Abstract
【解決手段】外装体に凹凸を設ける。例えば、外装体の一部に断面形状が波型となるように凹凸を設ける。凹凸は曲線を含む形状に限らず、矩形波や三角波のように直線を含む形状でもよい。外装体に凹凸を設けることで、屈曲部の内側で外装体を縮み易く、屈曲部の外側で外装体を伸び易くすることができる。

Description
本発明の一態様の蓄電体100の構成例について、図面を用いて説明する。図1(A)は蓄電体100の外観を示す斜視図である。また、図1(A)にX軸方向、Y軸方向、およびZ軸方向を示す矢印を付している。X軸方向、Y軸方向、およびZ軸方向は、それぞれが互いに直交する方向である。図1(B)は蓄電体100の上面図である。図2(A)は、図1(B)中にX軸方向と平行なX1−X2の一点鎖線で示した部位の断面図である。また、図2(B)は、図1(B)中にY軸方向と平行なY1−Y2の一点鎖線で示した部位の断面図である。また、図2(C)は、図1(B)中にY軸方向と平行なY3−Y4の一点鎖線で示した部位の断面図である。
次に、蓄電体100各部の構成および作製方法について説明する。
図4に正極101を例示する。図4(A)は正極101の正面図であり、図4(B)および図4(C)は、図4(A)中でA1−A2の一点鎖線で示した部位の断面図である。正極101は、正極集電体101aと、正極集電体101a上に形成された正極活物質層101bなどにより構成される。図4(B)は、シート状の正極集電体101aの一方の面に正極活物質層101bを設ける例を示している。
正極集電体101a上に正極活物質層101bを形成した後、正極集電体101aの正極タブに、封止層115を有する正極リード104を接続する(図6(A)参照)。
正極タブと正極リード104は、圧力を加えながら超音波を印加して電気的に接続する(超音波溶接)。
次に、蓄電体を構成する負極の一例について、図7を用いて説明する。図7に負極102を例示する。図7(A)は負極102の正面図であり、図7(B)および図7(C)は、図7(A)中でA3−A4の一点鎖線で示した部位の断面図である。負極102は、負極集電体102aと、負極集電体102a上に形成された負極活物質層102bなどにより構成される。図7(B)は、シート状の負極集電体102aの一方の面に負極活物質層102bを設ける例を示している。
図7(C)は、シート状の負極集電体102aの両面に負極活物質層102bを設ける例を示している。負極活物質層102bを負極集電体102aの両面に設けることで、蓄電体100の充放電容量を大きくすることができる。また、負極集電体102aの一方の面に負極活物質層102bを設けた負極102を2つ用意し、それぞれの負極102の、負極活物質層102bが形成されていない面を向い合うように重ねて用いてもよい。
負極集電体102a上に負極活物質層102bを形成した後、負極集電体102aの負極タブに、封止層115を有する負極リード105を接続する。負極タブと負極リード105の接続は、正極タブと正極リード104の接続と同様に行うことができる。
セパレータ103を形成するための材料として、セルロースや、ポリプロピレン(PP)、ポリエチレン(PE)、ポリブテン、ナイロン、ポリエステル、ポリスルホン、ポリアクリロニトリル、ポリフッ化ビニリデン、テトラフルオロエチレン等の多孔性絶縁体を用いることができる。また、ガラス繊維等の不織布や、ガラス繊維と高分子繊維を複合した隔膜を用いてもよい。
二次電池の構造としては、様々な構造があるが、本実施の形態では、外装体107の形成にフィルムを用いる。なお、外装体107を形成するためのフィルムは金属フィルム(アルミニウム、ステンレス、ニッケル鋼など)、有機材料からなるプラスチックフィルム(熱可塑性フィルム)、有機材料(有機樹脂や繊維など)と無機材料(セラミックなど)とを含むハイブリッド材料フィルム、炭素含有フィルム(カーボンフィルム、グラファイトフィルムなど)から選ばれる単層フィルムまたはこれら複数からなる積層フィルムを用いる。金属フィルムは、凹凸を付与する加工が行いやすく、蛇腹構造の外装体107が作製しやすい。また、金属フィルムは放熱効果に優れている。さらに、外装体107に凹部または凸部を形成すると外気に触れる外装体107の表面積が増大するため、放熱効果を高めることができる。
次に、減圧雰囲気下、或いは不活性ガス雰囲気下で所望の量の電解液を他方の導入口119から外装体107の内側に入れる。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態1とは異なる構成を有する蓄電体について、図15を用いて説明する。なお、本実施の形態に示す蓄電体は、実施の形態1に示した蓄電体と同様の材料および方法を用いて作製することができる。よって、説明の繰り返しを防ぐため、本実施の形態では実施の形態1と異なる点について説明する。
本実施の形態では、リード端子の取出し方向と蓄電体の外観形状の一例について図20(A)乃至図20(D)、および図21(A)乃至図21(D)を用いて説明する。
本発明の一態様に係る蓄電体は、電力により駆動する様々な電子機器の蓄電装置に用いることができる。図24乃至図27に、本発明の一態様に係る蓄電装置を用いた電子機器の具体例を示す。

- 表面の少なくとも一部に連続した凹凸を有する外装体内に、
正極と、負極と、セパレータと、電解液を有し、
前記凹凸の断面形状が波状であることを特徴とする蓄電体。 - 請求項1において、
前記凹凸の断面形状の少なくとも一部に、曲線を含むことを特徴とする蓄電体。 - 請求項1または請求項2において、
前記凹凸の断面形状の少なくとも一部に、直線を含むことを特徴とする蓄電体。 - 請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか一項において、
前記外装体は、金属フィルムと熱可塑性フィルムの積層であることを特徴とする蓄電体。 - 請求項1乃至請求項4のいずれか一項において、
前記凹凸のピッチPは、
前記正極と、前記負極と、前記セパレータと、前記電解液が設けられている領域の直線距離の10分の1以下であることを特徴とする蓄電体。 - 請求項1乃至請求項5のいずれか一項において、
前記凹凸の高低差Aは、
前記外装体の厚さTの5倍以上であることを特徴とする蓄電体。 - 請求項1乃至請求項6のいずれか一項において、
前記蓄電体は屈曲部を有し、前記屈曲部の外側のピッチPは、前記屈曲部の内側のピッチPよりも大きいことを特徴とする蓄電体。 - 請求項1乃至請求項7のいずれか一項に示す、
前記蓄電体を有する電子機器。 - 請求項8において、前記蓄電体は、電子機器の筐体の変形に従って変形することを特徴とする電子機器。
