534,627. Cathode-ray tubes. BROADWAY, L. F. Sept. 7, 1939, No. 25217. [Class 39 (i)] In a cathode-ray tube the cathode C is convex and the modulating electrode M opposite the cathode is of fine gauge shaped to conform with the cathode. The electrode M is run mainly slightly positive to the cathode, the field from the focusing electrodes Al, A2 not penetrating the gauze; as a consequence there is no cross over of the beam between the cathode and the fluorescent screen S. Specification 472,539 is referred to.
