Abstract

576,126. Discharge apparatus. MAYO, B. J. Aug. 8, 1041, No. 10599/42. Divided out of 576,121. [Class 39 (i)] In a reflex electron velocity-modulated discharge tube, the reflecting electrode 7 has a flange 7a and applied potential to give equipotential surfaces as shown in Fig. 2, i.e. concave near the electrode. Optimum sizes of the electrode are given. When a ribbonshaped beam as described in Specification 574,512 is used, the electrode is long and the flange may be formed on the long sides only. The resonator 4 has a recess 8, opposite the flange to prevent discharges between electrode and resonator,
