Abstract

607,201. Electric resonators. SPERRY GYROSCOPE CO., Inc. Jan. 29, 1943, No. 1240/45. Convention date, Jan. 29, 1942. Divided out of 606,794. [Class 40 (viii)] [Also in Group XL (a)] A resonator 182 on the outside of the envelope 189 of a reflex velocitymodulated oscillator of the kind described in Specification 535,767 is coupled capacitatively through the envelope to tubular electrode elements 184, 187; to reduce the escape of high-frequency energy from the resonator 182 through the gaps 194, 195, auxiliary cavities 197, 198 are arranged on each side of the resonator 182 which place across the gaps an effective impedance much lower than that presented by the envelope material alone. Tubes 201, 183, 186 and 202 are each a quarter wavelength, as are also the gaps between tubes 201, 183 and 186, 202. The resonator 182 and cavities 197, 198 may .be tuned by plugs screwed into the outer wall. Specification 548,725 also is referred to.
