[Class 39 (i)] To give the beam an elongated section in a television tube two magnetizable rods 4, 5- which may be of nickel-are secured to the end of an electrode 3 in order to deform the focusing field produced by the electromagnet 2. The longer dimension of the beam is at right angles to the lines of the raster to avoid dark spaces. The subject-matter is identical with that of Specification 550,090. Specification 440,560 also is referred to.
