435,203. Cathode-ray tubes. RADIOAKT.-GES. D. S. LOEWE, 10, Wiesenweg, Steglitz, Berlin. March 24, 1934, No. 9248. Convention date, March 29, 1933. [Class 39 (i)] A Braum tube for television comprises an electrode system which includes an anode, a cathode and electrodes for controlling the intensity of, for concentrating, and for deflecting the ray, an electrode 4 terminating the system, and a funnel-shaped auxiliary electrode 5, which is arranged on or near the envelope, has one part, at least, located between the electrode 4 and the screen, and is negatively biassed, e.g. to the extent of 100- 250 volts, with respect to the electrode 4. A three-part deflecting system, as described in Specification 432,209, may be provided and the electrode 4 is then connected to the middle deflecting plate. The electrode 4 may be positively biassed with respect to the anode to which the electrode 5 is connected. The edge of the electrode 5 remote from the screen lies in a plane which contains the edge of the electrode 4 nearer the electrode system.
