Abstract
613,412. Velocity-modulated tubes. BECK, A. H. W., and WRIGHT, C. S. June 23, 1944, No. 12027. [Class 39 (i)] Electrons are prevented from reaching the glass wall 10 within the resonator 14 by overlapping the inner walls 19, 20 so that the gap 18 faces parallel to the direction of the stream. Undesired disturbances due to charging or heating of the glass are thereby avoided. The overlap may be reduced if an apertured grid 22 is placed beyond the gap.
