Abstract

582,441. Yelocity-modulated tubes. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., MILNER, C. J., and SINCLAIR, W. D. Nov. 11, 1941, No. 14547. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (iii)] In electron discharge devices of the velocitymodulated type employing at least one cavity resonator 1, sealing is effected by a vitreous bulb 5 which is sealed along a line of maximum diameter to the tube 4 of a concentric line output and is spaced from the central wire 3 which forms the coupling loop 2. A detachable resonating chamber 6, with a movable wall portion such as the piston 7, is coupled to the seal and power is abstracted by the concentric line 8 to the load 9.
