Abstract
582,484. Velocity-modulated tubes. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and MILNER, C. J. Oct. 29, 1941, No. 13950. [Class 39 (i)] In electron discharge devices of the velocity modulation type having one or more annular resonators with a circumferential slit at the portion of minimum diameter with which the beam re-acts, the edges of the slit are chiselshaped so that the thickness is small relatively to the width of the slit. In an example, with a width of slit from .04" to .1", the thickness of the edges should not exceed .01".
