Abstract
626,289. Velocity-modulation tubes. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and SCOTT, W. J. Feb. 2, 1944, No. 1945. [Class 39 (i)] In a reflex velocitymodulation apparatus using a cavity resonator, the reflecting electrode 6 forms a constructional part of one wall of the resonator 1 and is insulated therefrom, means also being provided to prevent A.C. leakage at the D.C. break. The grid 5 which may be of the type described in Specification 575,320 is included in the opposing wall of the resonator. The electrode 6 is supported in tube 8 by an insulating glass-tometal seal. The lead 7 may be provided with quarter-wave grooves to form a labyrinth preventing leakage of high-frequency energy.
