Abstract
Description
上述した手段によってカソードが準備された。スラリーには、
スチレンブロック共重合体(Kraton G1651) 31.0g
活性粉末混合物(EMD、カーボンブラック、グラファイト) 1000.0g
芳香族炭化水素溶媒(Shell Sol A100) 140.8g
パラフィン溶媒(VM&P Naphtha HT) 105.6g
ヘキサン 105.6g
を含有させた。スラリーは、アルミ箔の両面をコーティングするのに使用された。カソードは上述された手法で準備され、性能は二種類の試験媒体(2/3Aセル及びコインセル)によって測定された。可撓性を有するカソードの性能は、ステンレススチールが延ばされたメッシュ状の集電体によって作られたカソードと比較された。2/3Aセル中で、カソードの性能は同程度であった。コインセル中で、下塗り塗装された箔を使用して作られた可撓性のあるカソードに対する性能は、ステンレス集電体で作られたカソードの性能と同程度であったが、下塗り塗装されていないアルミニウム箔で作られたカソードの性能は、ステンレス集電体で作られたカソードの性能と比べ30%劣った。可撓性のあるカソードは、0.177インチの支柱にクラックや離層することなく巻きつけることができ、ひだをつけることができた。
上述した手段によってカソードが準備された。スラリーには、
未硬化EPDMゴム(Royalene 521) 31.0g
活性粉末混合物 1000.0g
芳香族炭化水素溶媒(Shell Sol A100) 194.5g
パラフィン溶媒(VM&P Naphtha HT) 194.5g
を含有させた。可撓性のあるカソードは、0.177インチの支柱にクラックや離層することなく巻きつけることができ、さらに、ひだをつけることもできた。
上述した手段によってカソードが準備された。スラリーには、

活性粉末混合物(EMD、カーボンブラック、グラファイト) 1000.0g
N-メチルピロ 519.0g
を含有させた。可撓性のあるカソードは、0.177インチの支柱にクラックや離層することなく巻きつけることができた。
上述した手段によってカソードが準備された。スラリーには、

メラミンホルムアルデヒド樹脂(Cymel 303) 2.78g
触媒(Cycat) 0.43g
芳香族炭化水素溶媒(Shell Sol A10) 55.4g
VM&P Naphtha HT 41.6g
ヘキサン 41.6g
を含有させた。可撓性のあるカソードは、0.177インチの支柱にクラックや離層することなく巻きつけることができた。
本発明の多くの実施例が記載されている。それでもやはり、本発明の意図や範囲からそれる様々な修正が行われることが推測される。例えば、上述した実施例は一次(つまり、充電できない)リチウム電池に使用するカソードに関連するものであるが、本発明は、充電できるリチウム電池に使用するカソードを準備することにも使用することができる。そのような他の実施例は、請求項の範囲に入る。

Claims (19)
- リチウム電池用カソードであって、
(a)アルミニウム箔を含有する集電体と、
(b)(i)二酸化マンガンと、
(ii)導電性材料と、
(iii)直鎖ジ及びトリブロック重合体、メラミン樹脂によって架橋される直鎖トリブロック重合体、エチレン−プロピレン共重合体、エチレン−プロピレン−ジエン三元共重合体、フッ化トリブロック熱可塑性物質、水素化ニトリルゴム、フルオロ−エチレン−ビニルエーテル共重合体、熱可塑性ポリウレタン、熱可塑性オレフィン、ポリビニリジンフルオロ同種重合体の群から選ばれる結合剤と、
を含有する活性カソード材料と、
を備えたことを特徴とするカソード。 - 結合剤は、トリブロック重合体であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のカソード。
- 結合剤は、スチレン−エチレン−ブチレン−スチレン重合体であることを特徴とする請求項2記載のカソード。
- 結合剤は、EPDMゴムであることを特徴とする請求項1記載のカソード。
- 結合剤は、PVDF同種重合体であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のカソード。
- 結合剤は、メラニン樹脂によって架橋される直鎖トリブロック重合体であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のカソード。
- 結合剤は、メラニン樹脂によって架橋されるスチレン−エチレン−ブチレンであることを特徴とする請求項6記載のカソード。
- 集電体の一方の面は、活性カソード材料によって覆われることを特徴とする請求項1記載のカソード。
- 集電体の両面は、活性カソード材料によって覆われることを特徴とする請求項1記載のカソード。
- 集電体は、主にアルミニウムからなることを特徴とする請求項1記載のカソード。
- (a)アルミニウム箔を含有する集電体と、
(b)(i)二酸化マンガンと、(ii)導電性材料と、(iii)カソードに可撓性がみられる結合剤とを含有する活性カソード材料と、
を備えたことを特徴とするリチウム電池用のカソード。 - リチウム電池用カソードを製造する方法であって、
(a)触媒と、導電性材料と、溶媒と、結合剤とを混合し、混合物を製造する工程と、
(b)混合物を散布し、スラリーを形成する工程と、
(c)溶液噴射工程を使用して基板にスラリーを散布し、コーティングされた基板を形成する工程と、
(d)コーティングされた基板を乾燥する工程と、
を備えたことを特徴とする方法。 - (d)工程の後にカレンダーする工程を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項12記載の方法。
- 基板は、アルミニウム箔であることを特徴とする請求項12記載の方法。
- 基板は、(c)工程の前にフレーム処理されることを特徴とする請求項12記載の方法。
- 基板は、(c)工程の前にプライマでコーティングされることを特徴とする請求項15記載の方法。
- 溶媒は、炭化水素溶媒であることを特徴とする請求項12記載の方法。
- 溶媒は、パラフィン溶媒であることを特徴とする請求項17記載の方法。
- 溶媒は、芳香族炭化水素溶媒であることを特徴とする請求項17記載の方法。
