Abstract
525,601. Cathode-ray tubes. MULLARD RADIO VALVE CO., Ltd. June 10, 1939, No. 17079. Convention date, June 13, 1938. [Class 39 (i)] The electrode system of the cathode ray tube comprises at least three diaphragms 9, 11, 14 of which 9 and 14 are directly connected and are at a lower potential than the middle diaphragm 11; the aperture 10 in the first diaphragm 9 is of larger diameter than the diameter of the aperture 15 in diaphragm 14. The modulating signal is applied to the diaphragms 9, 14 and the latter is thicker than the former. A fourth diaphragm 16 may be used connected to the second 11; a shield 19 may enclose the electrodes and be used as a support for the diaphragms 11, 16. The aperture diameter in diaphragm 16 is less than that in diaphragm 11.
