メモリ４へ結合されているマイクロ制御装置３へ結合されている。マイクロ制御

るリクエストを、ユーザへ発生するようにコンピュータに命令する。状態フラグ
が“Ｎ（ノー）”であるならば、装置は“ＯＫ”フラグをコンピュータへ出力せ
ず、直接ステップ35へ進む。35でゾーン選択のリクエストに応答して、ユーザは
36でゾーン１またはゾーン２を選択する。

はフラッシュメモリ４に書込まれるだけである。フラッシュメモリ４との間でデ
ータの読取りまたは書込みを行うために、読取りまたは書込みコマンドは48でＵ

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 コンピュータのシリアルバスへ結合するために結合装置と、
    この結合装置に結合されたインターフェース装置と、メモリ制御装置と、非揮発
    性メモリ装置とを具備し、前記メモリ制御装置は前記メモリ装置から前記結合装
    置へのデータ流を制御するためにインターフェース装置とメモリ装置との間に結
    合されているポータブルデータ記憶装置。
  2. 【請求項２】 前記非揮発性メモリ装置は読取り／書込みメモリ装置である
    請求項１記載の装置。
  3. 【請求項３】 前記読取り／書込みメモリ装置はフラッシュメモリ装置であ
    る請求項２記載の装置。
  4. 【請求項４】 前記メモリ制御装置はメモリ装置との間のデータ流を制御す
    る請求項２または３記載の装置。
  5. 【請求項５】 前記メモリ装置へのデータの書込みがエネーブルされる第１
    の位置と、メモリ装置へのデータの書込みが阻止される第２の位置との間で可動
    の手動スイッチをさらに具備している請求項２乃至４のいずれか１項記載の装置
    。
  6. 【請求項６】 前記メモリ制御装置はマイクロ制御装置を具備している請求
    項１乃至５のいずれか１項記載の装置。
  7. 【請求項７】 前記結合装置はユニバーサルシリアルバス結合装置を具備し
    、インターフェース装置はＵＳＢ結合装置を具備している請求項１乃至６のいず
    れか１項記載の装置。
  8. 【請求項８】 前記結合装置はＩＥＥＥ 1394 （ファイヤワイヤ）プロトコ
