Abstract

467,293. Cathode-ray tubes. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and REIMANN, A. L. March 13, 1936, No. 7627. [Class 39 (i)] In a cathode-ray tube having a modulating electrode with an aperture through which the electrons pass from the cathode to the screen, in order that the scanning spot shall be of constant width the length of the aperture 4 in a direction x is much greater than the length of the cathode emitting - surface 2 in this direction, while the length of the aperture in a direction y at right angles to x is not much greater than and is preferably less than the length of the surface 2 in this other direction. The direction x is perpendicular to the direction of scanning.
