Abstract
675,175. Magnetrons. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. Feb. 25, 1948 [June 23, 1945], No. 4929/48. Addition to 675,176. [Class 39 (i). In a magnetron as described in the parent Specification an axially movable tuning member is supported at a distance from the anode structure by a hub-like member of ferromagnetic material. As shown, a tuning disc 42 is axially movable between the arms 32, 33 and the loops 36 of the tubular L-shaped anode sections 31. Trapezoidal members 37 secured to the loops 36 co-operate with the tuning disc 42. The tuning disc 42 is supported from a ferromagnetic hub 53 which is actuated by means of a threaded bushing 48. The cathode supply leads 13, 18, 19 are of ferromagnetic material and are shaped in cross-section as shown in Fig. 3. Members 28, 29 also form part of the magnetic circuit. Cooling fluid is circulated through the tubular anode sections and also through the ferromagnetic hub 53. A getter 80 is supported in a side tube of the envelope.
