Abstract
681,425. Magnetrons. COMPAGNIE GENERALE DE TELEGRAPHIE SANS FIL. March 24, 1948 [June 13, 1947], No. 8663/48. Class 39(i) In a travelling wave amplifying magnetron as described in Specification 663,728, the cathode comprises an emissive coating on the central electrode K of the system. A screen P con - nected to a negative potential may be provided between the output anode cavity and the input anode cavity to decouple the input from the output. In a modification, Fig. 6 (not shown), the anode forms an incomplete arc of a coil and the complementary arc is occupiel by a negative electrode fulfilling the same function as the screen P. The output and input cavities may be fed through quarter wave waveguide section to output and input waveguides. The anode cavities may be rectangular slots, Fig. 3 (not shown), or may comprise a serpentine channel cut in the anode block, a developed view of which is shown in Fig. 4a.
