Abstract
585,147. Velocity-modulated tubes. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., GOODCHILD, F. D., and FOULKES, C. H. Aug. 18, 1942, No. 11629. [Class 39 (i)] In an electron discharge device incorporating a highfrequency resonator of the coaxial conductor type, requiring connection to an external concentric line, connection to the outer conductor of the resonator is effected by a metal cap C sealed to the envelope D of the device and into which the outer conductor A of the resonator is a push fit. The inner conductor B of the resonator connects to a rod E in a glass seal F closing an aperture in the cap C. A metal flange H may be soldered to the cap C to facilitate the connection of the outer conductor of the concentric line and the rod E may be screw-threaded to receive the inner conductor of the line. Specification 581,883 is referred to.
