Abstract

618,364. Velocity-modulated tubes. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. Oct. 28, 1946, No. 31887. Convention date, Nov. 12, 1943. Drawings to Specification. [Class 39 (i)] In a velocity-modulated electron discharge device of the reflex type in which the electron beam traverses and then retraverses a cavity resonator, the normal reflector electrode is replaced by a secondary emission electrode, and in front of and close to this electrode is located a grid for causing the secondary electrons to enter the cavity. The resonator is held at a higher D.C. potential than this grid with respect to the cathode.
