[Class 39 (i)] The focusing electrode for a beam of cathode rays consists of two outwardlyflanged ferrules a, b, which are secured together by welding the flanges a<1>, b<1>. One of the ferrules is provided with an inturned lip from which are struck tongues l engaging holes in a mica &c. disc e strung on supporting rods c, d. The flanges a<1>, b<1> of the ferrules have lips struck at diametrically opposite points forming notches and tabs to which the rods c, d are welded.
