Abstract
617,251. Magnetrons. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. (General Electric Co.). Jan. 24, 1946, No. 2385. [Class 39 (i)] In a magnetron having an anode structure defining a plurality of cavity resonators, tuning means are provided comprising one or more movable dielectric members 1, Fig. 1, preferably of quartz. Preferably a plurality of tuning members are carried on a ring 4 by spring clips 8 and are actuated by a rod 13 passing through flexible bellows seal 15. The connection between rod 13 and ring 4 is by way of transverse rod 3 which extends through a transverse slot 12 cut in the lower pole-piece 9. The rod 13 and cathode leads pass through central apertures in the pole-pieces 9, 10 respectively. Specification 635,479 is referred to.
