Abstract
【解決手段】活物質と高分子バインダおよび導電性充填剤を含む添加剤との高温配合反応の生成物である高分子組成物を基礎とする。バインダは少なくとも1つの架橋エラストマーを基礎とし、かつこれらの添加剤はさらにこの電解質溶媒において使用可能な少なくとも1つの不揮発性有機化合物を含み、組成物は効果的には活物質を90%以上の質量分率で含む。

Description
− 組成物内の充填剤含有率が増大されることと、
− カソードを製造する従来プロセスで使用される揮発性有機化合物(VOC)の毒性に関する固有のリスクは、このカーボネートが、室温で固体であって取扱いの危険性が遙かに低い生成物であることに起因して回避されることと、
− カソード高分子組成物が、カーボネートを事前に蒸発させることなく使用されること、かつカソードへの電解質の混合は、このカーボネートが現時点でリチウムイオン電池に使用される電解質の主成分の1つであることに起因してより容易にされること、を可能にする点は留意されるであろう。
a)溶媒蒸発なしに、内部ミキサーまたは押出機内で、前記活物質と、前記バインダおよび前記有機化合物を固体状態で含む前記添加剤とを溶融配合して架橋可能状態にある前記組成物を得ることであって、この活物質は、好ましくは化学式がC−LiFePO4である炭素被覆されたリチウム化されたリン酸鉄等の少なくとも1つのリチウム化されたポリアニオン化合物または複合物を含むことと、
b)この組成物を架橋しかつ場合により熱間成形して、前記架橋組成物を得ること、を含むことによって特徴づけられる。
ハーケ内部ミキサーにおいて、70℃でカソード高分子組成物を作製した。本組成物は、質量分率(%)で表記した下記の構成要素を含む。
HNBRバインダ(「テルバン4307」) 2.68
カーボンブラック 2.68
エチレンカーボネート 0.54
活物質 C−LiFePO4 93.97
架橋系
過酸化ジクミル 0.08
トリアリルシアヌレート(TAC) 0.05
実施例1の場合と同じ配合(すなわち、同量の同一成分)を有する「制御」組成物を、MIBK(メチルイソブチルケトン)溶媒内で前記成分を分散/溶解することによって−すなわち、本発明の溶融プロセスに一致しないプロセスを用いて作製した。この「制御」組成物は、電流コレクタ上を被覆することにより蒸着される。
Claims (15)
- リチウム塩および非水電解質溶媒を基礎とする電解質を含むリチウムイオン電池のセルにおいて使用可能なカソードであって、前記カソードは、溶融加工によりかつ溶媒蒸発なしに得られる、活物質と、高分子バインダおよび導電性充填剤を含む添加剤との高温配合反応の生成物である高分子組成物を基礎とし、前記バインダは少なくとも1つの架橋エラストマーを基礎とすることと、前記添加剤はさらに前記電解質溶媒において使用可能な少なくとも1つの不揮発性有機化合物を含み、前記組成物は前記活物質を90%以上の質量分率で含むことを特徴とするカソード。
- 前記活物質は、4V未満の動作電圧を有しかつ好ましくは炭素被覆された、化学式がLiMPO4(式中、Mは例えば鉄原子である)のリチウム化金属Mリン酸塩等の少なくとも1つのリチウム化されたポリアニオン化合物または複合物を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のカソード。
- 前記少なくとも1つのエラストマーは過酸化物架橋されたジエンエラストマーであり、好ましくは水素化ニトリルゴム(HNBR)であることを特徴とする、請求項1または請求項2に記載のカソード。
- 前記少なくとも1つのエラストマーは、前記組成物内に1%から5%の質量分率で存在することを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のカソード。
- 前記少なくとも1つの有機化合物は、好ましくはエチレン等の少なくとも1つのオレフィンの炭酸塩であるカーボネートを含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載のカソード。
- 前記少なくとも1つの有機化合物は、前記組成物内に0.1%から5%の質量分率で存在することを特徴とする、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載のカソード。
- 前記添加剤はさらに、前記組成物内に0.05%から0.20%の質量分率で存在する、かつ好ましくは、前記少なくとも1つのエラストマーが水素化ニトリルゴム(HNBR)等のジエンエラストマーである場合に有機過酸化物および共架橋剤を含む架橋系を備えることを特徴とする、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載のカソード。
- 前記導電性充填剤は、カーボンブラック、グラファイト、膨張グラファイト、炭素繊維、カーボンナノチューブ、グラフェンおよびこれらの混合体より成る群から選ばれ、かつ前記組成物内に1%から5%の質量分率で存在することを特徴とする、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載のカソード。
- 請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載のカソードを製造するためのプロセスであって、
a)溶媒蒸発なしに、密閉式混合機または押出機内で、前記活物質と、前記バインダおよび前記有機化合物を固体状態で含む前記添加剤とを溶融配合して架橋可能状態にある前記組成物を得ることであって、この活物質は、好ましくは化学式がC−LiFePO4である炭素被覆されたリチウム化されたリン酸鉄等の少なくとも1つのリチウム化されたポリアニオン化合物または複合物を含むこと、及び
b)この組成物を架橋しかつ場合により熱間成形して、前記架橋組成物を得ること、
を含む製造プロセス。 - ステップa)は、前記バインダを、例えば内部ミキサーにおいて60℃から80℃の温度で前記組成物の他の成分の粉末プレミックスに配合することによって実行されることを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の製造プロセス。
- ステップb)は、前記架橋可能組成物を熱間圧縮することによって実行されることを特徴とする、請求項9または請求項10に記載の製造プロセス。
- 次に、前記架橋組成物を、前記カソードに装備される金属電流コレクタ上へ蒸着するために圧延するステップc)を含むことを特徴とする、請求項9〜11のいずれか一項に記載の製造プロセス。
- 例えばグラファイトベースのアノードであるアノード、カソードおよびリチウム塩および非水溶媒を基礎とする電解質を備える少なくとも1つのセルを備えるリチウムイオン電池であって、前記カソードは請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に規定されたものであることを特徴とするリチウムイオン電池。
- 前記電解質溶媒は前記カソードの前記少なくとも1つの不揮発性有機化合物を含むことを特徴とする、請求項13に記載のリチウムイオン電池。
- 前記カソードは、前記高分子組成物製の少なくとも1つの薄膜と接触する金属電流コレクタを備えることを特徴とする、請求項13または請求項14に記載のリチウムイオン電池。
