される実施例に限定されるものでない。
以下に説明する方法で負極を作製した。平均粒子径が0.5μm、N2ガスによるBET比表面積が20m2/g、リチウム吸蔵電位が1.55V(vs.Li/Li+)のスピネル型のチタン酸リチウム(Li4Ti5O12)粉末と、導電剤として平均粒子径4μmの炭素粉末と、結着剤としてポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVdF)とを重量比で90:7:3となるように配合した。これらをn−メチルピロリドン(NMP)溶媒に分散させ、スラリーを調製した。得られたスラリーを厚さ10μmで平均結晶粒子径50μmのアルミニウム箔(純度99%)に塗布し、乾燥し、加熱プレス工程を経ることにより、電極密度が2.4g/cm3の負極を作製した。
負極活物質の粒径測定は、レーザー回折式分布測定装置(島津SALD-300)を用い、まず、ビーカーに試料を約0.1gと界面活性剤と1〜2mLの蒸留水を添加して十分に攪拌した後、攪拌水槽に注入し、2秒間隔で64回光度分布を測定し、粒度分布データを解析するという方法にて測定した。
負極を1cm×1cmの大きさに切り出し、作用極とした。作用極と2cm×2cmのリチウム金属箔からなる対極とをグラスフィルター(セパレータ)を介して対向させ、作用極と対極とに触れぬようにリチウム金属を参照極として挿入した。これら電極を3極式ガラスセルに入れ、作用極、対極、参照極の夫々をガラスセルの端子に接続し、ECとBLが体積比25:75で混合された混合溶媒にLiBF4を2mol/l溶解した電解液を50mL注ぎ、セパレータと電極に充分に電解液が含浸された状態にし、ガラス容器を密閉した。作製したガラスセルを25℃の恒温槽内に配置し、0.1mA/cm2の電流密度で充電した際の作用極のリチウムイオン吸蔵電位を測定した。
定格容量Q、断面積S、リード厚さ、リード幅及び封止部の幅を下記表1〜2に示す通りに設定すること以外は、前述した実施例1と同様にして扁平型非水電解質電池を作製した。
Claims (8)
- 周縁部に熱融着により形成された封止部を有するフィルム製外装部材と、
前記外装部材内の非水電解質と、
前記外装部材内に収納される正極と、
前記外装部材内に収納され、リチウム吸蔵電位が0.4V(vs.Li/Li+)以上の負極活物質を含有する負極と、
前記正極に電気的に接続され、先端が前記外装部材の前記封止部を通して外部に引き出され、アルミニウムもしくはアルミニウム合金製の正極リード端子と、
前記負極に電気的に接続され、先端が前記外装部材の前記封止部を通して外部に引き出され、アルミニウムもしくはアルミニウム合金製の負極リード端子とを具備し、
前記正極リード端子及び前記負極リード端子の前記封止部に介在される平面部分に凹凸構造を有するアルミナ膜が形成され、
下記(1)式を満足することを特徴とする非水電解質電池。

Sは前記正極リード端子及び前記負極リード端子の断面積(mm2)で、Qは定格容量(Ah)で、1〜50Ahの範囲にある。 - 前記正極リード端子及び前記負極リード端子の厚さt(mm)は下記(2)式を満足することを特徴する請求項1記載の非水電解質電池。
0.001Q+0.1≦t≦0.02Q+1.0 (2) - 前記正極リード端子及び前記負極リード端子の幅X(mm)は下記(3)式を満足することを特徴する請求項1または2記載の非水電解質電池。
1.2Q≦X≦13Q (3) - 前記封止部の外縁と内縁との距離Y(mm)は下記(4)式を満足することを特徴する請求項1〜3いずれか1項記載の非水電解質電池。
0.1Q+2≦Y≦0.4Q+10 (4) - 前記外装部材の封止部は、前記外装部材の周縁部の一端に形成された第1の封止部と、この一端と相対する端部に形成された第2の封止部とを有し、前記正極リード端子の先端が前記第1の封止部を通して外部に引き出されており、前記負極リード端子の先端が前記第2の封止部を通して外部に引き出されていることを特徴する請求項1〜4いずれか1項記載の非水電解質電池。
- 前記負極活物質は、チタン含有金属複合酸化物であることを特徴とする請求項1〜5いずれか1項記載の非水電解質電池。
- 前記チタン含有金属複合酸化物は、スピネル型のチタン酸リチウムであることを特徴とする請求項6記載の非水電解質電池。
- 請求項1〜7いずれか1項記載の非水電解質電池の組電池を具備することを特徴とする電池パック。
